Chapter 100: WBT: Wil vs One part-2

Chapter 100: WBT: Wil vs One part-2

Looking at the incoming arrows, Wil thought he was able to dodge successfully because of a large distance.

But, as Wil tried to dodge to the right, he realized the third arrow coming towards him and almost about to pierce his forehead while he was only able to recover around 6 million.

Meanwhile one of the other two arrows struck the healer fallen angel, Dromeus who was standing behind him.

As their life is bounded to a crown, Dromeus didn't die a true death and his soul was sent back to the crown and a 36 hours cooldown appeared on the skill.

At such a crisis, suddenly, a memory appeared in Wil's mind.

Six years ago, at an archery training field.

A 13-year-old Wil has his eyes covered by a cloth and he has an apple on his head. Before him, stood a young woman in her mid-thirties with a bow and arrow.

Without any warning, she shot an arrow and it split the apple into two as he raised his hand.

"Again"

As she shot an arrow again, this time, Wil reacted a bit early and his hand was pierced by the arrow but didn't bleed because of protective gloves.

"Not good enough. I told you a lot of times. Empty your mind. Use nothing but ears. Remember the training in the forest. All you have to concentrate on the ears to pick the right timing."

Back to the present;

As the third arrow about to pierce his forehead, Wil unknowingly closed his eyes and caught it with bare hands at the right timing, shocking the audience as well as "One".

Looking at the arrow in his hand, Wil mumbled, "The power of an arrow lies in its arrowhead. As long as I can pick the right timing, I can easily deflect it."

The words from one more memory began to flow in his head when he was only 9.

"You won't leave for the home unless you finish your assignment. Now, get back to work. Archers don't blindly shoot the arrows. Based on the distance, you should know at what speed and at what angle, you should release the arrow to deflect opponent's arrows or shoot him."

As "One" decides to test his limits and shot three arrows once again, Wil raised his bow and followed his instincts of aiming at a 30-degree angle upwards and released it sloppily.

The arrow that was sloppily released hit the middle of the arrow from upwards and deflected its position. As Wil just stood on the same spot, the middle arrow that was deflected missed Wil and passed him.

After failing several times in a row, "One" mumbled in seriousness, "this guy is a trained one by an expert in real life. Let's increase the pace then. It's been a while since I got to meet such an opponent. I shouldn't waste such an opportunity."

Meanwhile, Wil is trying to remember his teacher's lessons. Even though for the body, it's only been 6 or 7 years, for a person like Wil, who came from 5 years of future, it's been more than 12 years.

So, many of his childhood memories that are only filled with nothing but hardships were disappeared from his memory as the time passed. But, now, Wil is again trying to remember those horror memories.

In the middle of some random forest, 12-year-old was concentrating on his surroundings empty-handed.

Andrea's voice resounding around him, "empty your mind, Wil. Make your mind blank like a dark space and just put the entire focus on your ears. Now, tell me. What did you hear?"

After concentrating for a while, Wil replied, "um, I hear birds chirping up ahead. There is a sound of violent winds on the right. I bet they are from the nearby desert."

"What else? And also can you spot me and tell the distance between us?"

The boy concentrated further and replied, "You are standing behind me. Judging by the sound, there are at least 10 meters between us but not more than 20 meters. I only wonder why you are standing that far. Hmm, now I can hear"

Just then, Wil dashed to the left and an arrow shot by Andrea missed the mark and she shot another one, which Wil barely dodged it and got his upper right arm grazed while moving to the left.

"It's good that you were able to figure that it's an attack but you didn't dodge it properly.

Listen carefully. In a survival, when you can't spot where the attack will land or the direction it is from, you should always trust the instincts of your body and crouch down or bend.

It's because almost all ranged attacks from far away distance will aim for the chest, neck, eyes, or forehead. That means, above your waist in general if your attacker is on the same ground as you."

Back to the present;

"One" saw Wil closed his eyes as he was now focusing on dodging the arrows even though his attack speed is doubled because of the speed scroll. He found Wil was sometimes moving in a zigzag manner and sometimes crouching and even lying on the floor for a second and rolled on the floor to dodge the next arrow. There was nothing elegant about it but still, none of the arrows were able to hit him.

What he doesn't know is that Wil was just using his accuracy and the speed to improve himself by bringing back the skills that he forgot a long time ago. Since his body is in optimal condition, Wil was able to get used to it.

After a whole minute, Wil finally opened his eyes, and looking at the upcoming arrows, Wil whispered under his breath with a grin, "thank you, One. Someday, I'll repay this favor but now, it's my turn to attack."

"Gravity Suppression"

All the arrows that were about to pierce his stomach and chest fell on the ground suddenly, and Wil started to run towards One, surprising him for a second before he calmed down quickly and shot another triplet arrow.

"What"

This time, "One" was once again surprised to find his arrows fell on to the ground as soon as they travel only 50 meters and Wil, who's movement speed increased by 300% for 10 seconds because of Dash skill, continued to run towards him.

As a popular pro gamer, he didn't use Dash and run away to maintain the distance even though there was something fishy about Wil's behavior and his attacks are failing.

"One" thought that if he maintains distance without Wil attacking him, it would make him look like a coward in front of millions of players that are watching.

He decided to maintain the distance at least more than 35 meters as he was only concerned about that unique freezing skill's range from his guildmates. But, who would have expected this stupid pride will cost him a lot.

It's exactly the same thing, Wil betted on before he made a strategy. Just as he expected, "One" didn't run away but this time, he decided to release a skill for the first time in this tournament.

"Circular disk Arrow"

It's a peak ranked skill that'll revolve around the opponent at an extremely high speed thereby trapping them in the middle while the user controls when to release the arrow and attack their opponent from which direction.

But, before the magic energy arrow even circles around Wil, it fell on to the ground because of the high gravitational pressure created by Wil in his 50 meters surroundings and it stuck on to the ground.

Meanwhile, Wil leaped towards "One" dodging the arrow that was revolving around him while sticking on to the ground and reached 60 meters range thereby creating high gravitational pressure on "One," who started kneeling struggling to lift the bow.

As the distance decreased further down to 35 meters, Wil smiled as he spoke, "Absolute freeze."

Freezing in the Ice, One thought, "I lost." And transmitted his thoughts to the system and Wil, who conjured a fire arrow received a system notification.

*Ding. One admits defeat. You won the match.

*Ding. Congratulations on making it to top-32. You received 5000 battle coins as a reward.

Along with the audience from various parts of the world, even Wil was stupefied on the spot for a while before pinching his neck, "Is this real? 'One' admitted defeat? I I defeated "One"? Hahaha I'm the winner."
