Chapter 849 Plan Of Escape
Chapter 849 Plan Of Escape
"I don't think we should allow them to leave like this Chief..""Yes, what if they bring trouble to us.."
"We haven't even confirmed their identities yet. It's too risky to just let them go.."
The Village Elders were protesting against the Village Chief.
Currently, all the figures with authority had gathered at the Village Chief's house, as some serious decisions were to be taken.
The Village Chief had put forward the proposal of releasing the Prisoners, that is, both Max and Blinken. And, some people were definitely not happy with it.
After all, the Village Chief's reasoning was not satisfying to them. He had just said what Max had said to him last night. It was all about how Max and Blinken were here to hunt the beast.
Even though it sounded all right, some still feared that Max and Blinken would turn against them for revenge or maybe this was all part of some even bigger plans.
"So, you guys think that we should keep them locked up?" The Village Chief asked as he turned his head towards the group who was against his decision.
The Elders nodded and confirmed it.
"Good, in that case, tell me how you will stop those two?" The Village Chief once again asked with a smile.
"Huh?" The question indeed left this group of old men a little dumbfounded and confused.
"Think about it, I told you those two are strong. Is the Village capable of offending them? I am sure it is. But, is the price worth it?" The Village Chief smiled as he saw the faces of the Elder slowly changing, "They are calm for now, expecting us to understand and communicate. But, what when they reach their limit and decide it's enough?"
"..."
There was no reply from anyone this time around.
"Well, I will give you a last chance. If anyone doesn't agree with my decision, then go in and kill those two guys. I don't mind. Eliminate the threat. But, if you can't, then shut up and follow my lead. I don't want anything to happen to the villagers because of your foolish actions.."
People's faces twitched upon hearing that. It sure felt a little humiliating to be embarrassed by someone so younger than them. But, there was a reason that he could be the Chief of the Village even at such a young age.
"Since, there are no more protests, I will take it as everyone's acceptance of the decision." The Village Chief calmly nodded, "Now, if there is nothing else to discuss, then we shall conclude this meeting here.."
The Village Elders looked at each other with a helpless face. Some of them still seemed reluctant. But, they truly didn't have the ability to protest. Not to mention, they knew this person well. Don't go on his young face. If he was pissed he sure had the ability to make your life miserable.
…
"This guy sure doesn't seem very happy…" Blinken whispered to Max as the two of them were slowly let out of their cages and finally unchained.
"Well, that has nothing to do with us.." Max calmly replied as he stretched his hands a little and gave the guards a look. These people probably didn't know that Max and Blinken were released because they were too strong to be kept under prison. After all, such news being leaked to common people might cause unnecessary tension. This was the only reason that they were unafraid and glaring at them.
"Follow me.." One of the guards spoke as he looked at Max and Blinken with a deadly glare before turning around and leading them out of the Prison area.
Outside, a little group of people was waiting for them with the Village Chief in the lead.
"I am very thankful for your understanding." Max calmly greeted the red haired guy. He could guess that there must have been resistance against his release. But, this person still did it. So, the least he could do was act politely and show that he was indeed a good guy.
"I am the one who should be apologizing. We misunderstood you and mistreated you two. I hope you will forgive us and not keep it in your heart." The Village Chief smiled in return.
"Surely not, I totally understand your concerns.." Max replied back and the two exchanged pleasantries. This sure seems to ease the expressions of the Village Elders behind.
With that, it was decided that Max and Blinken would be treated as the guest for the the day and a little feast would be organized for them as a sign of apology before they could finally leave tomorrow.
"Finally, free of the crowd.." Blinken muttered with a sigh as they entered their place of residence.
"Well, control yourself. The people are only showing hostility, not doing anything.." Max muttered with a smile.
"Yes, I hope that too. Please show some restraint. They are just commoners who have suffered too much.." A voice suddenly sounded as the door to the room opened, and the Village Chief walked in.
"They finally left you alone?" Max asked with a laugh. He could see the guards were specially sticking close to him as they were perceiving Max and Blinken to be a threat to his life. This was the reason that they couldn't find time to discuss things properly.
"I can't blame them for it…" The Village Chief let out a sigh as he took a seat.
"Well, then tell me how are you going to go out with us? Will the Villagers let you go out that easily?" Blinken asked with raised brows. From what he had seen, it didn't seem like this guy could live in the village peacefully, especially with them.
"Well, I plan to just leave a letter behind to inform. It's not like I need their permission to go anyways.." The guy just shrugged.
"Why does it feel like we are helping a bride run away from her wedding?" Blinken asked with a weird look on his face, and a second later all of them burst out laughing.
Things were sure going to get crazy.
