Chapter 50
50 Robbers
Or at least, that was how the night supposed to pass.
When it was time for Dylan to take care of the night watch, he seemed to sense someone coming. And soon, there was sound of beating coming out.
Kate woke up dazedly.
On the other hand, Kyle had already walked out of the car while Jake jumped out of the tent while carrying a gun in his hand.
“Who’s that?” Jake asked with frown.
“Intruder.” Dylan calmly kicked them towards their fireplace’s location. However, his kick was not enough to make them fell on the fire.
“There are people out here?” Jake was astonished.
He thought that they were all already so brave to get out of here and try their luck. But it seemed that there were also other people who thought the same as them and wanted to try their luck.
The first man roared and then fire appeared on him.
.....
Kyle swiftly stepped forward and punched him towards the ground. There was a faint smoke coming from his palm.
“Rank 1 and you dare to get out?” Kyle asked with a sneer.
Jake clicked his tongue. “Do you also want to try?”
Several metals moved and formed metal spears, aiming towards the other three people who were sprawled on the ground. Seeing that the spears were aiming close to them, they didn’t dare to move.
Just now, Dylan had already immobilized them with water and now the other two also attacked easily.
Just what are their ranks?
“So, where did you come from?”
“We’re from the village below...” One of them yelled quickly, answering as fast as possible in fear that they would be killed if they didn’t answer.
“What are you doing up here in the middle of the night?” Kyle asked. He knew that there was indeed a village below this mountain on the opposite side of where the road they used to come located.
However, that village would have long been destroyed by the beasts.
Unless there were a lot of people who awakened and managed to survive, it was very unlikely for them to survive from such attacks.
“I... We...”
“You want to rob, right? Is it so hard to admit it?” Jake rolled his eyes and controlled the metals to grow closer. “Hand over your crystal cores.”
Their faces changed. “We don’t have...”
“Don’t lie. Pick either leaving your crystal cores behind or your lives?” Kyle looked at these people calmly.
They looked at each other and put down several crystal cores on the ground with unwilling expression. Even though they knew that they were not these three people’s match, they didn’t want to let go of their harvest so easily.
Though, these people simply didn’t care about that.
“You can go now.”
Thud!
Drap! Drap! Drap!
As if being chased by a horde of beasts, these people ran away quickly. They didn’t have any intention to stay even for a second longer in fear that they would change their decision so suddenly.
“Tsk, tsk, they’re indeed very poor. No wonder they become robbers.” Jake took their crystal cores and took some of grey color before handing the rest to Kyle and Dylan. It was the color that he needed anyway.
“Not the reason.” Dylan frowned.
“I know that it’s not a reason to become robber. Anyway, why are you not killing them? With our abilities, it’ll be easy to do it without leaving any trace at all.” Jake didn’t like those people who came to disturb him.
And with their newfound ability, it was not impossible for them to complete erase the existences of those three people.
Kyle shook his head. “Humanity authority is still there. Even though a small portion had successfully awakened their abilities, they’re still bound by law.”
