Chapter 78: Serious Matter
Chapter 78: Serious Matter
"Brat, you've got guts hurting a tamed beast of my master!"
From Jasper's perspective, that voice was as if shaking the world itself. The courage he had before had immediately got dissipated together with his wind and fire. His skill: Possession got dispelled immediately as his three Spirits came out from his body. But as if the Spirits had taken huge damage as well, all of them glowed a white light and faded right away the moment they left their master's body.
Jasper was of course terrified. Never he thought that there was actually someone in this forest who had this kind of frightening power.
Is he someone from the village? Jasper thought frantically. But he knew every person in the village, especially the High Rankers. Just who the heck was this person in front of him?
From the looks of it, the other party was trying to protect the Evolving White Wolf, and the other party clearly said that the wolf already had a master!
If that was the case, then why the heck was he trying his best to catch the wolf? It was clearly a waste of time and effort!
Jasper tried his hardest to see clearly who was the person that just arrived but he was having a hard time turning his gaze onto him. He stepped backward multiple times until he finally staggered weakly to the ground. "W-who..."
His voice quivered and he was having a hard time letting out those words. But the other party only exuded out a terrifying aura as a response.
As Jasper fell on the ground, he finally managed to take a glance at who it was. But what he saw was a person with a silhouette of a huge gorilla behind the other party that looked as if it was ready to eat him at any moment!
Fear! Jasper had then once again finally felt fear in his life. It was already been two years since he felt this kind of feeling. Never he imagined that he would feel it once again.
On the other hand, the person who just arrived stared at the other party as if he was looking at an ant. If not for his master, and from the scent of the brat in front of him that was somewhat similar to his master, he probably had smashed the other party into meat paste the moment he arrived.
Who else could it be other than Bantay!
Bantay was frenziedly searching for his master here and there but he just couldn't find the other party. It was as if he didn't exist in the first place.
But who would have imagined that during his search, he would find one of his brothers being beaten to a pulp by a brat. How could he tolerate something like that?!
This was clearly a challenge to his master. A complete humiliation!
Knowing about this, Bantay didn't just watch the wolf getting killed, he immediately rushed towards the other party and saved it right away.
"Who are you brat!?" Bantay asked while gazing down at the other party. But the other party couldn't speak anymore and he could see the fear from the other party.
Swooooosh!!
Sapak!
Bantay was sent flying!
Who would have thought that there was actually someone who was so daring enough to strike him on his face!
"Nephew are you okay?!" The moment Bantay was sent flying pretty far away, the person who attacked him immediately rushed towards Jasper worriedly. Who else could it be other than Chad Mausig, the one who was guarding his nephew from the shadow?
A while ago, he was still on the lookout and watching cautiously what his nephew was doing. Especially when the other party used Possession with the three of his Spirits.
He saw the whole fight and the start of Jasper's chase towards the wolf.
That moment, when Jasper left the area in search of the wolf, he was just about to follow him when he suddenly caught sight from a little red sparrow. His face immediately frowned as his interest was piqued. He was sure that the little red sparrow was there but why was it that he couldn't feel anything from it? As if it was not in there.
When the bird noticed that it had been found by him, the little bird flew away immediately. Of course, Chad didn't just watch it fly away. He raised his hand and curled his fist slowly.
As if the bird had been grabbed by an invisible hand, it was stuck in the midair as it struggled to get away from that invisible hand. But the bird was helpless. It couldn't get away and was even pulled back in the other party's direction.
Until finally, the bird was now floating right above Chad's palm. Chad then tried to peer through the bird but his frown only grew stronger. He even forcefully transferred his consciousness to the bird using one of his skills but as if he was inside of a void, only endlessness greeted him.
He immediately retracted his consciousness and his confusion reached the max level. He could feel that the bird was definitely a living creature, but he could tell as well that it had no soul at all. Just how could a living creature manage to think sanely without a soul?
According to what he knew, when a person's soul got stolen or the soul left its body, no matter if it was a beast or humans or demons, the body of the soul would become dormant as if it were an empty shell. It was alive but wasn't able to think or move.
But this bird was actually flying on its own even without a soul! Chad couldn't make sense of it at all. He was even wondering if all he learned until now was all a lie.
Time passed by as he studied the little red bird even more and as he totally forgot everything else. But who would have thought that while he was studying it, he would suddenly feel a very strong aura nearby.
The aura was hostile and it didn't pale in comparison to his own. That moment, he immediately recalled about his nephew, and worries immediately flooded in his heart.
In a short moment of distraction, never he thought that something big would happen. He hurriedly shrouded the little bird with his World Energy as he waved his hand and the little bird vanished on sight. It just went to the little space of his body!
After that was done, he hurriedly searched for his nephew. But of course, to be safe, he went in the direction of the hostile aura just in case his nephew was really there.
But who would have thought that his nephew really was in there. Not only that, a person, no, there was a beast standing majestically in front of his nephew who was now lying on the floor with his butt.
Even though the beast managed to morph itself into a human form, it didn't fool his eyes to see through it. Chad didn't just watch in there seeing his nephew was about to be eaten.
With his highest speed, he rushed towards the beast and gave him a punch enchanted with Mental Energy! It was an energy that was using the power of the mind. As long as your mind could take it, and your Mental Energy was enough, nothing was impossible to do.
If you want to create something out of nowhere, then anyone could do it as long as he had the capability. Enchant, create, control, illusion, as long as you had the capability with your Mental Energy, you could do all sorts of things.
The moment his punch landed on the face of the beast, the beast then was sent flying without a doubt. Knowing that it would take some time for that beast to come back, Chad hurriedly went to his nephew to check the condition of the other party.
"Are you okay nephew?"
"Tito Chad?! You're finally here. What takes you for so long? I almost died, you know." Seeing the arrival of his uncle, Jasper finally could heave a sigh of relief. The fear flooding his heart had slowly calmed down a bit but of course, it didn't get dissipated right away. His mind was after all, not that strong and he was still a child!
Hearing the question of his nephew, Chad could only smile bitterly deep inside but of course, he didn't let it appear on his face but instead, he was wearing a very serious expression as he replied, "I just finished investigating a very serious matter. Sorry to arrive a bit late."
"Investigate some serious matters?" Jasper was confused. Just when did his uncle had time to investigate a very serious matter? He knew that his uncle was always following him and guarding him from afar.
Every time he was in danger, his uncle would immediately barge in to rescue him on time. But this was the first time his uncle became a little late. Though it was only a little, on that short moment, Jasper suffered badly to the point that his mental state was completely shaken.
Just what was that very serious matter that his uncle attended into?!
