Chapter 122: MultipleII
Before Jael knew what was happening four of the monsters were now standing in front of him, hissing and and clicked their jaws. Jael shuddered. "Em, Litha? Something is wrong here, each time I kill one I think another one popped up."
She narrowed her eyes. "I've not seen this type of monsters before, if we continue to kill them then they'll just fill this place up and overcome us!"
The monsters flunged themselves at Jael and he defended himself by transforming his hand and setting it on bright green fire, 'Maybe his Unholy magic will help!"
He swept his hand forward in a blur that smashed into the monsters and the sharp fangs arranged on his it cut them like a saw.
Their bodies hit the floor with a thud, followed by bit of blood and bodies.
Jael watched the four bodies intently and once they began to squirm he brought his palm sprayed wide down and a force of gravitational field slammed into the, squashing the monsters bodies.
"Eh...Jael, I don't think that was a good idea." Litha said. Because now the monsters numbers up to twelve, dark small eyes fixed intently on them. "And I don't think the original body is here either."
Jael frowned. "They don't look like clones either, they felt just as real to my senses."
Litha's face dropped. "That must mean there's some kind of source we must destroy first. But we must first contain them. I've not regained my power but I should be able to do this much."
She swept her hand forward and a trail of blue mana followed her fingers, like some blowing wind she gently sent the monsters back with a wall of blue light and then gather them in a blue ball that held them up.
"Are you really okay Litha?" Temur asked.
She grimaced. "At least I'm better than you with your broken hand. Let's get you treated big bear."
Temur looked from his left hand to Litha's trembling own. "How do we deal with this then?"
"Some kind of source?" Jael said. "Maybe it's in this room."
They all looked at the room in dismay, if there's truly something hidden here they won't find it even if it's painted bright shining red! There's just a lot of things here.
Litha shook her head. "Maybe if I have time then I can analyze them and see if I can find the source but just what are those things doing!"
Up above, inside the shield ball that she made the monsters are fighting each other, after they tried and failed to get out by banging on the wall. They punch and clawed, tearing into each until one of them fall and then two rises in its place and then those two will also fall on those still alive.
"This crazy bastards, just what are they doing." Jael watch in fascinated disgust, they are multiplying at a terrifying pace and moe they couldn't even see individual monsters in the shield as all of them are now a mass of dark bodies.
"The shield is going to collapse! Jael, Temur can you keep them busy while I find the source?" The shield shuddered and ripped with cracks.
They had no choice so they nodded and then she threw the shield at the side and all the monsters erupted out. Jael flinched. "They truly look like cockroaches."
The monsters now act like a colony and as they run forward they devoured everything on their way as if they are locust on green grass. Books, tables, glasses and their own bodies was quickly taken apart and eaten.
Jael narrowed is eyes. Is this also the way for Kaelith to clear any evidence in this place? He won't put it part him because the monsters seems more content to eat their way through, all the skeleton and bodies are eaten with nothing left to show for it.
He took a step back. "Temur, just how can we defeat this?" Individual the monsters are not strong but now that they are a mass they are like the sea that will wipe anything on its path away without leaving a single crumb.
Jael transformed his hand and covered it in Unholy magic, ready to send bolt of attacks out but just when the monsters are about to get to them they suddenly froze then collapsed. Dead.
"What?" Jael demanded, he released his gathered power. "What happened, Litha do you do it or is it some kind of poison."
Temur breath a sigh of relief. It would have been difficult to fight the monsters with his left hand the way it is. "Litha?"
A bolt of mama blasted a wave of the monsters away and she appeared, her eyes shining with victory. "Well! It's not hard to find after all, I just have to trace the line of mana and then there it was in a jar!"
They made their way passed the door and Jael picked up Lola on their way outside. He didn't want to believe that their plan actually work because just how will they strode into a Necromancer's house and go just like it?
But they made their way up the ladder with nothing trying to kill them even though they spent a lot of time just to climb. And then into the small room and finally they stepped outside into the moonlight.
Maybe they were expecting enemies to be gathered outside but everything was just silent under the moon. Temur straightened. "I'll go and bring the carriage around, Thayer will get by on his own." That was also part of the plan.
Temur hurried away and they followed him at a slower pace, by the time they reached the end of the trail a golden carriage was waiting for them. Jael was little surprised that the main building was still standing with the shield intact.
Litha groaned. "That brat! This is his carriage." But even then she was happy to see. But the sight meant freedom.
