Chapter 64 Through The Portal
Jake stopped in front of the portal and selected the destination, as well as the number of people that he was paying for.
One by one, his guild members went through the portal in front of him. The line went in quickly, and under the watchful eyes of half the city, the guild disappeared into the portal.
Jake looked at the audience and smiled.
He then took out a big poster from his inventory.
"The Bright Horizon! Second round of Recruitment will open soon! This is the one guild where we will actually invest in all of your growth." he beamed as he passed through the portal himself, leaving a dumbfounded audience.
The place that Jake came to was weird. It had nothing but a single building in ruin. The building had one dark entrance, with no one able to see what was inside.
"Why is everyone just standing here like this? Don't tell me, you are scared already? Get into the groups that you are a part of!" Jake barked.
Immediately, the three hundred offensive players of the guild formed the groups that they were a part of. The blacksmith division did not come here, because what could they do in a dungeon? The best way for them to level up was to make more and more equipment.
As all of them glared at the black entrance, about ten people wide, Jake approached it.
There was just this building here. Nothing else. In this clearing, with a rocky floor beneath them, the building stood on one side, the portal on the other, and the other two sides were a forest.
Above the building, suddenly, a large screen formed.
[Raid: Goblin's Encampment!
Number 1: --------]
There was no one in the number one position.
"Alright, people. The raid started. I need all of you to be cautious. Do not for a second think that the goblins will come only from the dark entrance of that building. They can come from the forests, and they can also come from behind. There is a forest beyond the portal after all!" Jake warned everyone as he took out his sword.
"This is a raid. That means that we need to take care of the main boss of this place. For that, we need to get rid of his minions. I will lead the charge to the left of the forest. Remember, under no circumstance should anyone enter the building itself until the entire forest has been sweeped." Jake announced.
"Why? Going through the building makes more sense." Myriad Arrows asked.
"If we enter the small and narrow passageway here, we can kill forward, but once the goblins of the forest corner us in there, we will be caught in both sides, and we will have too many losses. Better take care of the forest gobins and then focus on the passageway." Jake shook his head.
"That actually makes sense." Myriad Arrows nodded.
"Well then. And do not forget to collect the loot that you see. I need to sell that loot if I am supposed to get more money to take you guys on a field trip like this again!" Jake shouted as he started toward the left side of the forest.
Myriad Arrows led the charge toward the right.
"What do I do?" Kierch suddenly asked.
Jake turned around to look at the lone wolf among so many others.
"You should go with Myriad Arrows. Both of you should understand one another. Once you get to know each other, I have no doubt that you will be an unstoppable duo." Jake chuckled.
Both Kierch and Myriad Arrows rolled their eyes immediately.
Jake did not mind that and looked at the groups.
"Ten groups remain here. Ten groups with me, and thirteen groups with Kierch and Myriad Arrows. I do not want to see any infighting here. The ten groups that are here, do not worry. You will still get Exp. I need you guys to stay guard here if any goblins come from behind or from the ruined passageway." Jake said.
With the quick segregation underway, soon enough, all the roles were cast, and Jake went on one side, while Kierch and Myriad Arrows went on another.
Jake was at the very front. He was the strongest among everyone here, with the highest level, the best equipment, and the most experience. He knew that he needed to stay at the front to give his men morale, and to show them once and for all why he was the guild master.
As they walked through the jungle, a straight path presented itself. But it was only one person wide. Jake stopped.
"Make a five people lane. Use your swords to cut down any bushes, trees, or branches that come in your way. We need to be careful. A goblin might come at us-" Jake suddenly stopped as he suddenly moved to the right.
In the bushes, there was a red glint. Something was within the bushes, moving as fast as it could away from Jake.
p
"-at any time. Damn it. We were already spotted. Since this goblin saw us, then the other goblins will have spotted as and reported back. Careful. What I just slayed was the weakest of the goblins, a scout goblin with only agility and stealth. There are warrior goblins, archer goblins, mage goblins, goblin of every class. Spread out in all directions. Group wise. Captains, I am going to trust your judgement this time. Kill as many as you can!" Jake said.
"Do you want a group to stay with you, guild leader?" someone asked.
"I am not that weak. You will see soon enough." Jake chuckled. He twirled his sword as he moved in a blur once again.
