Chapter 114: Joe's Wrath
Chapter 114: Joe's Wrath
"Everyone retreat!!!" Don Cruz screamed in panic. He knew that Joe was really angry this time. And the other party might run in a rampage and lose his mind to not even care whether who was friend or foe.
But just after he finished his words, he just found out that in the war zone, he was actually, the only one who was left!
"What are you doing guild leader Don? Hurry up and retreat!" Someone yelled out at Don as that someone was actually inside the village already. It was actually, Sam!
Every one of them wasn't stupid to space out in that kind of situation. They all knew that once Joe became angry, it was an all-out massacre! One should be thankful if Joe's summoned army would still consider you as a friend.
Don found the edge of his mouth twitching wildly as he was astonished at the escaping capability of this bunch! They didn't even inform him and were already inside the village!
But before Don could even make a move, the ground before him started to tremble violently. Don then instinctively shifted his gaze to the moon as he saw a figure coming down from above.
The figure then landed on the ground with a loud boom as if a meteor had just fallen.
Not only Don was startled, but even the many Otherworldly Monster Beasts found their body shaking as they felt the one who had just come.
"Rise, everyone!"
Amidst their horror, they heard an utterly cold voice echoing to the surroundings. And as the ground continued to tremble something from the underground popped out!
What else could it be other than Joe's summoned army?! It was the Bone Army! The skeletons of the beasts of which Joe had slaughtered! And it even completely overwhelmed the numbers of Otherworldly Monster Beasts.
"What the heck! Can you at least let me out first!?" Don complained as he found himself stuck amidst Joe's summons. But it didn't change the fact that he was still astonished at his rival's terrifying strength.
He then saw all of Joe's summons massacring the Otherworldly Monster Beasts one after another. Even if they retaliated, the Otherworldly Monster Beasts just couldn't find a chance to turn the table as the situation was getting direr.
What even worse was that those who were killed by the Bone Army was turning as a member of Bone Army as well. Don could only swallow his saliva as he saw the strength of Joe.
At first, Don thought that we would be implicated as well from the fight and the Bone Army would attack him as well. He was already preparing to defend himself at that time. But from the looks of it now, it seemed like the other party was avoiding him and was only targetting the Otherworldly Monster Beasts for an all-out massacre. Don was thankful that he didn't need to waste his energy to fend off the army of Joe anymore.
But of course, he could do such a feat as well. All by himself, Don could slaughter all the beasts that came out from the portal. It was just that, Joe's way of killing all those beasts was simply too cruel to the point that it could only be considered as a one-sided battle.
Don suddenly felt the itch to fight Don right now. But he knew full well that this was not the right time for it. Especially after realizing that the other party had just lost a child. He wouldn't be so stupid to even ruin the already ruined feelings of the other party.
Under the moonlight, the silhouette of Joe's army could be vaguely seen continuously massacring the Otherworldly Monster Beasts. The cries of the Otherworldly Monster Beasts slowly died out until finally, only the victorious howl of Joe's army was the only sound that kept echoing.
It might seem that it happened too long but to do such a feat, Joe's army only needed a full five minutes!
"Hey, hey! Where are you going?!" Suddenly, Don felt a chill when he saw Joe entering the red portal. He knew that the other party was going there, but wouldn't he ask for someone accompanying him first?
"I will take back my son. Please don't allow anyone to enter the portal. If they still want to live, that is." Joe's voice was icy as his killing intent prevented Don from responding immediately. The moonlight reflected on Joe's sharp eyes as he jumped and entered the portal without looking back.
"Wait!!!" Don called out loud but it was already too late since the other party had already entered the portal. He couldn't help but to curse, "Damn it!"
Was the other party really planning to clear the dungeon all by himself? Don was deeply infuriated.
That was a red portal! An SS-rank dungeon! Although it was only a level 2, it was still dangerous enough for any SS-rank Hunters like them! Why was the other party acting like this? Was that arrogance? Or was the other party was simply confident that he could clear such a dungeon?
No, Don could tell that neither of it was the answer. It wasn't because of arrogance nor confidence. It was all because of wrath that the other party dared to approach this dungeon all by himself.
That action was really too rash. But as helpless as he was, Don could only grit his teeth and hope that Joe could come back. With that, he could only say inwardly "Don't you dare die!"
After a moment of infuriation, he then saw Joe's army rushing into the portal right after Joe had entered. As if the army was afraid that their master would leave them. Until finally, every one of Joe's army left the area and all had entered the portal.
The surroundings then turned deathly silent under the gaze of the moon.
"Do you think he can clear this portal by himself?"
Don was still staring silently at the red portal floating above when he heard a voice coming from behind. He didn't need to look back just to know who was it as he replied, "You didn't run into the village as well aren't you?"
"Haha." The other party only laughed dryly but didn't answer Don's question. Instead, he asked, "What's your thought about it? Should we enter the portal as well?"
The one who was talking was, of course, no other than Jason! After Joe run on a rampage, he only turned into a mist while the other Hunters were frenziedly rushing into the village.
Jason could feel Joe's wrath and he wouldn't stop the other party from venting his anger to all those Otherworldly Monster Beasts. That being said, he didn't meddle in Joe's action and only watched the other party.
"No," Don replied seriously. "This is what he requested, let him be. Besides, as long as 'that thing' is with him, he couldn't be killed by just this."
Jason stared at him seriously, but before he could say any words to respond to him, another voice of someone else echoed. It was a sweet voice of a woman saying,
"I heard that even with your newly acquired strength from the 'Timeland', you still lose again to him in your last fight, that would be 143 - 0. What a pain." The other party's voice had a hint of mockery making Don's nerves popped out uncontrollably. But before he could even refute, the other party added, "I really wondered what is 'that thing' you're talking about that made you wet in your pants."
F***!
Don couldn't take it anymore, "You have no idea you old whore! You haven't even fought him at least once, don't get too full of yourself!"
This was really making him mad! Don knew full well that in his entire life, ever since they met each other when they were still a kid, he still wasn't able to defeat Joe at least once. But was there really a need to mention it?! This woman was really trying to get on his nerves!
"Haha don't be so angry, among all of us here, you are the only one who is so stupid enough to fight him every now and then. I really adore you with that!" The woman chuckled softly as her vague figure appeared in everyone's view under the moonlight.
Not only her, but some other individuals also appeared suddenly in the area. They were ten or so figures.
"Shut up!" Don wasn't happy at all with the woman's ironic praise. But he was a little surprised that there were actually many other individuals who remained in the area while Joe was running in a rampage.
From the looks of it, only the hundred plus S-rank Hunters were the ones who retreated in the village while the others, some of the Royal Hunters, some of the upper echelon of some top families, or this woman he was annoyed with, Stella Borja, the guild leader of the third strongest guild, 'From Stellar', had all just stayed and hid in the area!
Was he too focused on Joe's situation that he didn't notice all of them staying in the area? Don could only think about it as he thought that it might be the case.
As their vague figures all appeared, Don swept his gaze to all of them. He recognized each of them and he knew that their strengths didn't pale in comparison to his own. Even so, Don still warned all of them, "In any case, you all heard him, if you don't want to be killed, do not enter the portal to interfere. After all, 'that thing' enjoys claiming the life of whether it's a friend or foe of Joe."
Everyone stared at him in all seriousness as they didn't say any word to respond to his warning. After a moment, they all shifted their gaze to the portal. They were all trying their hardest to guess what was 'that thing' that made Don so confident in Joe.
Among all of them, Don who kept fighting Joe was the only one who knew about this secret. But of course, no one would be so daring enough to interrogate Don. After all, among all of them, although their strength was not too far away from each other, Don was still the strongest!
