X-Rank Hunter

Chapter 115: The Life Revealed To Charley

Chapter 115: The Life Revealed To Charley

"What's happening, why are you all here?!!" Sam arrived across the crowd. After seeing all of the stronger bunch of Hunters gathering around, Sam immediately went there to learn what was going on.

Seeing him, everyone was speechless. They already knew that Sam had gone into the village together with the S-ranks, but who would have thought that Sam was actually expecting that all of them would retreat as well together with them. He really was something.

Besides Don, every one of them only hid their presence and let Joe vent his anger. But this Sam, although he was a Royal Hunter, he actually ran away to the village?! Was he even a man?

He was always acting mighty and arrogant, but in front of a stronger opponent, it appeared that he was the first to run with his tail turned down.

"Ahh! I get it," Sam seemed to realized something as he added, "You all have only run here to see the situation when boss Joe left, right?! Tsk tsk! You all really are cowards. I'm really speechless."

"..." Everyone disappeared and left the area as they didn't bother themselves to this Sam. They were afraid that they would lose their composure and ended up beating this Sam to death if they stayed there any more longer.

"Hey where are you all going?!" Sam was bewildered. But everyone had already left as he couldn't help but sigh, "These old fogeys really are good at running away..."

After some whines, Sam shifted his gaze to the red portal as he immediately shuddered. He then disappeared as well and left hurriedly.

He was afraid that Joe would come out from the portal at any moment and would eat him the moment the other party saw him.

Meanwhile...

Laude had already seen what had happened outside the village. With his ability to control space, he created something like a hologram screen projection for him to see what was going on outside the village.

Laude saw his son wrathfully killing all the Otherworldly Monster Beasts, but soon after the other party finished killing them all, Laude was terrified upon seeing that his son was actually planning to enter the red portal alone. It was really too rash!

But he was helpless to do anything at all. He knew why the other party was being like that. Even words couldn't suppress his son anymore.

Besides, he was as well, angry at himself for not realizing the demon who took away his grandson. If his son didn't take an action, he was probably the one who had gone on a rampage.

But before he did, his son had shown his wrath as Laude managed to retain his state of mind for at least somehow. He was just praying for his son's safety.

Besides that, he had another one to worry about as well. He shifted his gaze to Charley as he couldn't help but have a sympathetic look.

Charley seemed to already lose her mind and didn't know what was happening to her surroundings anymore. She kept muttering "my baby Jin, my baby Jin" unaware of the fact that she was doing this.

Laude was afraid that Charley might accidentally harm the other baby so he tried to get the baby away from her. But when he did, Charley was crying like a baby, making Laude worry even more.

Charley had really lost her mind! Laude felt pity for her. That being said, he decided to not take away the baby from her as he was just relieved that the other party wasn't causing harm to the baby. She was even carrying her baby as if a precious jewel that would break when dropped.

It was just that, Charley became insane! Literally insane!

But how could she not if right in front of her eyes, even though she was very strong enough herself, she still failed to protect her other baby. Charley kept blaming herself. She couldn't forgive herself for being too weak! She wanted to go on a rampage as well, but after giving birth to her children, it was as if she lost all of her energies making her incapable of doing anything at all other than to cry.

That being said, she couldn't even get up from her bed now. She could only mutter the name of her baby repeatedly, praying that her husband would get him back.

On the other hand, Laude was still lamenting the situation of Charley when he suddenly shifted his gaze at the window of the room. But to his shock, he caught sight of something like a fist-sized blue light entering the small open space of the slightly opened glass window. It was something like a will-o'-wisp! Laude guessed that it was some kind of lost soul of someone else.

Laude was greatly alarmed. He stared at the blue light preparing himself for all possible attacks.

But the blue light only circled the room for a good while. Charley didn't notice it though. Or perhaps, she wasn't putting any attention on it at all.

After some time, the blue light stopped encircling the room as it floated not too far away in front of Charley.

What was with this blue light? What was this thing trying to do? Laude's wariness didn't lower a bit as he readied himself if in case that this blue light wanted to cause harm to Charley or the baby.

Laude only needed a second if not less to make this blue light disappear. That being said, he didn't immediately put action and tried to watch from the side what was this blue light was up to.

The blue light then slowly floated nearer and nearer to Charley as Charley finally noticed it and stared at it. But Charley's eyes were filled with emptiness as she still hadn't put any attention on it even after seeing it.

On the other hand, Laude was just about to make a move when suddenly,

"Invigorate!"

The blue light actually spoke! Laude was a bit surprised. It seemed like this blue light was still sentient. At that time, Laude was more than certain that this blue light was a soul of someone!

However, what made Laude become astonished was that the blue light cast a skill and unleashed an overwhelming Life Energy, making Charley liven up in an instant. Only then did Charley had noticed the blue light in front of her.

"Who are you!?" Charley was immediately alarmed as she tried to embrace her baby trying to protect him against the blue light in front of her.

At that time, however, Charley felt strange. She just felt that her energy was coming back onto her making her regain her sanity in the process.

Laude also noticed this. The skill that the blue light had cast was simply incredible to be capable of healing someone like Charley, physically and emotionally, at the rate visible to the eye. Just who was this blue light?!

"Rejoice, little daughter, for you have given birth to a very special child. A child that will save this world." The blue light spoke with a voice of an old man. His voice was filled with warmth and happiness making both Laude and Charley bewildered.

"What do you mean old man?!" However, Laude wasn't happy at all. This was not a time for a joke. He knew that Charley had already suffered enough, why was this lost soul pulling pranks now?! A child that would save the world? Even the millions of Hunters in the past thousand years and even the Four Greatest Hunters themselves failed to do such a feat. How could this lost soul dare to spout such nonsense?! Except if his grandson was really the promised savior... But how could it be?! Laude just found it hard to believe.

"..." The blue light didn't bother himself to reply to the old man before him making Laude's nerves pop out uncontrollably. Laude was even having an urge to send the other party into oblivion with his space ability. If not for the fact that this lost soul had healed Charley, he probably had done such a thing already a moment ago!

"This sir..." Seeing her father losing his temper, Charley spoke to the blue light as she continued in a much calmer tone of her voice, "But what do you really mean by that?"

Charley knew that the one in front of her was not an ordinary individual. Just healing her physically and emotionally was not an easy task to do. One must know that the greater the strength an individual had, the harder and the greater World Energy was needed to heal that certain individual.

But this blue light in front of her, or probably, a soul of someone great, had actually healed her in the blink of an eye. That feat was something that even she herself was not capable of doing so! Just who really was this blue light?

Hearing the sincere question of the woman in front of him, the blue light then explained, "I am a fragmented soul of one of the Four Greatest Hunters, The Life! And your son is chosen to inherit my power or rather, the 'grace' of the Cherubim."
