Quests: Making A Team (part 6)

War between teams

If you wanted to survive in the Guild, fight for a slot;

They returned to the Guild and stood in front of the reception desk to report about their hunt. Qiao had suggested to submit their spoils for their own safety and brought the other two with him. The reception man was amazed to see them alive after returning from quest. He was a little unwilling to believe that they had hunted any monster.

"Name of your monster?" he picked up his pen to write down the details.

"White Mull level three," Qiao looked toward Quipu to confirm the name and spoke.

The reception man looked up with surprise in his eyes, "Are you sure?"

Qiao scratched his hair and smiled, "Here are the spoils for you to take a look at," he handed the crystal.

The man observed the crystal and returned it with a nod, "Very well, I earlier forgot to tell you that this whole month is dedicated for quests and not for missions. As long as you are able to survive and don't lose your experience points including your team members during any hunt, you will be able to register your team permanently with a separate slot," the man explained in a remote way. He had acknowledged this team and decided to share with him the information.

Qiao was amazed to hear this. From what he had collected by listening to the gossip, weren't quests something allotted specifically to level five hunters? When did they qualify for quests?

"What if I don't want to participate in the event and do only missions?" He asked the man. They could not decide on this hastily without proper practice and their team was also small currently.

"Then you cannot join this Guild. There is another choice for you which is to become part of another team. But if you want to run your own team then you have to prove that you are capable of surviving among other teams. There is no way around it and if you can't then leave the Guild immediately." The man spoke in a plain tone leaving no room for further talk. Furthermore, there payment for abode was nonrefundable.

The man closed the register and indifferently looked at the youth.

As his rank was high, he had less patience to explain all this to these newbies who wanted to join the Guild. It was hectic.

Qiao was left agape for few moments, he could not decide immediately.

Before he could talk to Quipu and Linwin about it, someone else spoke up, "You have the audacity to make up your own team with two losers yet you don't have courage to face other teams, how pitiful."

It was the team leader who happened to have waited in front of the entrance of the forest for this small team who spoke with a burnt tone.

"Whether I chose to leave or not is none of your business," Qiao had observed him long ago and he was ninety percent sure that this leader and his team were the ones following them earlier.

"If you really have guts, face us in the quests if not then shut up and get out of the Guild," the leader stepped ahead and furiously answered.

If he was not in the Guild, he would have talked using his weapon.

"Indeed young man, you are disgracing our years of experience, don't you know how to act in front of your seniors?" another team leader who took it offensive for a junior to be this impudent spoke out.

"If you are confident then why are you hesitating?" someone added in.

Qiao shook his head, he has no patience to explain these impulsive seniors that he was not here to snatch their positions in the Guild, his only aim was to level up and just leave this place.

Qiao registered his team for the quests and glared all of them. Quipu had told him earlier that if they looked for another Guild, it might not be open for registration and they cannot go back in the previous Guild either.

Without a Guild they would have no place for staying as there were no inn or private abodes in the Middletown. This way the rogue chasers were forced to join Guilds and face the challenges of being in a team.

Qiao sat on the bench and thought that he will definitely have a good talk with all these hunters in the future. Now he has to critically observe these chasers, what their plans were and why they were this shameless.

It was not easy to get registered in this Guild, the rules were strict and they were facing much difficulty now that had to take part in quests.

"Brother their plans are not simple in my opinion, we should ask for few more team members," Quipu noticed the tense air in the Guild hall and spoke.

"I know about that. But they are going to regret provoking me like this. I will remember them clearly for this time." Qiao spoke lowly.

These kind of schemes and troubles were slowing down his advancement and it was what he hated the most. If he continued to be tangled in such problems, then when could he possibly save his little brother?

From now on, he thought to never hesitate if anyone challenged him. He will let them lick the dust and if it was cost of his life so be it.

"They are all after the power and position yet they don't how really pathetic they are. They are no more than small insects and have not yet faced true power and utter defeat." Qiao gritted his teeth.

Those teams who were working hard for the fresh slots and position in Guild scrutinized the youth. They had never happened to see someone ignorant to this extent. To them if this was not ignorance than what was?

They felt that this youth was ignorant and arrogant to the highest level, so they had to make him know his place.

They will make sure that he never rises up and spoke nonsense in front of the seniors again.

"We will watch if in few Quests he does not lose his experience it will be our turn to take action," the team leader spoke to others. How could they could simply let the Guild bestow a slot to this low level hunter. Such arrogant snobs should just remain lowly.

Yet something was bothering them. The fact that this morning the youth was not yet level two but when he had returned, he was already level two. They were higher ranked hunters, so they could tell easily.

Maybe he had some means to level fast they thought.

"Let's see how he will continue to level up having us around," someone chuckled and spoke in low tone.

"I have looked into why he left the previous Guild," the second team leader chimed in the conversation and they all attentively looked at him. "He wiped out a whole team and the Guild did nothing other than banning him from the Guild," he broke the news and they fell in to endless discussion.

"Are you sure about this? If it is true, then I must say they were a team of insects rather than chasers. Hmph" The Team leader who had been targeting Qiao since morning snarled.
