Chapter 29: Finally, I Leveled Up

Chapter 29: Finally, I Leveled Up

Sakim was already planning to leave that place and leave those rats alone, but these rats were actually trying to hinder him?

One must know that he didn't want to waste his time playing with these weaklings any longer. For not only those rats were weak, but they only could give him a few exp and coins. On top of that, the item drop rate from them was also too low. How could he still have the time to waste on them?

But since these rats were so persistent on dying, he should at least make their wishes come true, right?

That being said, Sakim was determined to face them all. In the battle of attrition, Sakim was more than confident. If he lost his HP because of their barrage of attack, he could just use his healing items. And if however, he ran out of healing items, he could just steal their life and use them as extras. Thinking about it could only make him smile.

The only possible way to defeat him easily was to give him one shot one kill. But with these rats as his opponent? Sakim shook his head slowly with a slight smile as he thought that it would be imposible.

So knowing that they would collide any time soon anyway, Sakim rushed to the swarm of rats. His hand was ready to touch them at any moment as long as he closed his distance towards them.

Screech!

The rats didn't show any hint of fear. Knowing that they have a great advantage in numbers, their courage was being ignited as they too ran to greet the incoming enemy. No matter what might happen sooner or later, they knew that the only result of it would be a bloodbath. One of either party should be wiped out!

That being said, the two parties finally closed their distance from each other. And as always, the rats, those in front, had immediately dashed forward with their long jump to welcome Sakim with their warm but sharp claws and teeth.

With few of them, or to be exact, with five of them attacking at the same time, they could land a fatal blow against the other party, right? They were just hoping that this human would not run away to dodge their furious attack. Or even if he did try to dodge, with few of them attacking at the same time, they were sure that they could definitely land a blow this time around.

After all, they knew how slow the other party was. His defense sucks as well. Just by looking at that smooth and soft flesh of his, the rats could already tell how tasty it was. If not for the other party's strange ability to chase away the darkness around them, the rats wouldn't be afraid of him at all.

Even so, now that they were going to fight him to death, they should at least give their all, right?

To their surprise, what was happening surpassed their expectation as they saw the other party wasn't even bothering to dodge their attack. That human had even come at them head-on as both his hands were raised forward like a zombie desiring for the brain.

The rats were taken aback at that short moment. They have already fought and killed many humans before and saw all of them with some skills. But what was going on to this human now? His move was too stupid as there was a lot of opening all over the place. Was this some sort of trick to deceive them?

No matter what, they couldn't care much about it as the five of them were now about to land on the other party. Not only that, but their brothers behind them had also jumped up towards their target not long after they jumped.

With this continuous attack, they were certain that this human was surely dead this time.

So then, their claws and their target had finally met. Three of them really managed to land a blow on their target before going past him.

However, the result didn't give them any happiness at all. Because the three rats that manage to hit Sakim could hear two shrieking voices filled with agony. When they turned around, there they saw their two friends getting stocked in the midair and were now turning into dried corpses. Not long after that, the two rats held with the two hands of that human finally turned into ashes. As if it was saying, "Goodbye. We leave everything to you all."

It happened so fast that they didn't even have the time to lament. The next batch of attacks had also arrived at their target ready to cut him into shreds. But this time, the numbers of those who were attacking weren't proportioned as anyone that had a chance would just jump on the other party to try suppressing him with their sheer numbers.

The first three rats who attacked Sakim were delighted seeing that their target was now finally getting suppressed to death. It appeared that he wasn't that strong at all as what they thought him to be. At that moment, they were even thinking that victory was already in their hand. They then join the fray and rushed to their target in joy.

On the other hand, Sakim, who was having trouble dealing with the swarm of rats coming at him endlessly, felt depressed. No matter how many of them did he turn into ashes they were just kept coming at him.

Not only that, those rats were even desperately biting him and didn't want to let go. So as a result, his movement was being restrained bit by bit by them. Even if he turned those rats that were biting him into ashes, they would be immediately replaced by another one. And this gave his frustrations a lot of exp as it reached the max level in no time at all.

Sakim was just thankful but at the same time, bewildered about how could he only receive minimal damage to any of the rats. He really wondered how could it be happening.

Sakim still remembered that when he first received damage from the Cave Rats he first encountered, those rats had actually given him a total amount of 780 damage in just one attack.

But now, the damage taken by him from those rats had greatly diminished. The range of their attack was now only at the 60 to 90 amount of damage. That said, Sakim really wondered what was going on now.

Even so, with lots of them attacking at the same time, the total damage he received was still astonishing.

Whenever his HP dropped to 50%, he would hurriedly use [Healing Leaves] to replenish his HP. Thankfully, every time he used an item, he could just use it directly on his Inventory even without bothering himself on taking it out. With that, Sakim heaved a sigh of relief knowing that he didn't need to have trouble taking out the item when using it amidst the battle.

Even so, the furious attacks accompanied by the war cry of those rats were really fierce. Sakim could even feel their hatred against him as they all wanted him to just die already. The rats were just getting even more furious seeing that no matter how much blood they shed from their target, he just couldn't die at all. Not only that, that human was even trying to retaliate as he had even managed to kill some of their brothers. Just what kind of monster was this human for real?

Learning that this human was really hard to kill, the rats finally decided to completely swarm him to death. That said, the rats then attacked from all directions as they covered the other party's body as if they were a pile of rubles. This time, they were more than sure that they could finally kill this human.

Meanwhile, as Sakim was getting swarmed by those rats, he didn't even feel worried at all. And contrary to that, before his body was completely covered by those rats, the last to see from him was his smile.

How could he not, if the System had just notified him of some surprise.
