Chapter 24 - NEW HOUSE
After traveling for about thirty minutes, Lucas and Ellena finally arrived at their new residence. As soon as they got out of the car, a security guard at the house immediately approached them.
"Good afternoon, Sir, Madam," the security guard greeted warmly.
"Good afternoon." Ellena replied with a smile.
"Arley, please unload the things in the car and bring them inside!" Lucas ordered Arley, the security guard at the house.
"Yes, Sir."
Arley swiftly opened the trunk of Lucas' car, then lowered the suitcases one by one.
Meanwhile, Lucas walked into the house. A classic European-style house with towering and sturdy pillars. The house which was dominated by white paint was enough to distract Ellena who was walking behind Lucas.
For Ellena who was used to living in small and simple places, the house was very luxurious and grand, and also had such a large yard. Ellena looked at every corner of the house. Several palm trees lined up, making the atmosphere there look more beautiful and cool. Not to mention, some colorful flower plants that further enhance its appearance.
It seems, anyone will feel at home living there. However, for Ellena the house was too big for just the two of them.
"Sir." Lucas turned his head sarcastically when Ellena called out to him.
"S-sorry." Ellena instantly understood Lucas' gaze. Yes, Lucas behaved like that of course because she called him wrong. In fact, Lucas had warned him not to call him "Master".
"Isn't this house too big for the two of us to live in?" asked Ellena.
Lucas stared blankly at Ellna's face. "Why? Don't you like this house?" he asked then.
"That is not what I mean. It's just that I think this house is too big."
"Remember Elle! You are my wife now. So, from now on you should get used to luxurious things, whatever they may be!" Lucas said.
Ellena seemed to be exhaling, it seemed that arguing with Lucas would only make her blood pressure rise. Even if the debate continued, it would only be useless, because it was certain that she would lose and Lucas would be the winner.
"Emm ... are we going to live in one room in this house?" Ellena licked her lower lip, as if feeling awkward.
Ellena really needed to make sure of that, in order to know what her fate would be. Two nights of sleeping in the same room as Lucas, made him unable to rest in peace. Not to mention the drama that was enough to drive him crazy. Ah, she felt that she couldn't stand being in the same room with Lucas for a long period of time.
"What do you expect, Elle?" Lucas asked back. "But I think you have a good idea too," he added and laughed. Of course this made Elena even more annoyed.
"Talk to you for a long time, it can actually drive me crazy!" Ellena grunted in annoyance.
"That's just talk, Elle. How about I make a new rule in this house? You have to accompany me to talk more before going to bed. I think, it looks like it will be very fun," Lucas teased.
Ellena pursed her lips, before she responded, "I think you need a Psychiatrist." Ellena left, leaving Lucas still laughing.
"Hey! What do you mean by saying that? Do you think I'm crazy?" Lucas shouted as he looked at Ellena who was drifting further and further away from him.
Ellena didn't respond. She kept walking, entering the house deeper and deeper. There are several luxury items displayed there, ranging from furniture and various displays whose prices are certain to reach tens or even hundreds of millions of rupiah.
Ellena stopped in her tracks right in front of a connecting staircase leading to the top floor. She focused her eyes on a room not far from the stairs. However, it didn't last long.
"So where's my room?" Ellena turned her head, then looked at Lucas who was already standing behind her.
Instead of answering, Lucas stared at Ellena for a moment. Not because there was anything about the woman that caught his attention, but he suddenly thought back to Selena, his ex-girlfriend. If only the woman in front of him was Selena, not Ellena. Maybe she would love to spend some time alone in the house.
"You didn't hear me?" Ellena's voice suddenly made Lucas jump and wake up from his daydream.
"Your room is upstairs, and I'll sleep in that room," Lucas replied, pointing to a room that had previously been the focus of Ellena's attention. "You choose, the room you want!" he added later.
Ellena took a deep breath. I am so grateful that Lucas has provided a special room for him. So, she didn't have to live in the same room with Lucas anymore.
"Why? Do you mind?" Lucas asked who had been watching Ellena.
"Oh no!" Elena shook her head enthusiastically. "But why does it have to be upstairs?" she asked a little surprised.
No! Not surprised, but worried. Come to think of it, it would be scary to sleep alone upstairs in a house that big.
Lucas smirked. "Okay, you sleep in my room, I guess you're afraid to sleep alone," he said deliberately teasing Ellena, as if he knew what was on her mind.
"No!" Ellena firmly refused. "I'll still sleep upstairs!" She rushed up the stairs one by one.
Lucas just laughed at Ellena's overly paranoid behavior. He was delighted to see Ellena's attitude, like having a new toy.
"Oh, God!" Ellena screamed as her eyes widened as she opened one of the doors to the room on the 2nd floor.
The room was very spacious and had luxurious furniture, but was very dirty and untidy. She couldn't believe that such a luxurious house could be destroyed like a broken ship. Dust scattered everywhere. How could he sleep in such a dirty place?
Hearing Ellena's screams, Lucas immediately ran up the stairs, worried that something might happen there.
"What happened?" Ellena immediately turned around, when Lucas was standing not far from her.
"You?" Ellena looked at him scornfully. "You deliberately want to let me sleep in a dirty room like this?" she growled then.
Lucas snorted, then put his hands on his hips. "Could you not scream like that, just over a trivial matter?" he protested angrily.
"What? Tricky you say?" Ellena rolled her eyes. "You think I'd be able to sleep in a dusty place like this, huh?" She was also on her hips, not wanting to be outdone by Lucas.
"I'm a poor person, but that doesn't mean I'm used to sleeping in dirty places like this. I always keep my place clean, but this time? How could I sleep," complained Ellena, frowning slightly.
"Stupid!" Lucas cursed as he looked away for a moment. "You think it's only your room that's dirty? Every room in this house is dirty, even the kitchen and other rooms. Remember! This is a new house, not a hotel where someone cleans all the time. Besides, I haven't had a chance to hire a maid yet. So, You clean your own room, and mine too! Don't you like to keep it clean?" Lucas explained at length, ending with a sarcastic remark.
"Haish! Seriously? How could I clean a house this big alone?" Ellena made her protest. However, Lucas did not respond and immediately left Ellena.
"You are suck, Lucas!"
Hearing Ellena say his name, Lucas immediately stopped. However, don't look back. This was indeed the first time Ellena had said his name, so he was a little surprised when he heard that.. Lucas just smiled faintly, then went down the stairs one by one.
