Chapter 34: Have You Caught A Cold Part 1
Chapter 34: Have You Caught A Cold Part 1
Seeing that there was only one bed in the room, they looked at each other, but no one said anything. Obviously, they didn’t know what to do.
Ye Sui spoke first to break the awkwardness, “There is only one bed.”
“Hmm.” Chen Shu nodded.
Ye Sui was distressed. She naively thought that if she and Chen Shu came here, they could still sleep separately. But the reality hit her hard.
Did she really have to sleep in the same bed with Chen Shu tonight? What should she do?
Ye Sui suddenly thought of something. “Maybe there is another mattress and quilt in the cabinet.”
She walked quickly to the front of the cabinet and opened it, but her beautiful fantasy was ruthlessly broken. There was no quilt or mattress; thus, the possibility of two people sleeping in separate beds was utterly smashed.
Chen Shu noticed Ye Sui’s smile a while ago was gone, and now she came back with a sad face.
Chen Shu said, “If it is really not feasible, let’s talk about it with the aunt.”
Ye Sui refused. “No, I can’t let my mother know.” The two were nominally husband and wife. If Yan Lan knew the truth, she would worry again.
She could only accept reality. Wasn’t it just a night’s sleep? And Chen Shu was good; she fully trusted his character.
Ye Sui glanced at Chen Shu. Maybe in his eyes, she was the one who would take advantage of him.
In addition, she also thought that Chen Shu had concerns toward her, that she would make advances in the middle of the night, combined with her previous deeds of taking advantage of his hand.
Ye Sui looked Chen Shu, somewhat embarrassed. “I move around a lot in sleep; do you mind sleeping with me?”
Chen Shu felt funny: “I have no problem, and you?”
“Of course. I don’t mind either,” Ye Sui said, in a hurry. The night was getting deeper and deeper. After showering, Ye Sui, wearing pajamas, did not dare to look at Chen Shu. She quickly got into the quilt and lay in it.
Chen Shu silently thought that just now, she was the one who said not to worry.
Chen Shu also opened the quilt and got in. He held out his hand and pressed the lamp switch. The light went out, and the surroundings were plunged into darkness.
Ye Sui was lying on her side. She curled up and faced the wall. Chen Shu lay on the bed with one hand behind his head and looked at the ceiling, his mood indiscernible.
In the same bed, two people had different thoughts running through their minds.
In the dark, their breathing was peaceful. Outside the window, the quiet moonlight was illuminating the floor and enlighten those subtle unknown thoughts.
Ye Sui suddenly said, “Chen Shu, are you asleep?”
“No.”
Ye Sui sighed, “I can’t sleep.” In this strange place, even if Ye Sui was familiar with Chen Shu—while lying beside him—she was not used to it.
Chen Shu did not speak. After a while, his voice sounded in the darkness. “Aren’t you tired after walking outside all day?”
When Chen Shu mentioned this, Ye Sui felt as if she was really quite exhausted, and when she thought about it, she felt sleepy. Ye Sui said softly, “Good night.”
Ye Sui’s breathing became slow and calm. Chen Shu knew that she was asleep.
Chen Shu was also not used to sleeping with people. He felt strange, but if this person was Ye Sui, he unexpectedly wasn’t as opposed to this notion.
Chen Shu’s sleeping posture was normal. But he couldn’t bear the presence of someone with unusual habits. After falling asleep, this person loved to roll.
Ye Sui turned over, subconsciously wanting to find a comfortable place to nest. She aimed at the object that she thought was safe and then stuck it on one end.
Ye Sui’s head was buried in Chen Shu’s neck, and her breathing was close to his ears. The faint scent of her body also burst out and overwhelmed his senses.
Chen Shu’s body was stiff. In the silent darkness, he clearly felt his heartbeat accelerating while thinking that the two of them had never been this close.
Because of this, Chen Shu’s current situation was dire. This kind of feeling was more intense, very difficult to ignore.
In a daze, Ye Sui did not know what she was doing. She leaned forward again, and her cheek pressed against Chen Shu’s. It felt soft and delicate.
Chen Shu’s heart beat faster again, and he breathed a long sigh. In this quiet autumn night, even his breath became hot.
After a few seconds, Chen Shu moved carefully to the side, just a little distance away from Ye Sui.
The next second, Ye Sui stuck up again. She seemed very satisfied with the comfortable place. Not only that, she even caressed Chen Shu’s neck.
Ye Sui’s action was unintentional, but Chen Shu’s mood was in a mess. His body became taut, and breathing suddenly became heavier. It took a long time to regain composure.
Afraid of waking up Ye Sui, Chen Shu kept this posture for a long time. Along with Ye Sui’s time to time “harassment”, Chen Shu felt that this night was particularly difficult.
Without knowing, Chen Shu’s breathing became soft and long. He also fell asleep not long after. Both of them were leaning towards each other as the quiet space was surrounded by ambiguity.
When Ye Sui woke up, she opened her eyes, glanced aside, and saw Chen Shu’s face. She was clearly reminded of the fact that the two of them had slept in the same bed last night.
Ye Sui did not know what had happened the previous night. Looking at Chen Shu, she felt that he perhaps had a good sleep.
Ye Sui’s eyes unconsciously fell on Chen Shu’s face.
