Chapter 64
Chapter 64 - Goodwill
“I need to find a girl with good qualities to enhance the genetics of my future offspring,” Xiao Laoshi said with a hint of shyness.
“Why don't you pursue that girl over there?” Ye Hao suggested, after a quick scan of the room, pinpointing a potential match for Xiao Laoshi.
“Xiao Laoshi, that girl won't be interested in you,” Zheng Xiaolong chuckled. “She's already been charmed by a sophomore.”
“School's only been in session for two days. How can these girls be so forward?” Xiao Laoshi complained, clearly frustrated.
“What's there to worry about?” Yuan Gaoxing laughed. “Riverdale College is full of girls. Sure, our department has fewer, but there's an abundance in the other departments. Just be patient.”
Ho Jing was impressed by Ye Hao's exceptional learning abilities.
He executed the movements Ho Jing taught with flawless precision.
Ho Jing watched closely.
During the marching drills, Ye Hao maintained a consistent 25-centimeter gap between his legs and the ground, a precision typical of a professionally trained honor guard.
?How did Ye Hao, so young, achieve such a feat?
Instructors typically loathe when students frequently ask for leave, but witnessing Ye Hao's dedication, Ho Jing's irritation melted away.
As Ye Hao was heading to the canteen after completing his military training, his phone buzzed.
“Ye Hao, where are you?”
“I'm off to the canteen for a meal.”
“Can you help me move some stuff after you're done eating?”
“Sure.”
Zhang Lan eyed Ye Hao with a hint of suspicion. “You seem pretty busy, huh?”
“Didn't you notice my phone was silent all morning? Unlike yours, which hasn't stopped vibrating.”
“How did you know?”
“Come on, we're sitting so close. How could I not notice?”
Zhang Lan let out a laugh.
Ye Hao must have been keeping an eye on her to catch such a detail.
When Zhang Lan suggested they go to the cafeteria together, Ye Hao certainly couldn't say no.
Soon enough, Ye Hao discovered one of the perks of dining with Zhang Lan: no waiting in line.
Several guys were quick to offer her their spot.
Zhang Lan wouldn't dream of cutting in line, but when offered a seat, it would be rude to decline.
After lunch, Ye Hao offered to walk Zhang Lan back to her dormitory. His gesture wasn't solely out of thoughtfulness; it just so happened that Tang Pianpian's dorm was conveniently close to Zhang Lan's.
Zhang Lan was overjoyed, sensing that Ye Hao was becoming increasingly attentive to her needs.
Upon reaching Tang Pianpian's dorm building, Ye Hao called her. Soon after, Tang Pianpian emerged, lugging a large suitcase.
“Wow, that's a huge suitcase,” Ye Hao remarked, taken aback.
It was even larger than the one Guo Xiu had purchased for him.
“I have another one,” Tang Pianpian said, then dashed back to her dorm.
Shortly, she returned with a second suitcase in tow.
“I need to grab the blanket and quilt,” Tang Pianpian mentioned, to which Ye Hao quickly responded, “Leave those in the dorm. We'll pick up new ones at the supermarket later.”
“The beds in the master and secondary bedrooms are both two meters wide. Our school beds are only 1.2 meters, so they won't fit,” Ye Hao explained with a chuckle.
“But a set of blankets and quilts can cost over a thousand yuan,” Tang Pianpian replied, hesitating.
Hearing this, Ye Hao surmised that Tang Pianpian's family might not be well-off.
He smiled reassuringly and said, “It's my rental, so naturally, I should be the one to buy the bedding.”
“But I'm living there, too,” Tang Pianpian said, her cheeks flushing.
“In that case, you can work for me,” Ye Hao suggested after a moment's thought.
“Work?” Tang Pianpian looked up, puzzled.
“You can take care of the cleaning at home,” he said.
Tang Pianpian had already considered taking on the household chores.
“Having the school beauty do the cleaning is quite the honor, not something just anyone can claim,” Ye Hao said with a smile. “Plus, I'm not keen on befriending people who beat around the bush.”
With Ye Hao putting it that way, Tang Pianpian found it difficult to decline.
After delivering the two suitcases to Blossomfall Chateau, Tang Pianpian set about organizing her belongings in the master bedroom.
Ye Hao surveyed the room.
Just then, his phone began to ring.
“Who's calling?” Ye Hao inquired, noticing the unfamiliar number.
“It's May, Miss Lin's secretary.”
“May? Is there an issue?”
“Miss Lin needs to discuss an urgent matter with you. I'm currently at the entrance of your school.”
“I'm at Blossomfall Chateau at the moment.” Ye Hao thought it best to check it out.
“Please wait for me at the entrance of Blossomfall Chateau for three minutes.”
After a brief contemplation, Ye Hao headed to the master bedroom.
“Pianpian.”
“Yes, what is it?”
“I have some errands to run this afternoon. Would you mind picking up some bedding from the supermarket?”
“Here's my bank card, the PIN is 123456,” Ye Hao instructed, “and don't skimp on quality.”
“I'll make a thoughtful selection,” Tang Pianpian replied gently.
Tang Pianpian's upbringing had taught her to look for value for money when shopping.
But with Ye Hao's explicit instructions, she wouldn't dare compromise on quality.
As Ye Hao approached the gates of Blossomfall Chateau, a Rolls-Royce was already there waiting.
Seeing Ye Hao, May hurried over to apologize, “I'm sorry, I forgot you had military training.”
Military training typically finished early, which explained why May had arrived later than expected to collect Ye Hao.
“No worries.”
Regardless of Ye Hao's situation, May felt obliged to offer an explanation.
She was well aware that he was no ordinary student. Even Xiaolan, a seven-star expert, paled in comparison!
Xiaolan protected national dignitaries, yet Ye Hao could command the attention of the most senior officials within the Red Wall if he so chose.
The Emerald Quest Hotel was among the most opulent five-star hotels in Glento.
Ye Hao followed May through the grand corridor to room 666.
Two elegant attendants opened the door with reverence.
Lin Rou'er, engrossed in her documents, immediately rose and approached Ye Hao.
“I was so absorbed in my paperwork that I forgot to greet you. Please forgive me.”
“Miss Lin, there's no need for apologies.”
“Miss Lin?” A look of displeasure crossed Lin Rou'er's face. “Are we really that distant with each other?”
Ye Hao was taken aback.
Are we supposed to be close?
I only met you for the first time yesterday.
Yet, from Lin Rou'er's remark, Ye Hao gleaned an underlying message.
Lin Rou'er was seeking a more intimate connection.
“Rou'er?” Seeing that Lin Rou'er appeared somewhat older, Ye Hao tentatively addressed her as such.
A smile finally graced Lin Rou'er's features.
“Since you've called me Rou'er, I owe you a welcoming gift.” With that, Lin Rou'er retrieved an elegant box from her briefcase.
