This Beast-Tamer is a Little Strange

Chapter 38: Chapter 38: Mission-Armordillo

On the home screen, Kye looked at his current progress proudly.

He hadn't had a chance to condense much spiritual power, it had still gone up by 50 to 200 SP thanks to the feedback from Bea.

Going to Bea's status menu he saw that her SP had increased tremendously to 405/1000 SP.

Although, he had initially considered Bea's inability to independently condense spiritual power without a host to be inconvenient, he realized that it was also an opportunity to drastically improve their strength in a short time.

Even the most talented beasts can only increase their spiritual power by 10 SP when not making a conscious effort. With an effort this number can double or even triple.

However, Bea was able to increase her spiritual power by a whopping 160 SP in just a day, worth at least a week's worth of the hard work of others.

Additionally, the system GP has increased from 1/100 to 19/100 GP.

'If only I could come across more groups that fearlessly give chase like Berserk Coyotes. I would be able to achieve the upgrade in no time and become a 2-star beast tamer in no time.'

Sigh

'There are so many stars outside of the city.'

Looking at the beautiful night sky, Kain closed his eyes and went to sleep.

Kain continued hunting for the next 4 days.

There was never as great a target as the coyote pack, but he, Bea, and the System had all progressed rapidly.

After the first night, he had realized that since Bea could not absorb spiritual power on her own, there was no need to return her to the star space.

Still choosing to sleep in the same spot each night, he instead kept Bea in the water below him to hunt any passing fish or other aquatic creatures.

Although nothing particularly powerful had been caught yet, every morning Kain would wake up to the beautiful site of an increase in the SP of him and Bea, as well as GP. This arrangement allowed Kain to obtain SP and GP for 24/7.

'It's like getting paid a salary while sleeping'

"54 seconds again…" Kain said while looking at the white-grade Sand Wolverine corpse in front of him.

After hunting that pack of coyotes the first day, Bea had made rapid progress in her speed of killing the target.

However, after crossing the minute mark on the third day, there has only been a little improvement until now.

"I guess we should get started on our mission now," Kain thought.

He had already swam across the river on the fourth day in the wilderness. Although extremely tiring, he didn't run into any danger with Bea surrounding him and no particularly strong creatures swimming by.

Kain pulled out the map given to him by the Blacksmith, I'm not too far from their location.

He left the wolverine corpse behind and moved forward. He didn't have enough room in the space ring for any more materials since he needed to also needed to put in 3 large Armordillo shells.

Also, the materials from the wolverine were less valuable than the other parts he's collected so far, so he didn't feel particularly hurt by their loss.

"Ahh…. How things have changed. The boy who used to bend over backwards to earn a bit of money is now just leaving money on the ground," he said sounding quite smug.

Finally arriving at the indicated location, Kain found it empty.

"Hmmm…."

They were living creatures so he did anticipate them moving.

However, he wasn't in a rush to get to this location when he first entered the wilderness because Armordillos are pretty timid, and once they find a location they feel safe in they may not leave for life.

Kain looked around and noticed what looked like fresh animal prints in the ground. Therefore, he decided to find a comfortable spot where he could continuously see this location, since they probably just left recently to find food.

His assumption was correct. Not even 15 minutes later a family of 5 arrived.

One, the largest, was probably a male and was as tall as Kain's waist. The three slightly smaller ones were probably females. Following at the end was an obvious infant, so small he could easily carry it in his arms.

Kain continued to watch. Ideally, when he got the chance, he could stab the male with the spear before it curled up and became defensive.

All of the adult Armordilllos went behind a large rock, leaving the baby behind.

Soon a variety of noises, that Kain really didn't want to think about the reason for, began to be heard from behind the rock.

Kain's hands began to itch with renewed determination to stab into the male Armordillo.

He was completely enraged with his sensibilities as a modern man from 21st-century Earth by the depraved activities of the foursome.

'Yes, my sense of decency is what makes me want to punish that despicable Armordillo…no other reason'

Unable to stand anymore the passionate noises that kept drifting to him, Kain ran behind the rock and stabbed forward.
