The Peak of Alchemy & Martial

Chapter 16

C16 – Poison in My Palm

“You’re with the Yuns?” The man in black was taken aback; he hadn’t even launched his attack on the Yun family before they had come to him.

The cat was out of the bag now, and the Yuns were surely on guard. If he botched this, the Saint Lord would not let him off lightly.

“Why are you so hell-bent on annihilating the Yun family?” Yun Haoyan demanded.

“There’s no need for you to know. Every last one of the Yuns deserves to die.” With those words, the man in black’s Spiritual Energy soared, and he struck out at Yun Haoyan with a palm.

The Spiritual Energy in his palm trembled intensely, like boiling water, sending out waves of dark Qi.

“It looks like I’ll have to take you down before you’ll spill the truth.”

Yun Haoyan swung his fists, launching a powerful punch at the man in black.

A sharp crack sounded as the man in black’s palm was rendered useless.

“Martial Grandmaster Realm!”

The man in black stared at the young man before him, his mind a whirlwind of shock.

The Yuns had such a formidable Martial Cultivator, and there had been no intelligence on him.

He hadn’t been able to detect the young man’s strength at all. Initially, he had assumed the young man was using a technique to hide his aura, but he had been wrong.

The young man before him hadn’t employed any such technique; he was simply a Martial Grandmaster, beyond the man’s ability to perceive.

A Martial Grandmaster of such youth?

“Just who are you?” He now doubted that this young man was truly a Yun. It seemed impossible for a minor clan like the Yuns to produce a Martial Grandmaster.

“I am Yun Haoyan, the Young Master of the Yun family,” Yun Haoyan said coldly, fixing the man in black with a steely gaze. “You won’t escape from me. It’s in your best interest to cooperate.”

“Furthermore, the poison on your palm? It won’t affect me in the slightest, so don’t bother trying to buy time.”

In their recent clash, the man in black had used a palm technique laced with a potent poison. Yun Haoyan, having lived for over ten thousand years, had never encountered such a toxin before.

Even the most advanced martial cultivators at the Grand Martial Master Realm couldn’t leap an entire level to poison a Martial Grandmaster. Yet, this man in black had managed the impossible. Had it not been for Yun Haoyan’s Pill God Body, he would surely be contemplating how to rid himself of the venom by now.

The poison was domineering, the likes of which were unprecedented.

“You’re unharmed!” The man in black, his scheme unraveled by Yun Haoyan, let a flicker of panic cross his eyes.

He had never panicked before, not even upon realizing that he was dealing with a Martial Grandmaster. After all, he had once succeeded in poisoning one to death.

Yun Haoyan wasted no more words. He charged, delivering a swift kick to the man’s calf, subduing him before he would proceed with a thorough interrogation.

The man in black, seeing the kick hurtling towards him, desperately tried to evade. But the gulf between his skills and Yun Haoyan’s was too vast; he stood no chance of dodging.

With a pained howl, the man collapsed, his leg bone shattered.

Yun Haoyan lifted his right foot and brought it down hard on the man’s arms and legs. In an instant, his limbs were all broken.

“Now, are you ready to talk?” Yun Haoyan asked, his face devoid of emotion, his voice deep and steady.

The man in black coughed violently, his gaze fixed on Yun Haoyan as it slowly faded to emptiness.

“The Saint Lord will surely seek vengeance for me. I’ll be waiting for you below.”

Yun Haoyan pried open the man’s mouth to find a tooth already shattered.

In moments, the man in black lay lifeless; he was dead.
