The Villain's Little Cat

Chapter 49

49 Resting

In the end, Kate only drank a bit of porridge before returning to her milk. She didn’t really have that much interest in eating porridge and just wanted to try out to find out whether her stomach could withstand it or not.

And it seemed that she was still fine.

For the time being.

“Are you going to set up a tent?” Jake asked when he saw the equipment for tents were brought out by Kate.

“It’s just a small tent for one person. I’ll stay in the car while you and Dylan take turns to sleep in the tent. One person will have to guard. When it’s around three in the morning, wake me up for the last guard.”

“Got it.”

It was not impossible to sleep in the car, but sleeping while sitting was definitely not as comfortable as sleeping while laying down. Not to mention, the car was not that big. If the three of them wanted to lie down... it was definitely not comfortable.

Jake and Dylan do a rock paper scissor game to determine who will take the first night watch.

“Meow?”

.....

Kate looked at Kyle with dumbfounded expression. It was usually fine when they were sleeping in the same room because she will have her own small house to stay.

But here?

There was none.

Kyle had lowered the shotgun seat so that he could sleep. He patted the seat beside his head. “Sleep here, Little Kitty.”

“Meow...”

Kate was feeling conflicted.

The main reason was because she didn’t want to sleep with a man even though her form right now was nothing more than a little cat, alright. This car was simply too narrow for her to have a lot of choices.

Kyle didn’t pay attention to Kate anymore and closed his eyes. His hand was holding the crystal cores in red and purple color.

It seemed that he was tired.

“Meow.”

Kate complained inside her mind and then walked around. The seat was quite spacious and it was not like she had to sleep directly beside Kyle’s head.

After a while, Kate simply took out a pillow and put it below her. She circled the pillow to make it more comfortable before curling up her body and sleep directly. Even if she didn’t do much, she still felt tired most of the time.

It was a good time to sleep.

While Kate was sleeping soundly, Kyle opened his eyes once more. He saw that the cat was already sleeping soundly and took out his phone. He texted Jake, who had lost the rock paper scissor game and now had to guard first.

“Take notes of the animals to compare their sizes. They might have already evolved faster than us.”

“Got it.”

Jake glanced at the car and shook his head.

The animals were also evolving.

Faster than them.

It was perplexing considering that they also didn’t know how in the world they managed to grow so fast. Was it because from the very moment the rain appeared, everyone had some kind of crystal core within their body?

And they were all able to absorb it as long as the crystal was touching their skin even though it took time.

Including human?

Kyle had thought about it, but he didn’t try to verify this thought. He didn’t want to kill anyone and didn’t want to disturb the dead bodies of strangers. It would be better to just wait for the officials’ verification.

The night soon passed quietly.
