Chapter 78
78 Roles
“Meow...”
Kate sighed when she sensed Kyle’s movement. She knew that he was being possessive about her, but now he didn’t even let his own father carried her?
Come on, she’s a cat now.
At this moment, Kate had inexplicably thought of herself as a cat from time to time during some time event. It was not like she wanted to accept the fact that she had turned into a cat, but it was like there was no other choice but to accept for her.
Kate herself will think that she was a human being rather than a cat.
She didn’t want to truly associate herself as an animal.
Hmph!
Kate still felt that she’s 100% human.
“Kyle?” Kyle’s Father was surprised when he saw his son’s reaction. He looked at the little cat in Kyle’s hand and felt somewhat disbelief and surprise.
.....
His cold son... actually had an attachment towards that little cat?
When he first brought that little cat to his son, he had the mentality of letting his son tried to get close to the little cat without much hope. After all, he knew that his son’s personality after losing his mother was a bit extreme.
He looked normal on the outside.
But Kyle’s Father knew that his son was definitely not like what others looked at him from outside.
“She’ll stay with me.” Kyle put the little cat on his shoulder carefully. “You’re not allowed to take her away.”
“I won’t take her away.” Kyle’s father was speechless.
He looked at the little cat on his son’s shoulder and thought to himself that it was good that his son had started to open his heart. It was just a little animal for now but maybe he could also start to grow warmer towards others too?
Though, Kyle’s Father was actually doubting it very much.
“Did you awaken an ability?” Kyle’s Father changed the conversation. He didn’t want to see his son kept on being defensive in front of him.
“Fire.” Kyle glanced at the soldiers behind his father. “And this is not the correct place for us to discuss anything further.”
“General Ryan...”
“Come to my office. No one follows me.”
The soldiers looked at Kyle, Dylan, and Dr. Dall before sighing. They were responsible for protecting General Ryan, Kyle’s Father, but they also had to follow his order.
It was indeed difficult.
Klep!
The door closed and they all took a seat in General Ryan’s office. Kyle was sitting right in front of his father and raised his hand. Flames and lightning interchanged swiftly, completely under his control.
General Ryan looked at his son’s fingers and nodded. “You’re controlling your ability very well. It seems that you’re doing your practice on your way here.”
“There are a lot of insects to be killed.” Kyle was calm.
General Ryan rolled his eyes then turned to look at Dylan. “Dylan, your parents are on your way here. They’ll be happy to see that you’re fine. Your older sister is also calling you to accompany her.”
Dylan frowned.
He did have an older sister, but because his withdrawn personality, he rarely interacted with the other party. Thankfully, his parents also knew that he was not suited for business and had long decided that his older sister was the successor.
His sister was already married and even had a child, so Dylan rarely met with the other party. That was to prevent him from disturbing his sister’s married life.
He had no interest meeting with her either.
“Ok.” Dylan nodded.
“For the time being, it’s best if you three stay in City B. The other people might want to target our three families as everyone in City B Is not informed about these rats. We didn’t manage to react as fast as what had been planned.” General Ryan was not satisfied when he thought of the result.
Kyle pursed his lips.
He was not surprised at all.
“We’re not interested to clean up your mess, Old Man.”
“I can take care of them.” General Ryan glared at his son. “You just need to make sure that you’re not putting yourself in danger.”
“That might not be possible.”
“You!”
“We’re registered as a group called ‘Black’ so we’re eligible to take mission. I have no interest to stay under your wing forever.” Kyle looked at his father calmly. However, his tone really didn’t look like he was negotiating with his father but rather a friend or an acquaintance.
“Black?” General Ryan frowned. “What kind of name is that?”
Dr. Dall nearly chocked when he heard what General Ryan said. Was it the point? He thought that the general will be angry, but thinking that there were a lot of people who allowed their children to be free and didn’t interfere with them at all when they reached adulthood... Dr. Dall wisely chose not to say anything.
On the other hand, Kate nodded vehemently.
See!
Even General Ryan also thought that the name was so bad!
Kate even more convinced that if it was possible, she would never let Kyle be the one in charge of naming something. His naming sense was so bad that she was afraid that if he had more pets in the future, he would call a dog with the name ‘dog.’
Considering that it was Kyle... Kate felt it was highly plausible.
“It’s a good name.” Kyle arched his eyebrows.
General Ryan sighed. “Alright, you can do as you wishes, but I wouldn’t agree if your team only consist of you three. There are a total of 10 abilities and if possible, it will be better for you to have a healer and also scout.”
After the awakening had already confirmed that there were a total of 10 different types, they were quickly classified based on their role.
Attackers could be close range and long range, which technically almost all elements, but their majority was strengthening, fire, and lightning.
Defenders were the water, earth, and metals, though they all could also attack.
Scouts were usually wind.
Healers were the healing element and also wood element.
Auxiliary were the space element.
