Chapter 1046: Our Future Babies Are At Stake
After Ethan and Chloe left the Fortress, all the high-ranking Firbolgs gathered in the Great Hall, where meetings that held great importance for the Sylvan Clan were held.
"Everyone here probably knows what we are going to talk about," Lady Arawina said. "The time has come for the Sylvan Clan to make a choice. To fight or to flee-there will be no middle ground."
Everyone inside the room stared at their Great Shaman with solemn expressions on their faces.
This was not an easy decision to make, and it could very well decide whether the Sylvan Clan would live or perish, buried away in the pages of history.
"I'm tired of running away," the Barbarian Firbolg whom Ethan and Chloe met at the Gate of the Fortress, Elmhart, said. "And even if we run, Ethan already said that the invaders have also descended in Midgard. There is no longer a safe place for us to hide.
"If we stay here in the Sylvan Realm, our fate might become similar to the Giantess of Janvidr. People will not know that monsters from another world have invaded, and by the time they find out, it will already be too late."
"I agree with Elmhart," the Fey-Touched Firbolg, Faran, commented. "We are one of the Guardians who protect the world from corruption. Choosing to flee against the Fomorians was one thing, but fleeing away from invaders who plan to destroy our world is another.
"This is a battle that we cannot ignore. It is not only the Fate of our race that hangs in the balance, but the entirety of this realm."
"That's right!" a Firbolg with red hair shouted. "If I am to die, I want to die a death worth dying for. Only then can I live a life worth living! I no longer want to hide and cower like a coward! The time of running away must end! We must raise up our arms and fight!"
One by one, the Firbolgs raised their arms in agreement to battle.
They didn't like conflicts and only wanted to live in peace.
But if that peace was threatened, then there was nothing else they could do but fight.
Just like what was said earlier, if they didn't fight now, then when would they?
When there was no longer anyone with the strength to fight?
When all hope was lost?
When everyone was dead?
Lady Arawina couldn't help but smile faintly. Despite her old age, she could still feel her blood boiling inside her body.
This was not because of fear, but because of the determination to fight.
"Very well." Lady Arawina, who was the Great Shaman of the Sylvan Clan, stood up. "To War!"
"""To War!"""
"""To War!""n
"""To War!"""
"""To War!"">"
"Brothers and sisters, ignite the forges!" Lady Arawina declared. "Create weapons for war, and bless the ancient totems of our people. Craft magic scrolls that everyone can wield!
"Old man, Balam, you are the Historian of our Clan. Make sure to write this tale, so it will be passed on to the rest of the world. Let it be known that the Sylvan Clan didn't turn a blind eye when the world was in peril."
An Old Man chuckled and patted his chest.
"Leave it to me, Arawina," Balam replied. "The world shall know that the Sylvan Clan are not cowards."
The Great Shaman nodded and issued a series of orders.
Everyone busied themselves in preparation for the battle that would be happening in a week's time.
Meanwhile, in Ethan's camp, the young man glanced in the direction of the Fortress, a faint smile etched on his face.
"What's wrong?" Chloe asked.
"The FIrbolgs are going to help and are preparing for war," Ethan replied.
The young lady glanced at the direction of the Fortress and patted her chest.
"Good," Chloe said. "With their help, we might stand a chance."
Although the Sylvan Clan only numbered in the thousands, they were still Giants and wielded great strength and powers.
They were a force to be reckoned with and, with their assistance, the chances of them succeeding was high.
The next day...
Ethan lay on the bed naked, while Chloe etched some runic markings on his back using the Stone of Destiny.
"Does it hurt?" Chloe asked.
"I don't feel any pain," Ethan replied. "But, it's ticklish."
Chloe sighed in relief as she continued her work. "I've been planning to do this ever since I unsealed the power of Lia Fail. However, I didn't expect that I would do it here in the Sylvan Realm."
Ethan was a True King, and the symbols Chloe was etching on his body were runic symbols that would enhance his strength and magic drastically.
It was a special kind of magic that only the High Priestess of the Stone of Destiny could wield, and it wasn't something that she would do to anybody even if they were True Kings.
The only King in her heart was Ethan, so the power she wielded belonged to him as well.
Sweat formed on her forehead as she finished etching half of the runic symbols on Ethan's body.
It took her nearly three hours to complete the inscription, but she was satisfied with the results.
His back was now covered in runes, including the backside of his neck, legs, and arms.
"Okay, time for the other side," Chloe said, lightly tapping Ethan's backside and giggling
afterward.
Ethan obeyed and gave his lover the "I'm going to pay you back later for that" gaze, which Chloe pretended to not see.
The young man laid down on the bed and looked at his lover, who was about to etch Runic Symbols on him once again.
However, he raised his hand and stopped her.
"Rest for a bit," Ethan said. "You look pale and exhausted. It would be bad if you fainted
halfway."
"... I guess you do have a point," Chloe replied. "But let me etch in one place first."
A mischievous smile appeared on her face, as she reached out to touch little Ethan, which twitched in her hand.
Ethan blinked once then twice as she looked at the devilish smile on Chloe's face that told him "I know what you did last summer."
"... Be gentle, okay?" Ethan said when she saw the Stone of Destiny nearing his manhood. "Our future babies are at stake."
"Relax," Chloe replied, a blush appearing on her face. "I'm doing this exactly for our future
babies."
Half an hour later, the young lady laid down on the bed beside Ethan, feeling tired and sleepy.
The young man allowed Chloe to use him as a hug pillow as she drifted into a dreamless sleep with a smile on her face.
Ethan could feel the power surging inside his body. He even thought that this time, he would not lose to Illumina even if they fought for three hundred rounds.
As the two lovers laid beside each other, the Sylvan Clan was more lively than ever.
Everyone had established what role they would play, which made all of them busy.
It had been hundreds of years since they had made such preparations, and this time, they were
going all out.
The young man closed his eyes as he thought of the lonely Giantess in the Realm of Janvidr, who had protected her realm against such invasions for hundreds of years.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
'Wait for us, Lady Xanda," Ethan opened his eyes and a blue glow similar to a lightning bolt
emanated from the depths of his pupils.
"We're coming soon."
