Chapter 93 Dragontale Twin Sabers
Merlin had to clear his throat and intervene in order to attempt to calm both parties equally.
It was never good to offend a Weaponsmith, even less if they were talking about the self-proclaimed 'Titan Weaponsmith', one of the people with the biggest temper he knew.
Merlin was already astonished that Zayn was still unscathed and had the guts to not just look but stare down at the Titan Weaponsmith, who liked to be called Titan.
"I will teach him and we will see how talented he is. If he is not worth it, I won't continue to train him and we will go our separate ways," Merlin explained, "Don't be too harsh on him. He is still young and you have no idea what he went through after it was found out that he would never receive a God's Blessing!"
Even if it took Merlin some effort, Titan seemed to have mellowed down a bit. Titan nodded his head in understanding after he took a few steps back.
Seeing the Weaponsmith retreat was exactly what Merlin had hoped for, and it gave him the necessary leeway to try out something, "Zayn is paying for his own stuff, so don't demand too much, okay? You know that I have no money to support him and we need to buy a bunch of other things as well!"
The Weaponsmith turned over to Zayn, his eyes squinted and his expression changing once again.
"So you're just a kid from a rich family like Lara. Being born in a rich family doesn't immediately mean that the Gods would think highly of you. Hahaha, that's what I call karma!" Titan laughed, which still sounded like a loud bellow. He was having a hard time taking a breath and completely ignored that he was being eyed weirdly by both Merlin and Zayn.
Right now, not even Merlin could understand what was going on with the Master Weaponsmith. Did he just lose his sanity?
"You're just one of the rotten kids who buy things on a whim just because you can," Titan growled in distaste after he got back to his senses. He turned over to Merlin, shaking his head, "Looks like you found an exact replica of Lara, congratulations!"
It was obvious that Titan was ridiculing both Merlin and Zayn. However, while Merlin could endure it rather easily, Zayn furrowed his eyebrows. He frowned deeply and before Merlin could do something to hold Zayn back, his mouth opened, and words tumbled out.
"Nobody helped me earn my money. I don't need anyone's help to get rich," Zayn said, still somewhat calm which caused Merlin to sigh in relief before he added, "I'm an Orphan, you asshat!"
Zayn's eyes were ice-cold and his chest was heaving when he faced the Weaponsmith. Meanwhile, Merlin's sigh of relief was sucked in once again. He flinched and didn't really want to see the death of his disciple before he got a chance to see how talented Zayn actually was. Thus, Merlin was ready to pull Zayn out of the shop, with force, if that was necessary.
However, Titan didn't say anything and he didn't move either. There was no hostility in the air, only for the Master Weaponsmith to nod his head after a while.
"Hmm…let's forget what I said earlier," He grumbled before walking back to the forge where the weapon he had finished forging not too long ago was resting, "Come over and take a look."
The moment Zayn called the Weaponsmith 'asshat', he expected to be beaten into a pulp. He knew he had done a grave mistake but to his surprise the Weaponsmith preferred to stay quiet, which was quite a surprise.
On the contrary, he seemed to be welcomed by the Weaponsmith and treated like a VIP customer. That felt extremely weird and awkward as well. This awkwardness stayed with him, tormenting Zayn for the next two hours before he had finally chosen his companions.
"The Dragontale Twin Sabers, good choice!" The Master Weaponsmith commented, surprised that the Saber set was still in his possession. He could have sworn that the Dragontale Twin Sabers hadn't been in the shop for the last few years. Titan couldn't remember having sold them, but he was pretty sure that they had disappeared for a few years.
However, that was obviously an advantage for Zayn since the Dragontale Twin Sabers seemed to be suitable for him. That was something everyone in the room could tell quite clearly upon looking at the intricate patterns that were engraved on the blade of the two weapons.
"If the blades chose you as their rightful owner, you will be able to decipher the content of the intricate patterns by moving the blades together," Titan informed, even though he was not too sure whether this was the truth or not. The Dragontale Twin Sabers were not a product of his craftsmanship. It was a gift he had received from his old master. The Saber Set was the only gift he ever received from his Master, but it was also a gift that was supposed to be forwarded to its rightful owner.
Zayn was not sure if he understood what Titan said but he injected his soul particles into the Dragontale Sabers whose intricate patterns began to glow faintly. Even though he had no idea what he was actually doing, he pulled the blades together, to overlap the patterns, which revealed something that caused his eyes to widen in shock.
'I..my past self…knows this language!' He nearly blurted out, just to quickly hide his astonishment by clearing his throat.
"In the land of ice and snow,
Where the winds howl and the rivers flow,
Stand the Dragontale Sabers, proud and true.
Their blades as cold as the arctic blue.
Waiting to be wielded by you!
~Destroyer~" He mumbled as he read the words that formed on the blade.
Zayn's eyes widened when he was done reading through the message. It was not because he seemed to be the rightful owner of the Dragontale Saber Set, but due to a completely different reason.
The letters carved on the Dragontale Sabers' blades were utter nonsense without any meaning, but by overlapping the Dragontale Saber blades, they turned into entire sentences that made sense as long as one understood the language of the world Zayn came from.
What did that mean? Quite a lot, yet nothing at the same time…
'Was someone from my world here before?'
