Chapter 77: Jasper's Anger
Chapter 77: Jasper's Anger
Meanwhile, as Jim was trying to tame the Bear King...
Somewhere far away from Jim's destination...
Jasper finally caught sight of the Evolving White Wolf after he followed continuously the tracks of his Gnome. But what he saw made his blood boil.
The wolf was now chewing his Gnome as Gnome was helpless to even retaliate. It appeared as well that Gnome had already lost his consciousness.
But from the looks of it, it seemed like the skin of Gnome was pretty tough and gristly as well but nevertheless, the wolf didn't let him go and put him to his mouth all the time.
When Jasper saw this, he was of course immediately angered. How could he not be angry if his precious Spirit was in that kind of situation? Though it wasn't as if his Spirit would actually die, seeing someone in your side being tortured like that was simply unacceptable. You must be heartless if you remain nonchalant from that!
Faster than the wind, Jasper vanished on sight as he appeared right in front of the wolf and gave the wolf a side kick on his head right away.
The wolf was shocked seeing that someone appeared so suddenly in front of it. It even failed to react to the sudden attack of the other party.
After that kick, Gnome was then thrown away but the wolf only moved away his head. It seemed like Jasper controlled his strength to avoid hurting his Gnome even more.
Right after Gnome was thrown away, Jasper vanished then again as he appeared right beside Gnome and caught him carefully. He immediately put his palm on the other party's wound on his body as Jasper used a skill while saying, "Healing Water."
Something like a blue liquid immediately covered the body of Gnome. From then, Gnome felt good as he slowly regained his consciousness and as his condition was getting better. When he slowly opened his eyes, the first one he saw was his master carrying him. He couldn't help but mutter in difficulty, "I-I'm s-sorry m-m-aster."
"Don't blame yourself for this," Jasper responded. His voice turned icier than before as he was itching to avenge his Gnome already. He couldn't just tame the wolf. He must at least beat it to death!
"You can go back now and rest." Jasper could only order his Gnome to go back. Gnome only said "Ok" as his body glowed a white light and faded afterward. Gnome could only hope as well that his master would avenge him but from the looks of it, it appeared that his master wouldn't disappoint him.
After Gnome left, Jasper, with his eyes flashing with cold glint, shifted his gaze to the wolf.
But to his frustration, the wolf was nowhere to be found anymore!
Who would have thought that the smart wolf would actually runaway in that short moment of distraction!
"You beast!! I will kill you!!!" Jasper finally lost it. His temperament was shattered into pieces. All he wanted now was to slaughter the wolf!
He was just planning to beat it into submission but it appeared like the wolf really was testing his patience. Since that was the case, he would give the wolf what it was looking for!
"Wind Trail!"
Starting from Jasper, something like a spherical shockwave was unleashed. It passed through the land and in all directions trying to search for the wolf. He knew that the wolf hadn't gone that far. Though it could erase its traces, the existence of the wolf itself was could never be erased. Unless it died of course.
And sure enough, not too far away, the wolf was running frenziedly to a direction opposite to him. Sensing the wolf made Jasper almost die in anger but knowing that he was getting affected by the action of the wolf a bit too much, Jasper took a long and deep breath. He then shifted his gaze to the direction of where the wolf had run into as he started his way towards the wolf with a swoosh!
It didn't take so long for Jasper to reach his distance towards the wolf. His hand burned with fire as he smashed it against the wolf right away.
On the other hand, sensing the incoming danger, the wolf was fortunate enough to instinctively jump away before the fist of the other party land on it. Jasper's fist collided on the ground as a 'boom' echoed to do surroundings accompanied with cracks forming on the ground.
The wolf may have dodged the fist with its jump but the shockwaves still caused it to be pushed away making its balance become somewhat off when it finally landed on the ground.
With a 'grrrrr' the wolf didn't look away and glared towards the enemy instead. It wouldn't be so careless to take its eyes away from the other party even for a second.
It knew how dangerous the other party was, and the wolf could smell as well the other entities within the other party. The scent was a bit familiar and one of those scents was actually so stinky that the wolf could tell how much enmity the other party had against it.
The wolf couldn't care much about whoever was it, though. It had something to worry about on its own. The danger in front of it and the way to escape was what it needed to worry about. So no matter who was that certain someone inside the kid in front of it, that someone and its enmity could only be neglected.
Of course, that certain someone was no other than Salamander! The enmity forming within him was pretty strong that whenever he saw the wolf that defeated him twice with the same moves, his urge to eat the wolf was getting stronger.
Salamander really wanted to make a move himself but he was currently in Possession with his master. Unless the time was up and his master couldn't take it anymore or his master got defeated or his master willed to undo the skill Possession, he would never be able to leave his master's body.
He could only let his master use his power as freely as he wanted while he was forced to watch from the side. But well, since his master was using his power, it had no huge difference compared to him using his own power as well. As long as his power was being used to slaughter the wolf, no matter who used his power, even if it was him or his master, he felt that it was the same.
"You pissed me off doggy!" Jasper walked slowly towards the wolf. Every stride he made was as if shaking the world itself. Or at least that was what the wolf was seeing from Jasper now.
But still, the wolf didn't cower as it still bared its fang against Jasper. Everyone knew that even a cornered dog would bite back!
"Hmph!" Seeing the hopeless retaliation of the other party, Jasper could only harrumph coldly. He raised both his hand from side to side and fire started to form on the right and wind on the left.
On the other hand, seeing the incoming enemy who was going to unleash some moves, the wolf readied itself from any kind of attack possible. It was much better if it could just escape but the situation just wouldn't let it do so. After all, the person before it had already locked on to its target.
Swoosh!
So then, the furious battle finally began with Jasper making the first move. He rushed towards the other party with his wind and fire ready to slam at any moment.
The wolf jumped backward to avoid the ferocious attacks and it was fortunate for it to avoid the attack with a hairbreadth, smashing only the ground.
But who would have thought that the attack didn't end in there. The wolf was yet to reach the ground when suddenly, it found the young boy just beside it with a readied punch.
Sapak!
The wolf was struck on its cheeks and it appeared that the punch was enchanted by the wind and fire. It was so strong that the wolf was sent flying as it rolled to the ground furiously until it bumped into a huge boulder.
Blood spurted out from the wolf's mouth as it found it hard to stand up. The wolf knew that after he became a tamed beast of its new master, its Life Energy, and healing ability was raised to a good extent. But why was it that its healing ability wasn't working properly against this kid?!
Though he was healing, it was too slow compared to what it had thought.
"Give it up doggy! Just accept your fated death!" In the midst of its confusion, the wolf heard the other party talking to it. The other party was walking in its direction with a frightening aura exuding out from him.
The wolf could only glare ferociously with its fang still baring against the other party.
As Jasper walked closer, he raised his right hand and a ball of fire and wind blending together appeared on his palm. The heat was scorching that even the wolf itself felt that it could take its life in a single attack!
Jasper was now standing right in front of the wolf only a 5 meters distance away. He shook his head in pity as he said, "If you survive this attack, I may let you become my tamed beast."
That was what he intended in the first place, to make it as his tamed beast!. But since the wolf tested his patience and beat up two of his precious Spirits to the point that it was a kind of humiliation, he couldn't just let the matter go so easily. But no matter what, he couldn't let down his Spirits and fail to avenge them.
With blazing eyes, Jasper raised his right hand above his head as the wind and fire grew a little larger. He was just about to slam his skill against the other party when suddenly, something from above fell right in front of him.
Kaboom!
Not only that, that something gave off strong shockwaves that even he himself was sent backward. After which, his skill got interrupted and dissipated right away.
Jasper was still trying to figure out what was going on when he heard a cold voice of a middle-aged man saying, "Brat, you've got guts hurting a tamed beast of my master!"
