Chapter 280: Otherwise, I Will Feel Guilty for the Rest of My Life
Luo Ziling had originally promised to go to the Ouyang family villa for dinner last night and discuss the dispute between the Ling and Yang families, hoping to get some advice from Ouyang Lingyun.

But since he had to meet Ling Ruonan last evening, and he was also having dinner at Ling Ruonan’s tonight, followed by a date with Yang Qingyin, he had no choice but to apologize to Ouyang Feifei once again.

Ouyang Feifei was quite angry at Luo Ziling’s repeated cancellations, but upon hearing that it was all because of his meetings with Ling Ruonan, she made no further remark.

Luo Ziling promised her that he would definitely visit Sir Ouyang tomorrow night.

“I hope you won’t cancel again,” that was the only reply Ouyang Feifei sent back to Luo Ziling.

“I hope nothing important comes up tomorrow,” Luo Ziling wished to himself. He also reminded himself, “Refuse everything else, except matters concerning mom and Yang Qingyin.”

When Luo Ziling got back to school, it was only seven-thirty. He didn’t know if it was a coincidence, or Yang Qingyin knew he would be back around this time. Just as he had barely walked back to his dorm, Yang Qingyin sent him a message.

“Junior, have you come back? I’d like to take a walk by the lakeside of Lake Wuming.”

“Just got back, I’ll hurry over and wait for you at that big willow tree.” He added two kissing emojis to the message.

“Hmm, see you in a bit!” Yang Qingyin immediately replied with a message, adding two blushing emojis.

Luo Ziling didn’t delay further, he changed his clothes, put on his jacket, and ran out of the dormitory at top speed towards Lake Wuming.

Arriving under the willow tree where they had dated before, and seeing that there were few people around, Luo Ziling agilely scrambled up, sitting on a branch to wait for Yang Qingyin’s arrival.

About ten minutes later, Luo Ziling saw two people coming towards the willow tree, one after the other.

Even in the darkness, he could spot that the one in front was Yang Qingyin, followed by Ye Xiaoli from a distance.

“Senior,” Luo Ziling softly called out when he saw Yang Qingyin approaching.

“Junior, are you there?” Yang Qingyin’s voice contained an unmistakable joy that she could not hide.

By the time Yang Qingyin reached the tree, Luo Ziling had already dangled upside down to peer down at her.

“Eh, why did you bring a flute along?” Luo Ziling was quite surprised to see a flute in Yang Qingyin’s hand.

Yang Qingyin cocked her head to look at the upside-down Luo Ziling and laughed, “I play the flute by the lake; it’s an exercise I often do.”

“Alright then,” Luo Ziling couldn’t help but wryly smile before saying, “Get ready, I’m going to lift you up here.”

Yang Qingyin immediately extended her hand towards Luo Ziling.

As Luo Ziling grabbed Yang Qingyin’s hand, he playfully kissed her on the face. Amid her shy reproach, he then hoisted her up, using the strength of his waist to pull them both up the tree.

“It’s like riding clouds and mist,” Yang Qingyin joked, sitting shoulder-to-shoulder with Luo Ziling up in the tree, “as if we’re about to fly.”

“If only I were Sun Wukong, then I could carry you and fly everywhere, to play all over,” Luo Ziling replied with a playful quip.

“If you’re Sun Wukong, then what am I?” Yang Qingyin teased with a playful smile, her eyes twinkling with mirth in the darkness.

Today, Luo Ziling had actually brought a cushion, and sitting on the tree branch with it, he didn’t feel tired at all.

“As long as you’re not the White Bone Demon.”

“Annoying,” Yang Qingyin reached out and pinched Luo Ziling, “Am I that detestable?”

“Then a Fox Demon!”

“I’m going to fight you,” Yang Qingyin, a bit infuriated with embarrassment, pounced on Luo Ziling, “You’re making me so angry.”

“Who can blame you for being so beautiful, bewitching so many men,” Luo Ziling hugged Yang Qingyin in his arms and laughed, “Senior sister, sit tight, be careful not to fall off, okay!”

“If you keep this up, I won’t pay you any mind,” Yang Qingyin opened her mouth to bite Luo Ziling, “and you’re still making fun of me.”

Luo Ziling took the opportunity to peck on Yang Qingyin’s lips, suppressing his laughter among her tender reproaches, “Alright, alright, I was just teasing you. I’m scared you’d be unhappy, I said a couple of playful remarks, you didn’t take them seriously, did you?”

Yang Qingyin was no longer struggling but quietly leaned into Luo Ziling’s embrace and asked softly, “Have you seen ‘A Chinese Odyssey’?”

“What? ‘A Chinese Odyssey’?”

“Yeah, it’s a pretty famous movie, with Stephen Chow in it,” Yang Qingyin looked at Luo Ziling strangely, “The story of Monkey King and Zixia Fairy. Haven’t seen it?”

“I really haven’t,” Luo Ziling smiled somewhat embarrassed, “Although there was satellite TV in the small mountain village in the Northwest, I usually only watched the news, and the only movies I watched were war films.”

“Is that so,” Yang Qingyin seemed a bit disappointed, “then let’s not talk about that. By the way, can you play a tune?”

As she spoke, Yang Qingyin took the flute Luo Ziling had hung on a tree branch.

“No problem,” Luo Ziling took the flute and played the melody “Autumn Meditation at Mountain Residence.”

The soothing music mesmerized Yang Qingyin.

“That was beautiful,” after Luo Ziling had finished playing, Yang Qingyin sincerely complimented, took the flute, and played a melody herself.

Luo Ziling listened, slightly surprised, “You’ve improved quickly. If we were only listening to the music, we wouldn’t be able to tell who played which melody.”

“It’s an honor to receive your praise,” Yang Qingyin smiled sweetly, then whispered softly, “I hereby declare the obligatory program for the undercover agents’ meeting over.”

Yang Qingyin’s playfully sly remark left Luo Ziling somewhat not knowing whether to laugh or cry.

He felt a tinge of sadness in his heart, but seeing Yang Qingyin looking relaxed in the bright light, he didn’t mind too much.

In the time that followed, Yang Qingyin leaned on Luo Ziling’s shoulder and softly shared everything she wanted to tell him, including the few people who had started tailing her recently.

“If I’m not wrong, the incident that happened at the school gate this morning targeting you must’ve been plotted by the Yang Family,” Yang Qingyin scoffed, “I can’t believe they would stoop so low, employing such tactics against you, trying to ruin you through thugs.”

“It’s fine; I’ll just take it as a test from your family,” Luo Ziling, in a good mood from today’s gains, didn’t mind, “Anyway, they’re no match for me in a fight.”

“Can you tell me about the elderly man you helped treat and the female officer who came to pick you up?” Yang Qingyin gently asked, then quickly explained, “I just want to know what kind of people are willing to help you and whether they’ll bring you more trouble. I don’t want anything to happen to you, otherwise, I’d feel guilty for the rest of my life.”

“Thank you for your concern,” the favor of a beauty weighed heavily; Yang Qingyin’s explanation immediately warmed Luo Ziling’s heart.
