Chapter 76 Back To The Store
As Jake and Myriad Arrows pushed their way through the crowd and into the store, they got many stares.
"Wait your turns, you bastards. We got here first!"
Shouts like these were common among everyone. The goal was simple. They wanted to be the first ones to get to the store and hopefully join the guild that was established here.
But unbeknownst to them, they were actually cursing at the very guild leader that they wanted to kiss up to.
"I should really make my face public. First, some random girl uses my name against me, and then some random person who wants to be a part of my guild curses at me. This is too irritating." Jake shook his head as he forced himself inside the store.
The moment that he got in, the guards noticed him, and they immediately made mincemeat of those around him.
"Move away! Make way for the Baron." they shouted as they used batons to hit those who refused to move.
But hearing that the mysterious Baron, the guild leader of Bright Horizon was here, everyone tried to squeeze back as they made a path for the person who arrived.
Myraid Arrows and Jake were left in the center of the path, and the guards stopped in front of him.
"Alright. Just let everyone go as planned. Don't worry too much about it." Jake casually said as he started walking toward the stairs, with not a single guard stopping him.
"He is the guild leader?" jaws dropped and eyes popped. One of the players looked at the leaving figure with an ugly face. He just cursed at the guild leader of the guild that he wanted to join. A guild he wanted to join so badly that he even paid money to go through a portal to get here.
Many of these people paid a lot of money to get here, hoping to cash in on the fame of the guild by being a part of what seemed to be the most promising guild of the world so far.
"This is just wonderful. I did not expect the results to be so good." Jake rubbed his hands as they went to the second floor, which was also crowded.
Sure, everyone said that they wanted to get their own custom weapon. But who actually did? They obviously just came here to get a better chance at joining the guild.
Jake sighed. He stopped in the staircase between the two floors and looked at his player options. Scrolling down, he went into building management.
[Players below the level of 15 will not be allowed into the guild. Registrations are open, and everyone will be accepted as a temporary unpaid member until he/she proves him/herself. Registrations will stay open for the rest of the week.]
A single message was shown as a hologram on both of the floors, shocking Myriad Arrows himself.
"What are you doing? I thought that you wanted to maintain the guild's quality, and that was why you interviewed all of them rigorously. And now, you are just letting them in without any parameters except for level?" he was just confused at this point.
"When I started the guild, I wanted to grow slowly. But then, all of a sudden, the new update came, and that changed things significantly. We need to have a lot of people if we want to succeed in any of the expeditions that we want to take place. And so, we will need to expand as fast as possible"
"And also, I am not just bringing them into the guild. They will become temporary members. When you create a guild, you can create tiers of members. We have a guild leader, coleader, elders, members, and temperorary members for our own guild. You should look at the guild settings once in a while." Jake pointed out.
"At least, you are not paying the people that come in. I mean, that will just be crazy. I wonder how they'll make money though." Myriad Arrows wondered.
"They will siphon off loot to sell on the side. Well, I don't care about that at the beginning. In the level of battles that they will get into right now, any good loot that comes from it shouldn't be too precious, and if it is, then it is their luck that is godly." Jake shrugged as he continued walking up the stairs.
Seeing that the guild was recruiting, but only those who were above level fifteen, many players started leaving.
Another downer was that these new recruits weren't going to get paid. Who didn't want to get paid? And with Jake starting the trend, many corporations already started to do the same, matching what Jake matched.
The only advantage that Jake had over every other guild was popularity. That, and Jake's incredible foundations within the game.
Right now, his guild was the only guild that was capable of equipping their entire member base with rare grade equipment. And the raid that they cleared was going to give them much more without a doubt.
Now in the final stretch of stairs, he saw that there was a line that formed in front of the guard of the third floor.
Because of Jake's orders, none of them were allowed into the floor, but they were all waiting for Jake to come here.
Jake recognized almost every face here. And there was not a single friendly face here.
"Heyya!"
"Right. One friendly face. I don't even know if this is considered a friendly face." Jake corrected his line of thought as he looked at the charming face of Phoenix, who was also standing there.
She smiled at Jake.
"Looks like you have a ton of suitors. Surely you are going to see me first right? After all, we are business partners." she smiled.
"I will not dare let all of these corporations wait for me. All of you can come in at the same time. It will be nice to hear what you all have to say."
