X-Rank Hunter

Chapter 116: Cruel Truth

Chapter 116: Cruel Truth

"The Life?" Both Charley and Laude found it hard to believe the other party's words. That title was simply too great to use as a joke. One must know that using such a title, one of the titles given solely to each of the Four Greatest Hunters, would incur the wrath of heavens and their curse.

But this blue light, or rather, a lost soul of someone else, was actually claiming that he was The Life?! Was this person wasn't afraid of heaven's wrath?

One must know that only the demon race, who were already cursed, would dare to use such a title for no good. But as for humanity? The Hunter Association would surely hunt those people who used this title for nonsense, hoping to minimize the harm of the curse that it would bring.

"Yes, I'm The Life." The Life confirmed that they heard it right. However, he didn't say any more words. A rich man didn't need to prove that they were rich! Their existence was the very proof itself.

"You knew that using such a name will cause you great harm right?" Charley narrowed her eyes suspiciously. But at the same time, she felt that the other party's claims were true. Just by healing her so easily and the overwhelming Life Energy that the other party had unleashed for a moment, was already enough for her to believe it.

Besides, the aura of the blue light in front of her seemed so much similar to that of a First Awakeners. She felt that she was suppressed just by being in the other party's presence.

It was just that, it was hard for her to believe that one of the Four Greatest Hunters would actually come for her and told her something inconceivable.

But if it was true, then surely, she must rejoice with that! How proud would she be if her children were chosen to save the world?!

"Yes," The Life replied.

Charley stared at the blue light for a moment hoping for an explanation. But seeing that the other party just kept silent and seemed as if staring at her son excitedly, Charley could only sigh deeply.

But then, she seemed to remember about something as she immediately turned gloomy. "But my other son is already been taken away, how could my sons still save the world?"

Charley thought that the other party was talking about her twins. And since her other son was already been taken away by a demon, she really wondered how could her son still be able to save the world.

But now that she thought about it more clearly, it might be that the entity before her would do something to save her baby Jin. With that in mind, her hopes for her baby Jin to be taken back had suddenly ignited!

But her hopes were immediately crashed mercilessly when The Life spoke again, "Forget about your other son."

"What did you say!" Charley and Laude spoke angrily at the same time. The words given by the blue light who claimed to be one of the Four Greatest Hunters were simply too much for a joke.

"Forget about your other son," The Life repeated as the two of them gritted their teeth. How could this person say something like that?! The other party didn't even hesitate to repeat his words. Both Charley and Laude were deeply infuriated!

After a moment of pause and while Laude and Charley were still grinding their teeth, The Life then spoke again, "Instead of saving the world, your other son will do the opposite. In the future, he will cause great destruction enough for humanity to perish.

"I shouldn't be saying something like this to you, but since the demons had made their first move, I may as well tell you about some secrets. Your son you named Jin, is the Sovereign's Vessel of Death, someone that a Demon King will use to descend on Encantadia.

"As for your other baby you named Jim, he's special. A Dominator's Vessel. He could carry the grace of the Cherubim. He will be the one that will stop the descent of the Demon King. He will save the world."

Charley's anger seemed to become skewed as she didn't know how should she react now. Should she become angrier? But she suddenly felt burdened as she was starting to feel sorrow as well. Because she felt that the other party was not lying.

Charley didn't know what to say from the sudden information she just heard. Even Laude failed to find a word to say. He was yet to believe that the other party was The Life, but the other party seemed to know well and was confident in his claims. Laude found it hard to doubt the other party.

It was just that, what the other party had just said was simply too hard to take that even if it was true, they would rather choose to refuse to believe it.

"You must be lying..." Charley on the other hand finally spoke a word. But it was to show her disbelief. Her lips quivered. Her voice quivered as well. Her eyes were filled with fear, too weak to face such reality.

"..."

The Life didn't speak for a while. He let Charley digest first the words he just said earlier before he gave him another cruel truth.

"Just what nonsense are you talking about!?" Laude on the other hand finally roared. Seeing Charley who was about to go insane again, Laude was angered. He couldn't take it anymore. He exuded out an aura of hostility threatening the blue light that if he spouted more nonsense, he would surely make a move.

"What's going on? Is there another attack?" People outside the house, Hunters or not, felt his aura of hostility as they were immediately alarmed, especially those high-rank Hunters who decided to stay their night in the village.

They knew that even with all of them, they still failed to notice that the village had been infiltrated by a demon. With that said, they immediately went to where the hostile aura came from as they prepared themselves for a tough fight.

"It's guild master Laude..." Many Hunters inside the village realized who was it. And they guessed that the other party was about to run in rampage as well. Was the other party facing a threat unseen to them?

Everyone was greatly alarmed. If it was in the level of the one who kidnapped Joe's child a while ago, they would surely need to be more careful this time. Every one of those High Rankers knew that it was in the level of Knights of Hell! That was really something they should take very seriously of.

"Strange..." However, after a while, everyone suddenly felt that something was amiss. If Laude had gone on a rampage, why was the other party's hostile aura calming down? If there were really an enemy around, a fight should have broken out already. It couldn't be that the enemy managed to tame a person as strong as Laude, right?

Everyone just couldn't feel at ease at all as they surrounded the house even more cautiously. They wanted to enter the house but they wouldn't be so careless to do so without thinking. They might be fallen into a trap of the enemy as they might suffer huge casualties.

Even the SS-rank Hunter like Don Cruz and Stella Borja, or even the Royal Hunters, or even the upper echelon of some of the strongest families who attended the supposed banquet for Joe's child, didn't act so rashly. They too were afraid that it was a trap set for all of them.

Meanwhile...

"Stop it, father..." Charley uttered gloomily to calm down Laude. Even if she didn't want to believe the words of the entity before her, her father must not act so disrespectfully. After all, there was still a huge chance that the entity before them was really The Life.

Hearing Charley, Laude calmed down a bit as he retracted his aura of hostility before taking a deep breath. His sharp eyes glared at the blue light before him as he said, "Why are you doing this? Let's say what you said is true, but why do we believe you? And also, why her? Why my son? Why do they need to take such burdens? We can still accept if their twins are chosen by you to carry the grace of Cherubim, but why is their other son needed to be chosen by demons instead of you?!"

Laude's voice wasn't friendly at all. His reasoning was just simple. If his grandson was chosen, why not both of them be chosen instead of only one? Or even if only one was chosen, why was the other one needed to be chosen by a demon? That was something that Laude couldn't make sense of at all. And he really was angry by this.

On the other hand, although Laude wasn't friendly, The Life could tell that this time, the other party was really looking for an answer. With that being said, The Life responded, "Let me show you something..."

After which was said, The Life then emitted a dazzling white light enough for all of them to be blinded. Laude unwittingly covered his eyes with his hand to protect them against the dazzling light. Charley on the other hand, closed her eyes as she carried her baby even more carefully afraid that she would suddenly lose it.

After a while, the dazzling light faded. And what obstructed their view made Laude's eyes widen.

"What is this? Where are we?"
