The Divine Wolf... or?

Chapter 171: Reunion!

With their backs facing the dungeon, the four of them quickly started running away as fast as they could. Before they could even run for more than a hundred meters, they could hear a massive explosion behind them. Though the explosion was loud enough to be heard from several kilometres away, none of them looked back for even a second.

They already knew that the purpose of this plan was for them to run away, not to kill the angel.

They had already seen the angel's tyrannical strength, they naturally knew that they wouldn't be able to kill it, at least not with something of this level. Unfortunately for them, it seemed like their plan had ultimately failed. The angel was a bit stronger than they thought, and it was barely delayed at all. Since that was the case, where could they run to?

How were they supposed to escape with just a couple of hundred meters as a head start? It was simply impossible.

The angel was livid, it had never felt like this before. Every single person he had killed had just either tried to run away whilst screaming or accepted their fate, no one tried to fight back, and no one had genuinely pissed him off so much before.

With a murderous look in his eyes, he quickly spotted them running a few hundred meters away from him, and he instantly hurled flew as fast as he could after them. In only took him a few seconds to close the gap to 50 meters, which meant that they were now in his range of attack.

If he was any further away, they would just easily dodge his attack without effort. With a condensed dark sword in his right hand, he started to move his arm. The atmosphere quickly turned gloomy and dark before he had even swung his sword, and the look in his eyes became a little sinister. Before he could actually fully swing his sword, another large mass of energy suddenly erupted.

This energy was the opposite of the angel's, and it seemed to instantly purify the gloomy and dark atmosphere.

The angel quickly turned its head to the side, only to see a thin crescent wave of light mana heading his way. Was this the large mass of mana he had just felt? That couldn't be right… But it most definitely was. Seeing such a small crescent blade of light heading his way, the angel instinctively swung his sword in response.

The dark mana he had sent out to meet the light mana was of equal size, but the angel would soon realise his errors.

Since he had just tried to match the size of the attack with his own mana, his attack instantly got ripped apart by the light mana. Usually he would overwhelm his opponents with his mana, but after using his regeneration skill for so many times, he had almost no mana left, and he tried to conserve it a little.

The light mana proceeded to cut the angels legs off as a result, and all that was left of it was its torso, falling quickly toward the ground.

Ark didn't take any chances, and his anger only fuelled his attacks even more as he relentlessly sent attack after attack towards the angel, who could only try his hardest to defend himself against the plethora of attacks.

"Thud!"

The sound of something hitting the floor soon echoed throughout the surroundings. As Ephine looked over, all she could see was a bloody arm, and nothing else except for blood. Ark himself quickly landed on the ground too, he had spent a bit too much mana after all. The twins were shocked beyond belief, but Thufrat and Ephine were only relieved, and not really surprised.

Ark looked to see if Ephine was okay, and when she responded with a brilliant smile, he instantly appeared right next to her and gave her a hug.

As he was rushing over, he had been worried out of his mind, and seeing her okay just made his heart feel at ease. This hug contained all of his worry and care, and he wasn't going to let go anytime soon. All he could think about was that he was happy that she was ok, and he cherished this moment with his life.

Thufrat smiled himself as he watched them, while the twins just felt both grateful and a little awkward.

Ephine herself was probably the most shocked of them all, she had never been hugged like this before, and it was a foreign feeling. Experiencing Ark's care for her like this first-hand was a first for her too, before they had just been close. Since she enjoyed his warm embrace, she hugged him back too, expressing her thanks for his timely assistance.

Today's dungeon diving had turned out to be quite the experience. What was supposed to be some casual level-ups had turned into such a desperate battle so quickly that it just felt surreal.

Though Ark wanted to keep hugging her like this for eternity, he soon let go, as he knew that they were running out of time. Their time in these forms were running out, and he wanted to get Atar before it was too late and they ended up revealing their true forms.

He was going to make sure to get the right amount of compensation for this though, as he had ended up with way more than he had bargained for.

He gave the twins an approving look as they had helped his friends out this time. Whether it was for his friend's sakes or not didn't matter too much, as they had still helped out, and without them, who knew if Ephine and Thufrat would still be standing in front of him. Before he could even say anything to Thufrat, he had already gotten a slap on the back. "Thanks for the help pal, much appreciated!"

He just chuckled a little as a response, before he turned back to Ephine again.

"Let's go and get Atar so we can leave this place."

Ephine just nodded, and they all set out in the general direction Ark had come from. Though they hadn't been far away, they had kept moving, and it took the group of five almost 5 minutes to find them, even though they were travelling at full speed.

When they caught up with the large group of adventurers, they were met with nothing but shocked faces and slacked jaws. The crowd was quickly pushed away though as a small boy pushed his way forward. "Mama, Papa!" The sound of a young boy's echoed as he ran as fast as he could into his mother's embrace.

After they had their moment, he even gave Ark a hug, before he happily jumped around all over the place.

This day had been way too stressful for him, as he was still just a child after all, but seeing the only people he cared about safe, he could finally relax and calm down a little. Which only made him more ecstatic and jumpy. Ark only smiled at the sight, before he turned to the young lady.

"Now that the reunion is out of the way, let's talk some business."
