Chapter 52 Defeat
The audience opened their mouths in surprise… they never saw something like that before, and neither did Aion. Even with his system, he didn't have access to such skills. It seemed like another secret technique… that kind of thing was pretty high level, and even if he could learn those techniques, he would need to level ups his classes for a while.
Regardless, the guild master raised his guard since he hadn't seen that technique either. Aion thought that it was a secret of the royal family that not even the books had mentioned before, but it didn't look like that was the case… it was Vangel's own developed technique. With that active and Inner Force, he charged at the guild master.
When the enhanced sword approached, the guild master blocked it with a cross guard using both swords. His strength was still enough to stop the attack, but his sword swords began to be pierced by it. It won't take long until they are destroyed…
This time, the guild master was the one who stepped backward, and Vangel gave chase, neither of them had the room to let the fight drag out for long, but their positions still were reversed now. When the enhanced sword approached, the guild master dodged to the side and swung his weapons toward Vangel's chest. In the end, he left his armor to take the damage. The guild master's attack pierced the armor a bit and even cut some of the prince's flesh, but he stopped since Vangel's sword also had approached his neck, and if he moves anymore, the guild master's head will roll.
"It is my loss…" The guild master said after dropping his sword.
That was disappointing… Aion was expecting a more intense fight, but in the end, at least he learned something new from his next opponent, and no one had to die for that. Until now, no one had died in the tournament, and that surprised Aion… what was even more surprising was that the audience wasn't asking for more blood to be shed.
Aion paid attention to Vangel while he was entering the waiting room, and he didn't look that tired, considering that he had used two techniques of that level for over thirty seconds. He assumed that he only had basic training, but perhaps he had underestimated him… his resilience wasn't at the level of someone who did things in a half-assed way. His father also wasn't someone who would do things half-heartedly.
"Hmm… I don't have anything to stop that technique… Regardless, isn't that practice magic?" Aion thought. "It is in the rules that one can't use magic, and that is why there are no mages here…"
Aion couldn't use magic; his best options were his weapons of the classes. Those become more durable the more he uses them… while they can destroy, it can take a while, and after a couple of hours, they are back to normal. He confirmed that one of the times he was training the bears' dungeon… Regardless, he couldn't use that.

Another thing that Aion learned was that aside from his basic parameters, he could only use all of the other bonuses when he had those weapons equipped. All in all, the classes strengthened him, while the bonuses of refinement, of skills, and coins only enhanced his weapons. That was why he didn't feel the need to improve them since he wasn't going to use them.
"I have to use my brain to win this…" Aion thought while he was heading home. "If I use the Destroyer, I will surprise him, but I don't think it will be enough to break his weapon and force him to give up."
Destroyer was the skill that Aion obtained when he reached level fifty in the Berserker class. It could be used with one-hand and two-handed weapons. It was basically a powerful sequence of two vertical hits coming from left, right, and the last one from above. Unless the target is fast, the skill is bound to split their head in two… it consumed 20 points of stamina, so it wasn't something that he could spam.
In the end, got home without having a clear plan in mind. The place was quite dark and completely silent… Aion didn't know how he was going to do that, but he couldn't let his mother stay there alone for any longer.
"See, Mom?" Aion said. "I am completely fine. Tomorrow I will kick some royal ass, and then the prize will be within my reach. Oops, mom is also royalty, right? I guess that was inappropriate."
"I am no longer royalty… still, to think that the prince would join the tournament," Artemisia said while furrowing her eyebrows. "If reached this far, he must be strong… Still, don't go all out against him, Aion. Nothing good will come out of this."
"Well, someone needs to kick his ass to put him in his place," Aion said. "Today, he almost lost, but almost isn't enough. I will just break a few of his bones and make him cry on the lap of the queen."
"... How do the people react when you enter the arena?" Artemisia asked.
"They just stay silent, nothing more," Aion replied.
Although he said that, Aion was pretty sure they would cheer like hell once he lost. Regardless, Aion couldn't care less about that, he was determined to win that whole shit, and he was going to make the day of assholes by giving them that chance.
