Chapter 317: Just Don’t Take Advantage of the Situation
(Third Update)
After Yang Qingyin explained repeatedly, and made clear that she was a student of Yan University, the police did not give her and Luo Ziling a hard time, but instead let them over to explain the situation.
Luo Ziling also recounted the incident that had just occurred, saying that he only fought back and injured two assailants on the ground after being stabbed.
“Please come with us to the police station,” the two officers, having seen the beautiful Yang Qingyin without her glasses and the handsome Luo Ziling, and noting both of their dignified manner, were fairly polite.
The two men Luo Ziling had injured were handcuffed directly and lifted into the police car.
“Let’s go to the police station,” Yang Qingyin whispered to Luo Ziling, then took his hand proactively.
Luo Ziling nodded obediently, and got into the police car with Yang Qingyin.
An officer sat next to them, watching them with a cold eye.
The police car turned on its siren and roared away.
On the way to the police station, Yang Qingyin explained the situation once again, and reminded the officers, “There’s surveillance nearby, you can check the footage.”
“We will clarify all circumstances,” the chief inspector sitting in the front passenger seat replied coldly.
Seeing how beautiful Yang Qingyin was, the few officers did not speak rudely to her.
“What about Xiaoli?” Luo Ziling remembered something and quietly asked Yang Qingyin.
“I didn’t ask her to follow, but she definitely knows what happened,” Yang Qingyin replied quietly, “She will handle everything.”
“Oh!” Luo Ziling murmured softly and did not say anything further.
He had not thought about Ye Xiaoli at that moment, but on the way to the police station, he sensed something was wrong.
Yang Qingyin’s close protection officer should have been following them the entire time. How could she not show up during the long fight against the two attackers? Having heard Yang Qingyin’s explanation, Luo Ziling understood that it was likely because Yang Qingyin did not like having a third wheel trailing them, which was why she did not let Ye Xiaoli follow. Presumably, Ye Xiaoli hadn’t expected such an incident to occur, and knowing his strong self-defense skills, she obediently stayed away; otherwise, it wouldn’t have turned out this way.
Soon, Luo Ziling saw Ye Xiaoli.
When the car pulled into the precinct’s yard and stopped, he spotted the frosty Ye Xiaoli standing in the courtyard.
After Luo Ziling and Yang Qingyin got out of the car, Ye Xiaoli walked up to them with a cold face and silently showed a credential to the utterly astonished officers. After scrutinizing Ye Xiaoli’s credential, they immediately stood at attention and saluted her.
“I’m taking them away, and I will take any responsibility,” Ye Xiaoli stated to the police in an uncompromising tone, “Note down my cell number, call me if you need anything.”
Having said that, she recited a string of numbers and, without waiting to see if the officers wrote them down, walked over to Yang Qingyin and said softly, “Miss, let’s go.”
“Junior brother, shall we go to the hospital first?” Yang Qingyin didn’t agree with Ye Xiaoli but instead asked Luo Ziling quietly, “Your injury needs to be taken care of.”
“No need for the hospital, I can handle the wound myself,” Luo Ziling said with a smile, shaking his head, “Find a place for me, and with a little help from you both, I can manage it.”
“Alright,” Yang Qingyin was not stubborn, took Luo Ziling’s hand, and walked directly towards a car parked nearby.
Ye Xiaoli followed coolly behind them. After Luo Ziling and Yang Qingyin got into the back seat, she got into the driver’s seat, started the car, and drove off without delay. The officers who had brought them back to the precinct watched the three leave with surprise on their faces, making no move to stop them.
“Li, who is this beautiful woman and what’s her deal?” a young police officer asked the eldest amongst them, “to have someone with such status come to request a release.”
“She’s not someone we can afford to mess with; there’s a lot more to this incident than meets the eye,” Li replied slowly, exhaling. He didn’t say anything more.
Ye Xiaoli’s credential was a small red booklet, its significance terrifying and not to be trifled with by them.
Otherwise, they wouldn’t dare release a criminal suspect without proper authorization.
After Ye Xiaoli left with Luo Ziling and Yang Qingyin, they immediately reported the circumstances.
They also took note of the mobile number Ye Xiaoli provided.
When Ye Xiaoli drove away from the police station with Luo Ziling and Yang Qingyin, she drove steadily. While driving, she said guiltily, “Miss, I failed in my duties today.”
Though she had only been absent from their side today because Yang Qingyin requested it, she still felt deeply guilty about the incident, since Yang Qingyin had nearly lost her life. Ye Xiaoli knew very well that if anything had happened to Yang Qingyin, the responsibility would weigh heavily on her. She would rather lose her own life than see Yang Qingyin in danger. She made a silent vow to herself never to make such a mistake again and to always protect Yang Qingyin, even if it meant staying close during her dates with Luo Ziling.
Yang Qingyin didn’t respond to Ye Xiaoli’s words; her mind was entirely on Luo Ziling. Looking at his shoulder and back stained with blood, she couldn’t help feeling heartbroken. However, she didn’t cry this time, just held onto Luo Ziling’s arm tightly.
After driving for a while, Ye Xiaoli slowed the car and asked Yang Qingyin, “Miss, where shall we go?”
Initially, she thought they would surely head to the hospital, but since Luo Ziling was unwilling and Yang Qingyin didn’t insist, she didn’t drive towards the hospital. Uncertain of their destination, she had no choice but to ask Yang Qingyin.
After some thought, Yang Qingyin instructed Ye Xiaoli, “Let’s go to your place.”
“Okay!” Ye Xiaoli immediately agreed and picked up speed once again.
Seeing the puzzled look on Luo Ziling’s face, Yang Qingyin quickly explained, “She has a private room inside our university, and she’s the only one who lives there.”
“Alright,” Luo Ziling, though still puzzled, did not ask any further questions.
The car drove straight into the university and stopped in a dark area, where Luo Ziling and Yang Qingyin got out.
Once out of the car, Yang Qingyin came over to support Luo Ziling.
“It’s okay, the bone isn’t injured; I’ll recover quickly,” Luo Ziling reassured Yang Qingyin with a smile. “Don’t make it sound like I’m seriously hurt.”
“Aren’t you seriously hurt?” Yang Qingyin retorted, and continued, “I was scared to death earlier. Who would have thought that just going out for dinner could lead to such an event?”
Yang Qingyin didn’t insist on going to the hospital because she knew Luo Ziling was quite skilled in medicine. She also trusted that he understood the gravity of the situation and wouldn’t joke around with his health.
“It’s fine,” Luo Ziling chuckled, “Without today’s incident, you wouldn’t have seen my impressive moves, right? Hehe, were you stunned by the way I fought? Are you admiring me now? Did your eyes sparkle with stars?”
Yang Qingyin couldn’t believe Luo Ziling was still joking at a time like this; she felt like crying yet wanted to laugh.
“Alright, stop babbling. Let’s hurry and get going; I’ll treat your wounds.”
“Just don’t take advantage of me, that’s all!”
“You are so annoying!” Yang Qingyin felt like hitting Luo Ziling again!
