Chapter 98 - ELLENA'S JEALOUSLY
"Honey ... can you prepare office clothes for me, please?"
Not wanting to see Ellena too focused on the phone call from Keenan, Lucas quickly distracted his wife by hugging her from behind.
Ellena arched an eyebrow, surprised. Wasn't Lucas just mad at her? Put the phone back on the nightstand.
"Does your hip still hurt?" Ellena asked as she turned around and at that moment Lucas stretched his arms.
'My pain is nothing compared to seeing you with that man, Elle!' Lucas thought in response.
Lucas then smiled as if he wanted to show that he was okay, but his hip was still sore.
"I'm fine." Lucas lied. For the sake of seeing his wife smile, he was willing to endure the pain in his body.
"Sorry I didn't mean to." Ellena whispered regretfully. She shouldn't have been so rude to Lucas. However, she really didn't have the slightest intention of harming Lucas.
"It's okay, Honey. You don't have to worry." Lucas seemed to smooth the hair that covered part of his wife's face.
"You must be very sick." Ellena put on a pitiful expression while frowning.
Lucas smiled, before he responded to Ellena's words. "It's okay. I'm a strong man, Elle...." Lucas paused for a moment, then approached Ellena's ear. "Even if I have to serve you every night, I'm still strong," he whispered in a sensual tone.
It suddenly managed to make Ellena froze while widening her perfect eyes. What a perverted brain! How could Lucas say that to her who was still too innocent for anything sensual.
Ellena shifted her body slightly away, then glared at Lucas' face. "I thought you ate something wrong, to turn into a pervert like that!" Ellena quipped slightly pursed her lips.
Lucas stifled a laugh as he looked at Ellena. "What? Perverted? Why is that?" He asked, frowning, as if he didn't understand what his wife meant.
"Th-that—Ah ... never mind, let's not talk about it anymore. I'll prepare work clothes for you. Hurry up and take a shower!"
Ellena seemed to divert the conversation, then left the room. She walked down the stairs one by one. Lucas followed behind her.
"You just woke up?"
A familiar voice immediately made them gasp, just as Ellena had just reached the bottom of the stairs. Ellena and Lucas reflexively stopped their steps, then turned towards the source of the sound.
In the living room not far from the stairs. Briana, who was busy arranging the flower vase on the table, immediately turned to them with a smile.
"Yes, Ma'am. Sorry we missed it," replied Ellena as she stepped back into the living room, even with Lucas who also did the same.
"You guys sleep upstairs?" Briana asked after Ellena stood in front of her.
"Y-yes, Ma'am." Ellena answered a little nervously, while Lucas who was standing behind her seemed to hold back a smile seeing how nervous Ellena was getting a question like that from her mother.
Not only Lucas. Briana did the same thing. He seemed to widen a smile, as if he felt there was something odd about Ellena's attitude, even though he was only asking what he thought was normal.
"Lucas, you're not going to the office?" Briana slightly tilted her head to the right, looking at Lucas who was standing right behind Ellena.
Lucas smiled for a moment, before responding to his mother-in-law's question. "I'll be leaving in fifteen minutes, Ma'am." He answered, stepping forward and standing right next to Ellena.
"Looks like you two spent the night together too late to wake up late like this." said Briana, which was more of a sarcastic tone.
Receiving such a response, Ellena's eyes slightly rounded and looked even more nervous. Of course she became embarrassed, what was the meaning of her mother's words? How did Briana know that they spent the night alone?
"M-Ma'am, sorry I have to prepare Lucas' needs, I'm sorry," said Ellena intending to quickly escape from her mother, then quickly walked into Lucas' room.
"I also have to get ready soon. I'm sorry, Ma'am." Lucas followed Ellena into the room.
"You see, I'm just happy to see us sleeping in the same room, hmm!" Lucas teased once they were in the room.
"Don't make it up. What I know is that we always sleep in the same room. Never mind, don't tease me anymore, hurry up and take a shower! I feel sorry for your coquettish employee, you must have really missed you!" Ellena replied at length, before she opened Lucas' wardrobe that towered over her.
Getting a lengthy response from his wife, Lucas frowned. He wondered why Ellena suddenly talked about her coquettish employees? Ah, does that mean that Ellena is starting to get jealous of that woman.
"Oh, or maybe your ex is waiting there," said Ellena, which suddenly made Lucas raise his eyebrows.
"What do you mean? Who is the coquettish employee you mean?" Lucas came closer and looked at Ellena questioningly.
"Celine, isn't that your employee and your big fan?" Ellena answered without further ado while holding a black coat that was taken from the closet.
Lucas seemed to be smiling. As Ellena knows that in the office there are several women who admire him, in fact almost all women who are not married seem to idolize him. However, he never paid any attention to them once, including Celine who was a little outspoken by showing her concern and superiority in front of Lucas.
'I'm sure he's jealous of those women.' Lucas mumbled confidently.
"I didn't know at all that there were employees who idolized me." Lucas replied flatly and pretended not to know. "Then why are you suddenly talking about my ex?" He asked curiously and wanted to be more certain that the allegation about Ellena's jealousy was true.
"Why? Did I say something wrong? I'm sure they're all waiting for you there." Ellena seemed to get up and put Lucas' coat on the bed. "I'm sure they'll be disappointed that you married me!" She added in an annoyed tone.
Ah, for some reason Ellena looks so annoyed about those women, even though she started it herself.
This of course made Lucas smile even more. He approached Ellena, then landed a kiss on the cheek of his wife without saying anything. After that, he went to the bathroom, remembering that it was getting late.
***
This morning Lucas walked with a bright smile, treading every floor made of white tiles. He took a definite step forward with a focused gaze on his face without diminishing his smile in the slightest. Even greetings from several employees seemed to be responded to with enthusiasm, not as usual. His cold demeanor seemed to just disappear.
There was a clear look of happiness on his face. Yes, of course it happened because of Ellena, not because of anything. He really felt happy because he could spend the night with his wife, even though he didn't do anything more that he had been waiting for and always in the shadows every time he was going to sleep.
Ah, just being able to hug Ellena already raised his spirits in the morning. What if he could do more than just hug his wife? Ah, somehow imagining it, obviously he would be very happy.
It's okay if he can't have Ellena completely, at least today he knows that Ellena has started to open her heart to him. This was evident from the attitude of Ellena who gradually began to accept treatment from him.
Lucas entered the elevator alone. Quickly the elevator managed to take him to the 3rd floor. As soon as the elevator rang and opened the automatic doors, Lucas immediately stepped out. However, he immediately stopped his steps when he found two familiar figures talking not far from him, right to the left of his private room.
The two familiar figures turned their heads, as soon as they knew Lucas had appeared there.
"Lucas? Finally you came too. I was waiting for you," said Michelle, grinning happily because of Lucas' presence.
"You?" Lucas approached Michelle who was standing opposite Adley.
"Good morning, Mr. Boss!" said Adley looking relaxed and suddenly distracted Lucas for a moment. However, there was no response. Lucas then turned his head back to Michelle.
"Why are you here all of a sudden? Shouldn't you be in the hospital?" Lucas asked as he stood by Adley and Michelle.
"I've been pretty healthy, so last night I immediately decided to go back to the apartment, after you got home." Michelle explained later.
"Are you sure you're healed?" Lucas asked to confirm.
Of course Lucas was surprised by Michelle who now looks much healthier than last night. Why did the woman recover so quickly from the illness she suffered last night, when she knew that she was seriously ill.
Maybe it's because Michelle doesn't want to show her weakness in front of others, so she tries to hide her pain by pretending to be cheerful. That's what Lucas believes, because Michelle has always been like that.
"As you can see, Lucas. Don't I look fine?" Michelle replied with a small smile.
"You should just rest, don't do much." Lucas replied flatly.
Of course Lucas felt uncomfortable with Michelle's presence in his office. However, it is impossible if he chased the woman away, while last night they had agreed that they would still be on good terms even though they were not in a special relationship.
"Come on, Lucas ... I'm not a kid anymore. I can take good care of myself," replied Michelle, who was a little carried away by taking Lucas' words as special attention to her, when in fact it wasn't like that. Lucas was actually making fun of him. It's just that Michelle is not aware.
"Well, it's up to you," Lucas replied as if he didn't want to show too much care.
"Oh yes, it turns out that Mr. Adley is my next door neighbor. We met earlier when we came out of our respective apartments," Michelle told me.
"Oh yes?" Lucas turned to Adley as he confirmed what Michelle was saying, though he felt sure she wasn't lying.
"Yes, we met by chance and it turns out that Miss Michelle will go to meet you. Yes, I invited her to go together," explained Adley, who immediately understood Lucas' gaze.
Lucas seemed to nod his head slowly without saying anything. 'Good, that means you'll have plenty of opportunities to spend time together.. I'm sure Adley won't leave Michelle idle in his 0apartment,' He mumbled to himself.
