Chapter 51 Revenge
It had been four years since that happened, but Aion could feel the stare of the opponent. She didn't forget that shame of being defeated by a six year old boy, she was out for Aion's blood, and he could only imagine that she wanted to do something out of his world with him. Definitely not something he wanted to happen again…
"Her blood lust is weak… I guess she doesn't want to kill me," Aion thought. "It would be weird to hold such a grudge against a kid for four years."
Eventually, both of them were called to the arena. Aion could tell that ending things fast will be difficult since the girl wasn't going to underestimate him. In any case, the girl had turned into a woman, and since she was the type who focused on speed, she was only wearing chainmail and some protective gear on some parts of her body.
When the referee declared the start of the fight, the girl began to swing her spears around. She was quite fast, and her control was great, so Aion couldn't approach recklessly. In the end, the girl approached while one of the spears was spinning, and she began to thrust her spear at Aion's head.
"Her speed isn't great, but her accuracy is superb…" Aion thought while he was moving his head and dodging the attacks.
When Aion was about to get the timing right of those thrusts, the girl turned around, and then the spinning spear almost cut Aion's head in two. He stepped backward to escape the range and then prepared to dash, but then he found the second spear moving to his head.
"She developed a really annoying fighting style…" Aion thought.
The girl probably had a ton of strength on her fingers since she didn't stop to rest, and her combo didn't end after a couple of hits like before. Aion clicked his tongue in annoyance and then took a deep sigh.
Instead of dodging, Aion blocked the thrusts when they approached his head. The girl found her hit being slowed down with each strike, and when Aion stepped forward to attack, she used her spinning spear to stop him. However, that only worked for a short moment since Aion used both of his axes and sent the spear to the distance after hitting them.
The girl recovered from the impact really fast and grabbed the other spear with two hands, almost as if she could have predicted that such a thing would happen… still, she slowly stepped away to recover her weapon.
Aion charged as fast as he could while in the middle of a step, and then she aimed for his chest with a thrust. However, her stance was weak, and Aion's axes repelled and broke the spear instantly. In the next moment, Aion hit her stomach with the top of the axes, making her faint.
The referee determined that Aion was the winner, and now that he had relaxed, he only heard the sound of the entire place in silence… regardless, he was satisfied that he won a fight relying on his skills instead of breaking through everything with brute strength alone.
The waiting room was getting more and more empty and quiet. The only problem was that the audience started to make noise as soon as Aion left.
"The next round is already him in action…" Aion thought and then saw the prince and another man who had a similar aura to Jagger's. "I guess he is a guild master as well."
If that guy wins another round with a single hit, Aion will start to feel worried… an opponent like that wasn't supposed to be that easy to be defeated, but if it happens… Aion will have a hard time coming up with a decent battle plan. He will have to go full retard and focus on attacking with all his might.
In any case, the other guild master headed to the center of the arena. He was a guy who had the same physique as Lexus, he was neither too big nor slim, and he also had short black hair and was wearing a red breast place. The expression on his face was pretty severe… Aion thought that guild masters were supposed to be more laid back like their members… Regardless, he chooses two short swords to fight.
In the other matches, Valgen looked pretty relaxed, but things were different now. He looked pretty serious and nervous… either way, Aion felt that he would have a bit of a hard time against any of them.
When the referee gave the sign for the start of the battle. Both of the fighters charged, and their weapons met at the midway point of their positions. As expected of a guild master, he also could match his speed with someone that could use Inner Force…
Their strength seemed to be on the same level, so they didn't move that much. Until Vangel decided to move backward and gain some room to attack with all his might again. However, that had been a bad move, and the guild master showed the difference in experience that they had.
The guild master charged as Vangel retreated. He swung both swords at his neck like a scissor, and the audience gasped when they saw that. Still, Vangel blocked the attack with his sword as he was pushed back down.
While clenching his teeth, Vangel found himself in a difficult position. One could only go so far with some basic training and talent… in any case, Vangel noticed that the guild master's upper body was too focused on pressuring him with the swords, so he stepped backward and kicked his opponent's stomach when he approached.
"Everyone is doing that now…" Aion thought while frowning.
Despite the pain and surprise, the guild master didn't suffer much damage, thanks to his armor. In fact, he pushed onward even more and made the prince flinch until Vangel apparently got mad and decided to headbutt him. The plan worked, and the guild master got dizzy, but Vangel had to stop for a moment due to the pain.
In the end, Vangel realized that he couldn't win if things stayed like that. He was weaker than the opponent by in many aspects… So, he decided to use a surprising technique… he used his mana to envelop his sword in a red light that seemed like flames…
