Chapter 130 - The Wind Scroll: Molested By Runes?!
Le Fang Ling took out the two scrolls she had and placed them on the ground. One of them was given to her by her mother aka Lilith while the other one was handed down to her by Elder Mo of the sect library. She hadn't had much time to study either of the scrolls till yet but now since everyone's attention was towards the tournament that was starting today; she was more or less, free.
"Host, do you want me to cover this area with protective barrier?" Nagina who was sitting on the stone chair asked as she looked over towards her host who seemed to be seriously studying the scroll.
Le Fang Ling looked around for a bit before answering. They were currently in the small patch of grasses and trees. This was the same place where Nagina evolved to her half snake form and also where Le Fang Ling had first met Lilith.
Since this place was mostly isolated, few people came around here. Combined with the fact that everyone was busy, she did not think it was necessary for her to put that much security.
"Put them on, I mean why to take chance," she shrugged her shoulder.
"As you command, Milady!" Nagina smiled as she jumped down from the rock she was seated on. She clasped her palm together and muttered something.
As soon as she opened her eyes, a barrier was set around the area they were at. Well, she did not cover much space since that would expend more spiritual energy.
Le Fang ling could feel that she was losing some of her qi and well, the culprit was standing right next to her.
She shook her head before turning her attention to the scrolls she was holding.
"Nagina, come here," she gestured towards the girl who was jumping around like a little kid. Since it was her first time walking as a human on her own two feet, she was excited like a new born fawn.
Hearing her name being called she abruptly stopped on her steps and twirled on her tip toe to face her host. Le Fang Ling's breathe stopped for a bit when she saw her acting careless and pulling such stupid stunts.
"You, the heck ar-" she stopped talking when she saw her standing properly on her feet. She raised her hand to wipe the thin layer of sweat on her forehead.
"That was clo-"
But she breathed out the sigh of relief way to earlier. Nagina lost her balance when her knees trembled a bit. She fell down flat on her butt with a loud thump. If not for the fact the grasslands they were on was grassy, she would have had serious injuries on her butt.
"….."
Le Fang Ling stood up from where she was sitting and made her w2ay towards the girl who had eyes full of tears.
"Next time, remember to balance your center of gravity when you twirl or do anything," Le Fang Ling said with a sigh as she helped Nagina to stand up. She helped her dust off the grass stuck on the dress like a mother taking care of her child.
Though in this case, it looked like an elder sister helping her younger sister.
Though!! In reality they were not siblings but host and system.
"You are like an ancestor of mine, but at times you act like a kid," she sighed.
Smack!!
A loud and crisp sound resounded in the place they were on as Le fang Ling's hand landed on the buttocks of Nagina.
"Eeek!! What are you doing?!!" Nagina cried out in shame, her buttocks still on fire where the hand had landed. She immediately distanced herself from Le Fang ling. She only stopped when she was sire she was safe from the pervert.
"That's called spanking," Le fang Ling chuckled as she looked at the retreating figure of Nagina.
"We spank those who are naughty," she said while shrugging as if what she did was totally normal and Nagina was the only one to not know anything about this.
"You should add this to your database," Le fang Ling said with a playful smirk on her eyes.
"We will need that a lot in future," she winked before standing up and walking back to where her scrolls were.
"Of course I know that," Nagina yelled out making Le fang Ling halt on her steps. She turned around to look at Nagina once again.
"Oh, you know…" her voice trailed off as a smile replaced her smirk.
"Good to know that you are looking forward to this as much as I am," she smiled before turning around.
"I…I..shameless!!" Nagina stuttered, her eyes widening in shock and surprise at the extent of the shamelessness her host had gathered.
She had thought she was just a normal person and a little bit idiotic but now that she was starting to realize that she was indeed stupid for thinning so!! Her host was lewd, rotten and shameless to the core.
"Translate these words to me," Le fang Ling held up the wind scroll that Elder Mo had given to her and gestured towards Nagina. The scroll glowed in her hand like how it had done before. Light green sparks blitzed around the scroll and her hand.
"There it is again," she mumbled as she felt the same surge of energy she had felt the last night. She was just thinking it could have been her hallucination but feeling the same thing again was more than enough to wash away the last remnants of his doubt.
She stopped Nagina just before she was she was going to take the scroll.
"Wait a bit," she mumbled as she placed the scroll down on the ground. It continued to glow even after leaving her hand. Not only did it not stop going, it even started to glow brighter. More sparks flew around the scroll.
Le Fang ling eyed the scroll with a confused expression, her sense tingling as if something was about to happen.
Just as she was looking, her eyes widened in bewilderment.
"They are not sparks…" she immediately got on her knees as she looked at the glowing scroll and the flying sparks.
Well, instead of sparks they were more like ancient letters and rune flying around in a definite pattern. She watched in bewilderment and amusement at the runes that slowly formed a spherical path and levitated up...towards her?!
She thought she was seeing things when she saw them moving towards her wrist. There was no such thing as flying words or was there?
Before she could react to what was happening, the runes circled around her, starting from her feet towards her thighs, wrists and neck, until she was covered by the sparkling runes all over.
"Is this that ancient text in the scroll?" Le Fang Ling was dumbfounded at this unusual development of the events. Never did she imagine anything of this sort to happen.
She immediately froze as she was afraid to move. She was afraid she might break whatever weird pattern the words were making as they float around her.
She held her breath in as she waited for the text to complete doing whatever they were doing. To Le fang Ling, they seemed to be searching something about her.
After a few seconds, the letters stopped moving as if they had faced with some kind of disturbance.
Like how the letter had climbed over and around her body, in the same way, they retraced themselves from her body. She watched with a complicated gaze at the withdrawing letters feeling a little lost.
She watched one of the structures slowly leave her wrist. Out of curiosity, she tried to grab it with her hand.
"Aww.." she sighed when that particular letter changed its position and trajectory a bit to evade her hand as if it had its own consciousness.
She turned to look at Nagina who too was a bit lost about this situation.
The shock in her face grew wider when those letters went towards Nagina and started to inspect her in the same way as that of Le Fang Ling.
"Me too?" Nagina asked with a surprised expression, as the letters danced and revolved around her body as if searching for something.
'I am just a voice…' she said with a sigh as she let the runes run amok over her.
The runes stopped revolving around her as if they had finally reached the end of the search they were doing. Like how they had done with Le fang Ling, they did the same.
They withdrew themselves from the body of Nagina.
Both Le Fang ling and Nagina watched in confusion and anticipation at the glowing and sparkly runes. The runes went and circled the scroll once before getting absorbed inside the scroll. The runes completely disappeared form their sight as if nothing has happened.
"…."
"…"
Two flabbergasted faces looked at the sight with dead pan expression.
"So?"
Both of them exclaimed in unison as the weird activity that happened right now.
Were they molested by runes and letters in a broad daylight? Both of them rubbed their arms, shuddering a little.
Le Fang Ling looked at the scroll for a bit and realizing that nothing was going to happen, she decided to pick up the scroll.
Just when she had bent down to pick up the scroll, the scroll suddenly was covered with a strong green sparks.
"Again?" Le fang ling said with a bit of annoyance.
"Weird," Nagina said as she looked around at the weather. The wind had changed its direction…
