The Chronicles of the Immortal God

Chapter 124: Immortal Conclave

Chapter 124: Immortal Conclave

“Sigh.” Fang Jia knew that right now, they were basically trapped. If they wanted to go out, they need the Fang Clan to talk with the Immortal Conclave.

The Immortal Conclave was an informal organization composed of Fifth Stage Powerhouses in the Immortal Continent. Once a practitioner steps on the Fifth Stage, they will be invited to join the Immortal Conclave.

In other words, it’s a club for Fifth Stage Practitioners.

Joining the Immortal Conclave can be considered to be beneficial to any Fifth Stage Practitioner. Items that can only be used by Fifth Stage Practitioners will be traded in the Immortal Conclave. The Immortal Conclave can also request its members some tasks that will be rewarded heavily.

It depends on these practitioners if they want to accomplish the said tasks. But the rewards were usually tempting that they do it anyway.

One more important activity in the Immortal Conclave was about the welfare of the Immortal Continent.

Once a danger appears that can impact the whole Immortal Continent, the Immortal Conclave can send out some practitioners to deal with it. This problem must be of course, something that not anyone below the Fifth Stage can deal with. If it can be dealt easily though, the Immortal Conclave will not make its move.

The Immortal Conclave was obviously behind the sealing of the Solstice Kingdom. No sect, family or empire will be that fast enough to disseminate five Fifth Stage Practitioners to seal the Solstice Kingdom.

Now, Fang Jia had no other choice but to wait. From what she remembered, the Fang Clan patriarch was busy stopping Xiao Ya.

But with the attack of the Underworld Soldiers, Xiao Ya had no way to approach the Solstice Kingdom since she was at the Sixth Stage already. This means that the Fang Clan Patriarch was free to talk to the higher-ups of the Immortal Conclave.

As for the higher-ups in the Immortal Conclave, nobody knows who really they are. The only information that they know was each of them was at least half-step in the Sixth Stage!

What was more mysterious was that nobody knew when the Immortal Conclave really started. Nobody even knew who created the Immortal Conclave.

What everyone knew was that the Immortal Conclave was the most powerful gathering of practitioners!

But its members were usually not that committed to the Immortal Conclave. They have their own family, sect or empire that they belong to. The Immortal Conclave was usually second in their hearts. As such, unity was not the strongest suit of the Immortal Conclave.

There were some special rules in the Immortal Conclave too.

If a lower stage practitioner was proven to have the ability to fight equally against a Fifth Stage Practitioner, they will be cordially invited by the Immortal Conclave.

Most of them usually complies, but there were some who prefer to be alone.

For example, Ling Tian in his past life managed to get invited in the Immortal Conclave while he was in the Fourth Stage. Because of his personality though, he rejected the invitation.

Xiao Ya and Tang Luo accepted the said invitation though.

Another special rule of the Immortal Conclave was that once one of its members manage to step in the Immortal Stage, they have to leave the Immortal Conclave. This rule made Xiao Yan and Tang Luo leave the Immortal Conclave when they reached the Immortal Stage.

This rule seemed to be counter-intuitive to many, but they just accepted it.

As of today, most of the Dao Domain Stage and freakishly talented Dao Soul Stage Practitioners in the Immortal Continent was a member of the Immortal Conclave except for some proud and obstinate practitioners.

They might not be that united but once the Immortal Conclave was serious on something, everyone had to take them seriously.

The assault of the Underworld was obviously a grave matter that concerns the well-being of the whole planet. Everyone expects the Immortal Conclave to lead the defense against the invaders.

They might even cooperate with the God Continent to contain the danger.

Fang Jia estimated that they may be only allowed to leave the formation by tomorrow. The Immortal Conclave will obviously not let them leave until the first wave of the invaders have began attacking. Those who will survive that will surely be allowed to leave.

As of now, they had no choice but to survive the attack later.

Fang Jia’s eyes snapped wide open as she felt some presences approaching the spirit ship. With her cultivation base suppressed, Fang Jia could only look out of the window to see who were coming.

She saw 6 people running towards them, with their weapons drawn. From observing their faces, Fang Jia realized the identity of the three of them.

Ling Tian, Tang Ya and Wang Hao. As for the other three, even if Fang Jia could not recognize them, the robes they wear symbolizes that these three are some of the generals of the Raiders of the Night!

“Go on, shoo them away. And if you can... kill them!” Fang Jia said resolutely.

“Kill them? Why would you do that!” Fang Yu was surprised hearing such words from Fang Jia. “If you successfully kill them, the Immortal God Sect will be quite pissed with you.”

“Will they know about it?” Fang Jia said calmly.

“.......”

“Exactly. With all of us trapped and isolated here, as long as none of them survives, the Immortal God Sect will not know how they died.” Fang Jia said as she rocked her chair.

“But.....”

“Well, with the talent of your friends, they will surely not die. But they will be in a lot of pain.”

“.....”

.............................

Some minutes earlier.

While Fang Jia and Fang Yu were stupefied by the sealing of the Solstice Kingdom, Ling Tian seemed to be the most enraged of them.

“Those damned fogies!” Ling Tian shouted as he stomped on the ground. “They actually permitted such thing like this! Has the Immortal Conclave has fallen this low?”

“Wait, THE Immortal Conclave?” Wang Hao’s eyes narrowed as he looked suspiciously at Ling Tian. Wang Hao adopted a pondering tone as he asked Ling Tian, “How the hell did you associate them with this sealing? Do you know something that we don’t?”

Ling Tian cursed Wang Hao silently as he realized that Wang Hao was still suspicious of him. He realized that he had to stop slipping up, or Wang Hao with his intelligence, might discover that Ling Tian was a reincarnator.

With the rise of the Underworld as the primary place after death, Ling Tian’s reincarnation was an anomaly. Not only that, but he also reincarnated with his memories! Even in the times before the Underworld was established, people like Ling Tian who reincarnated with their memories intact will be hunted down to be used by others.

They can be used in some soul rituals, or even as cultivation furnaces.

That’s how bad it was before the Underworld was created. But in the present times, as long as you reincarnated, with memories or not, the whole Underworld will be out for your blood.

For them, reincarnation is the greatest sin someone can commit against the Underworld. The Underworld abhors reincarnation, and any reincarnators caught by the residents of the Underworld will have their bodies devoured and their souls destroyed.

They will be completely and permanently dead.

Ling Tian knew that with the arrival of the Underworld Soldiers, he had to keep his secret even more secret. He was sure that the Underworld Soldiers will ignore their mission to invade once they discover Ling Tian’s reincarnation.

Ling Tian was not willing to die just because he slipped up some words. He swore to himself that he can only die once he fulfills his revenge on the two bastards who betrayed him.

Right now, he will do everything he can to survive.

Even if it meant killing his comrades.

But before Ling Tian could even prepare himself to attack, Wang Hao snorted as he walked forward.

“Forget it, if you do not want to answer that, fine. But be sure you’re not plotting against us. If you do, remember that you will not succeed.”

Ling Tian gave a silent sigh in relief as Wang Hao backed off from questioning him. He smiled as he followed his footsteps.

Ling Tian knew that as long as he does not tell anyone about his reincarnation, even if an Underworld Soldier was in front of him, they won’t know that Ling Tian was a reincarnator.

Oh how wrong he was.

...............

Underworld, beside the portal that leads to Solstice Kingdom.

The arrogant speaker from earlier paused as he seemed to detect something. He sniffed the air, as if he smelled something irresistible. He sniffed for a few more minutes and then he flopped on his chair.

Moments later and the arrogant speaker started laughing uproariously.

“Hahahaha! I did not expect to find a reincarnator in this Kingdom! This is great! If I catch him... I might even get promoted as a Marquis, or even a Duke!” The arrogant speaker stood up, and seconds later, his whole body was covered with an armor made from bones.

The ghastly aura from his armor managed to even elicit some shivers from the person beside him.

“Tell the 13th Battalion to hasten their preparations. I will personally lead the First Wave!”

“But Young Master!”

“Do not worry about me. I have an opportunity dangling in front of me now! If I do not take it, how can I even be worthy of carrying the bloodline of the great Yama!”

“....... I shall go now Young Master.”

“Do it quick.”

......................

“Hahahahaha!”

Laughter suddenly echoed in the whole Solstice Kingdom as the arrogant speaker showed his glee to the residents of the place that he will invade.

Ling Tian felt fear from hearing this laugh. It felt like he was now in a mortal danger, and that he had no escape. He shook his head, thinking that it must be because of the incoming Underworld Soldiers.

“Whatever happens, I will leave this place alive!”

“That’s the spirit!” Wang Hao cheered beside Ling Tian.

“.......”
