Chapter 28
C28 – Poison Dragon Pill
Miao Hujin, the Pill King, had never imagined that someone could refine pills within the void. Today was truly an enlightening experience.
“How does it look?” Yun Haoyan inquired, his tone nonchalant.
Miao Hujin stared at Yun Haoyan, his disbelief evident as the shock remained etched on his face. He was certain that this young man was not an envoy of his disciple. No matter the extent of his disciple’s influence, commanding this youth was out of the question.
While Miao Hujin was unsure if Yun Haoyan had truly attained the status of a God Level Alchemist, one thing was crystal clear to him: the young man’s pill refining prowess was immeasurable. His alchemical skills were at least on par with a Pill Emperor, if not a Pill Saint.
What had become of the world? Was it the world that had gone mad, or was it he? How could someone so young possess such formidable pill refining skills?
“Did you really come here just to wait for me?” Miao Hujin still struggled to accept the reality.
Yun Haoyan nodded, then added, “You should believe me now. To me, you hold no value. I possess all the knowledge you have, and more. I have no reason to admire your Pill King realm abilities, especially now that your dantian is crippled and you’re suffering from poison.”
“Poisoned? Impossible! I’m a Pill King; I have a keen sensitivity to poisons. How could I possibly be poisoned?” Miao Hujin, the Pill King, vehemently denied the possibility as he spoke out loud.
He was an Alchemist of the Pill King realm; the idea of him being poisoned was inconceivable.
“What if the poison was the undetectable Poison Dragon Pill?” Yun Haoyan’s voice was soft, yet it struck Miao Hujin like a bolt of lightning.
The Poison Dragon Pill, a slow-acting, colorless, and odorless poison, was undetectable until it was too late, and by then, no remedy could reverse its effects.
“Impossible! How could I be afflicted by a Poison Dragon Pill? And how could you possibly discern that I’ve been poisoned by it?” Miao Hujin’s eyes widened as he demanded answers from the young man before him.
Yun Haoyan approached Miao Hujin and focused his spiritual energy, gently pressing it against Miao Hujin’s chest.
Pill King Miao Hujin initially wanted to evade, but he quickly realized that no matter how he tried, escape was impossible.
As he was gripped by alarm, a soothing spiritual energy flowed from Yun’s palm.
Pill King Miao Hujin coughed up a mouthful of black blood, his face drastically changing with the act.
The black blood scorched the ground like molten lava, turning the green stones jet black and releasing a foul stench.
“This is the pill poison within you. I’ve drawn it out with my internal energy so you could feel its presence,” Yun Haoyan said, his face etched with anger as he regarded the tainted ground.
“I’ve truly been poisoned.” Witnessing the black blood, Pill King Miao Hujin had to accept the harsh truth—he was indeed poisoned.
Moreover, judging by the potency of the poison, it matched that of a seventh-grade pill.
For someone of his Pill King stature to be poisoned without a trace or symptom, only a poison of such caliber could be responsible.
“Now, do you believe that I came specifically to find you, and that I bear you no malice?” Yun Haoyan asked, his gaze softening as he looked at Pill King Miao Hujin.
Overwhelmed with emotion, Miao Hujin was now convinced of the young man’s good intentions.
The recent display of power had revealed Yun’s formidable strength, a level beyond Miao Hujin’s own mastery of alchemy.
“Master Yun, I implore you, take me on as your disciple!”
Miao Hujin, the Pill King whose name reverberated across the continent, knelt on one knee, earnestly pleading with Yun Haoyan.
