This Beast-Tamer is a Little Strange

Chapter 39: Chapter 39: Mission-Armordillo Complete

Despite catching the Armordillos at an especially vulnerable time. They still manage to fully curl up within the second of one spotting of him.

His spear hit the back of the shell without even leaving a mark.

Clang Clang Clang

He tried giving a full blow to all of them with no success.

"Damn, your defense really is strong…" Kain said in amazement.

Seeing that he wasn't having any success breaking through. Kain decided to remove the cartridge filled with Bea contaminated water and poured it onto the shell. Hoping that there may be some minuscule opening in the shell that Bea could take advantage of.

After 5 minutes of waiting and receiving no indication from Bea of a successful infection, he knew that plan B had failed.

"Hmmm…. Time to go with plan C"

Kain began to roll the male Armordillo towards the water. Thankfully, with renewed confidence in its defence, it still stayed curled up. Once by the shore, he sent Bea into the water and push the Armordillo in.

"Let's see how you stay curled up when you need to swim"

After all, as land animals they were unable to breathe underwater. He will need to uncurl to swim to the surface eventually.

Kain went back to where the others were. All were still curled up where he left them.

"Yeah, your defence is tough. But having too much confidence in it being able to protect you from everything will be your downfall"

He rolled two more adults into the water.

He thought about getting rid of all 4 adults, but he barely had enough room in the space ring for 3 adult shells.

Also, since living things cannot enter space rings and he really had no way of carrying an infant across the river to sell in the city, he decided to leave one of the adult females behind to take care of it.

Standing next to the shore, Kain sensed that they were unable to stay curled up under the water after 10 minutes, allowing for Bea to infect them.

Less than a minute later, the bodies of the two females floated to the surface.

*Ding. Host has killed two White-grade spiritual beasts, obtaining 2 GP*

Kain dragged the bodies to shore to avoid them being taken away by the river.

After 5 more minutes, Kain still did not receive a notification about the male.

"He never used any skills so I was unable to see the colour of his spiritual power, but I guess he had already upgraded to red-grade spiritual power."

Kain jumped into the river and found it writhing in pain as it tried to swim to the surface for air.

Kain stabbed it through the head.

*Ding. Host has killed one Red-grade spiritual beast, obtaining 5 GP*

Kain dragged the heavy body to shore and began to take the shells off all 3 bodies.

"Ugh…" Kain realized that he had stuffed the ring to the brim and was unable to fit the male shell.

He removed some of the least valuable materials from the space, and stuffed them in a backpack so that he could fit the Armordillo.

He had planned to do so right before entering the city anyway to avoid raising suspicion that he had a space ring, plus none of these materials he felt were valuable enough to try and rob him.

The only downside was that now he'd have to swim back across the river with a heavy load on his back.
