Chapter 216: Group Fight

Chapter 216: Group Fight

The carriage that was moving rapidly came to an abrupt halt and out of the carriage came Cole, Matilda, and Julia, along with Milo, who had sat at the front of the carriage and was driving it.

Seeing them, Damian smiled and felt much more confident in their ability to win, but everyone else who was there couldn't help but be shocked and amused.

"Hahaha, I really believed there might be some threatening reinforcements, but it is merely more students from that peasant academy," ridiculed the royal academy student.

"They won't be able to do much good and we will merely be disposing of more trash," added the other.

The three mercenaries were also laughing, but the mercenary group leader couldn't help but be interested in what those kids would be capable of as they all had a similar look in their eyes to Damian.

"Really, Damian. These are the reinforcements that you were waiting for. Could your academy not send at least an Inner Academy Student" complained Clay, who despite being happy they had more reinforcements, didn't believe that more Outer Academy Students would be of much help.

Damian was the only one other than his father that had managed to earn his respect and make him feel fired up and ready to take on anything, while he merely looked down on most others his age apart from a few that were talented.

Despite their talent, without the conviction, drive and determination that Damian had, he felt as though they were nothing and from what he could see and sense, Damian's friends didn't seem to be anything amazing.

"Damian, are you okay?" asked Milo as he rushed to his side and began checking his injuries.

Even Julia, who would usually act cold and would have an angry expression, showed concern as she checked his wounds, and it was clear that Damian could no longer fight and his wounds could also prove to be fatal if they weren't sorted out soon.

"Damian, who is this kid?" asked Milo as he walked over to Clay in a threatening manner.

"He is a Royal Academy Student and that arrogant look in his eyes annoyed me," added Cole as he also approached Clay.

Clay had faced many opponents his age and older than him, but it was rare that he would feel intimidated by others, even when they had a higher cultivation level than him.

And yet Cole and Milo caused him to step back and their aura was overbearing, despite their cultivation level being lower than his and also being the same age as him.

"Back off guys, it's a long story, but he is on my side this time. I will tell you everything after, but we need to fight those guys and find a way to retreat or eliminate all threats," stated Damian.

His words that alluded to needing to kill to survive shocked them all, but looking at the blood on Damian's body that couldn't have only belonged to him and the two dead bodies that lay on the ground, it was clear that Damian had a tough time.

The rumours that an individual with white hair and yellow eyes killing a royal academy student and hospitalising another had spread quite widely around the city and even the country.

It wasn't because it was a big deal, but because it was the first time that someone from Akegria Academy had dared to kill someone from the Royal Academy, especially at a time where tension within the county was very high.

Both factions hadn't acted yet, but it was clear that conflict might be sparked because of that event and all they could do was wait to see what happened next and await news about what had happened to that Akegria Academy Student.

That event had also caused both academies to become more restrictive on students being allowed to leave the academy and it was the reason why nobody was able to come and look for Damian or come to his aid.

His friends were barely able to do so and luckily, they had managed to arrive just in time to save him.

"How about we have some fun? I propose a group fight. All 6 of you against the 5 of us," stated the leader of the mercenary group.

Hearing what he said, everyone was surprised, especially the royal academy students who realised they were being included in the offer.

"We will not be fighting, we hired you guys to do that for us"

However, despite what they said, they knew that they had no choice but to fight and do as the mercenary leader said, as their survival relied on him.

"Don't be so worried, as long as you entertain me, I won't let you die"

Such a cruel and twisted person disgusted Damian and those fighting on his side as they all prepared themselves to fight, knowing that turning back and surrendering weren't options.

"I know this might be hard and might seem cruel and inhumane, but you must strike to kill. They are attacking us to kill and if you hesitate or hold back, we will be at a big disadvantage and could lose our lives. I appreciate you all coming to my aid, but at this point, I can barely stand, so I will be relying on your all"

They had already figured out everything that he had said for themselves and were planning to do exactly that, but it was only the adrenaline and their care for Damian that was allowing them to think that way.

When it came to survival, it was unbelievable what people would do and what they would be capable of, and the same could be said when one was protecting those they cared about or fighting out of anger.

All of them were fighting with all three of those things and since they had no choice but to fight, losing and allowing themselves to be killed was not an option.
