Chapter 262 Three Investments
Chapter 262 Three Investments
In Arthur's past life when Franzen Electronics shut down, the owner was in debt. As such, he was looking to sell all assets, but unfortunately for him, most of the equipment in the factory was obsolete as well and only had scrap value.
But even after selling all things as scrap for recycling, the owner was still unable to pay off the debt. This only left him with the sale of the land, which was not an easy task either. There was no way the man was going to sell the land at any price other than the minimum he needed to repay his debt.
As such, whenever he got offers he denied them all as none of them matched his needs. Finally, it all worked out in his favor as Hypnotek bought the land from him for a price that was many times higher than what he had been asking for.
Arthur knew that there was no way he would be able to buy the land himself when the factory shut down. Even if he had the cash, people would find it suspicious that a nobody like him was buying the land of a factory like that. The owner would pick up on that too, and would reject it, suspecting that there was something Arthur knew that he didn't.
Even if the chances of this happening were low, Arthur did not wish to risk that.
A more stable way of acquiring it without raising suspicion would be if Arthur simply invested in the company and bought its shares. Once he owned enough shares, he could even buy out the entire company outright, which would only be seen as natural.
'Of course, buying it outright would be a loss. I'll buy it for cheap when the factory shuts down. Since I'll already be a major investor, it should be cheaper for me.' Arthur thought to himself.
Having invested in the three companies Arthur's was now left with a much smaller amount than before.
>Account Balance: 2,395 UC<
Arthur had invested 10,000 UC each in Asca Medicorp and Yogel Nutraceuticals while investing 5000 in Franzen Microelectronics.
He didn't invest too much right away in Franzen, as it would affect the overall pricing in the long term. If massive amounts of investment were poured into Franzen Microelectronics, the value of the other companies would change as well, and attract other investors.
People would pour their money thinking there was something special about the company, thereby spoiling Arthur's plan.
"I need to invest only enough such that the overall value does not change too much" Arthur muttered to himself.
Of course, 5000 UC was still a small amount for the company and wasn't even 0.01% of the company.
But once the others who owned its shares sold, the same 5000 would become more than 0.01%. Arthur would be the only one who continued to invest, while others withdrew from a dying company.
'Balancing between the sellers and my buying shouldn't be hard, as long as I keep an eye on it every day.' Arthur thought to himself.
~hiss~
Done with this work, Arthur got out of the Dream Pod and made some dinner.
It was 8 PM and he still had some time until he could log back into the game. He finished his dinner and watched some TV passing the time.
~DING~
<Morpheus Online is available for Login!>
Once the notification popped up, Arthur dove back into the Dream Pod.
>User Grey Watcher confirmed<
>Logging into Morpheus Online!<
~shua~
With a swirling mass of colors swimming past Arthur's vision, his avatar manifested in the wilderness.
~Creak~
~rustle~
The tree branch underneath him created, shaking the leaves on the tree.
"Hmm… No enemies nearby." Arthur said as he peeked down from the tree.
Before logging out, he had chosen to climb into a tree. It would provide him with a safe spot and prevent him from getting ambushed. And even if there were enemies when he spawned in, he would have more than enough time to plan his next course of action.
Thankfully this time, there was no enemy and he could get down easily.
"Come out Brambles." Arthur summoned the beetle, letting it enjoy the sunny day.
"KIRI." Brambles looked around him, finding them to be in a new area.
Various scents were picked up by him, making him alert.
"You sense them?" Arthur asked.
"Ki," Brambles nodded his head.
"How many?" Arthur asked.
"Kihi," the beast replied.
"Six of them… Shouldn't be a problem at all. We have over 300 of them to hunt anyways." Arthur said before looking in the direction where Brambles had sensed the enemies.
"Let's go kill some goblins." Arthur said with a smile. "Oh and Brambles… You can do whatever you want to them." He added.
"KIHIHI!" The Beetle was excited hearing that.
The goblins didn't have many usable materials other than their teeth and nails, as such Arthur didn't mind Arthur utterly turning them into a pancake. The fate of the goblins would be to become pig feed or fertilizer anyway. And even if Brambles did crush them too much, the Teeth and Nails were small enough to survive.
'Actually, it might be easier to pick out the teeth and nails from minced meat.' Arthur reckoned.
~BUZZ~
Having gotten a free rein, Brambles flew towards the location of the Goblins.
Arthur too ran after him, intending to wipe out the party of goblins in one go.
~BOOM~
~CRACK~CRACK~CRACK~
>Dragon Horn Beetle has killed a Goblin!< x 4
>Dragon Horn Beetle has obtained 3% experience!<
But before Arthur even reached there, Brambles had already begun his work.
The beetle had directly smacked the unsuspecting goblins with his horn.
"GI!GI!" The remaining three goblins shouted in shock, not knowing where the beast had appeared from.
~SLICK~
[-85% HP]
[Critical Hit]
"Gigi?" Unfortunately for them, Arthur was ready to kill them too.
"This'll be a decent hunt," Arthur said and flicked the Key Spear, killing the injured goblin and slashing the other two that were near it!
