Chapter 41 Real Life (3)
You obtained 1000 coins.
When Jake received that notification, he confirmed that they had won. Unfortunately, the boss didn't drop anything… Still, that was fine since the reward of the mission was magic weapons. Once again, they were forcefully Teleported back to the crystal server town, and Jake once again saw a barrier around the crystal of the dungeon.
You obtained 2000 coins.
Your fame increased by two hundred points.
You obtained Storm Scythe.
Cyclone Strike, + 05 speed (0%). Master this weapon to gain the skill and the status bonuses permanently.
Durability: 15/15
Cyclone Strike: a full swing that grants you the chance to strike all enemies around you and sending them away with the power of the wind. The damage caused will be equal to your strength and will increase by one percent per level and multiplied by the number of enemies hit.
Cost: 10 stamina.
Jake frowned when he noticed that his new weapon was a scythe. It had a silver body, but the curvy blade was green. Just like the description of the skill said, it was a weapon enchanted with the power of the wind. Using it for a while will be difficult, but experimenting with new weapons could be a good experience for Jake.
When Jake looked around, he saw Lana and Louise armed with gauntlets and a whip. It seemed that bone of them gained items that truly would benefit them. Still, that was something that was bound to happen since they couldn't choose what type of item they wanted. In the end, they will have to sell those.
"That seems interesting… Do you want to sell?" Jake asked Lana.
"These gauntlets? Do you want to punch monsters as well?" Lana frowned.
"I suppose it would be easier to master those than a scythe, anyway, what is your answer?" Jake asked.
"Let's see… I can give it to you if you tell us where you are from," Lana said.
"Hey, hey… are you really that dumb?" Jake asked. "You can easily buy another item that can grant you another skill like Odin's Blessing. Why do you want to know such a thing that is essentially useless inside this game?"
"Just for curiosity," Lana shrugged. "Besides, you already know where we are from, so it isn't fair that we don't know the same."
"Your logic makes no sense whatsoever," Jake said. "Well, if that is your price, then I am fine. I also live in Atlantic City."
"You are lying…" Lana frowned. "That would be way too weird."
"I suppose, but that is why I told you that I lived in Japan, because I heard you two saying that you live in Atlantic City," Jake said. "If you lived in another place, I wouldn't have to lie."
"That makes sense, still, you will have to confirm us that later," Lana said and then tossed the gloves toward Jake.
You obtained Brutal Gloves.
Sonic Punch, + 05 strength (0%), master this weapon to gain the skill and the status bonuses permanently.
Durability: 15/15
Sonic Punch: by activating this skill, you can charge toward the target three times faster than your normal speed to deliver a powerful punch. The skill level determines the distance you can cross with this skill. The damage will be equal to your strength.
Cost: 10 stamina.
That skill would be really useful in his hands, so Jake couldn't help but wonder if Lana just asked a stupid question in order to give it to him. Still, that seemed too good to be true. Lana wasn't that kind of sweet girl.
"… I guess it is enough for today," Lana said after a long yawn. "All this grinding and the last fight exhausted me, I am going to sleep early today."
"I will do the same," Louise said. "Let's meet up at the same time tomorrow before the next mission, all right?"
"Roger that!" Lana nodded.
After that, both of them logged off. While Jake was a bit tired, he still had energy for another round. However, before that, he had to sell all his extra luggage, and as usual, he went to where Luke was to sell everything.
"It seems you made a killing this time," Luke said. "Do you want to buy the shield that will grant you another class?"
"You can even see how many coins I have…" Jake frowned. "For someone who spends the day here, you sure have some high level skills."
"I have a trick or two up my sleeve," Luke shrugged.
"I am going to pass," Jake said. "Until I find a truly difficult mission, I won't seek classes left and right. That will decrease the difficulty level and the fun."
"Well, if you cleared all the missions of the first and the second map, then you will soon find a difficult mission available for you," Luke said and then smiled.
"How would you know that?" Jake asked. "Is that something all players experience if they achieve certain things?"
"Who knows?" Luke shrugged again.
Jake let out a sigh. That was right. Luke wasn't only selling items. He was also an information broker. He wouldn't give Jake so much Intel for free every single time. He would give one at a time just to make sure that he would become a regular customer.
