"It's already over?"
Lying on the ground, Zayn's eyes fluttered open. He was still dead-tired but his soul particles were fully replenished.
"The Giant King's Soul Wisp!!"
A single thought was all it took to make sure that Zayn would jump up from the ground. He rushed over to the corpse of the Giant King, clutched the escaping Soul Wisp, and used Spirit Manifestation.
A humongous, 15-meter-tall Spirit manifested in front of Zayn. It possessed three fully nourished Soulrings and superior talent, much stronger than Maman's talent at that.
But Zayn paid no heed to any of that. He was too damn tired.
His mind was mush from going all-out to severely injure the Giant King. It may not have looked like it, but using the Dragontale Twin Saber's compressed glacier slashes with every trace of soul particles in his body was certainly not an easy feat.
His used-up mental power was not replenished after the Tower challenge ended, but that was fine.
He could rest a little bit while Glutton would digest the highly nutritious body of the Giant King.
Zayn didn't even gather a proper thought before he dozed off.
Several hours passed before he woke up on the same cold floor as before. He hadn't been thrown out of the Cavern Tower yet!
'Nice. I can avoid these idiots a little bit longer,' Zayn thought, thinking about the annoying Leaders of the Legion Camps. These old men and women had been way too annoying.
Except for Sarah, all of them were just a nuisance, and hardly helpful.
Accessing the Silvermoon Bracelet, he took a quick look at the rewards he had been given.
"Two Memory Crystals? Well, that is certainly advantageous," He thought out loud, smiling faintly.
However, he didn't retrieve them yet. Before using the Memory Crystals, Zayn wanted to be in his best form. Achieving that was pretty simple by absorbing the Soul Orbs Glutton produced from digesting the Giant King's body.
The Giant King's body was still not fully devoured, and it looked like Glutton would have to work tirelessly for a few more days, but that was no problem. Glutton produced more than enough Soul Orbs to fill his fourth Soulring a little.
Now that the Giant King Spirit was manifested, Zayn's Soul felt a little heavy. The Giant King was not only his first Soul Lord Spirit but it was also a higher existence. Kings possessed a much higher combat prowess than Champions, Berserker or other unique mutations of the same type. They were the sovereigns of their race and thus also the strongest.
Zayn was already lucky that the Giant King didn't seem to resist his manifestation too much. On the contrary, the Giant King Spirit was rather satisfied with his Berserker and ordinary Soldiers by its side. That was pretty interesting and certainly advantageous.
'If the Giant King can lead his people and train them properly that would be the best possible outcome!'
Zayn felt that his new Spirits were the best possible reward he could have gotten in the Cavern Tower. Of course, the drastic increase of his soul particles – resulting in an enhancement in his strength – was also great, but it was incomparable to the Spirits' might and wide range of utility.
Devouring the Soul Orbs produced by Glutton didn't take up too much of his time. After half a day, he finished the first batch Glutton produced. Only then did he retrieve the two Memory Crystals.
They didn't look special. It was just two blue crystals. Crushing them transferred the stored memories inside the brain of the nearest being.
Without thinking about it too long, Zayn crushed the Memory Crystals one after another.
Various streams of information and memories entered his mind. The memories were clear and the pieces of information were rich in detail.
As for the content, it was easy to understand and not too hard to apply.
"A Martial Arts technique and a movement technique…the former originates from the Green Giant race, while the latter belongs to a…mechanical lifeform? No, it's not fully mechanical. It's part human part robot…some sort of Cyborg probably."
The information he received was about the techniques, not the races, but Zayn could vividly recall the memories he saw from the practitioners of either technique. Thus, he knew that the Martial Arts technique was used by the Green Giant race and that the Cyborgs used the movement technique.
Either way, Zayn was able to practice both techniques because he met the necessary requirements, one being that he possessed enough soul particles and the other being that his anatomy was similar to both the Green Giants and the Cyborgs. While it was quite astonishing that he possessed similar anatomy as the Cyborgs, the Green Giants were just humongous humans. There was not really any other noteworthy difference when comparing humans and Green Giants.
"King, are you familiar with a Martial Arts technique called 'Mercur Catanis'? If not, let me transfer the knowledge in your mind. I think you and Champion are the only ones who can handle the technique for now. Once the others are ready, you should teach them," Zayn told the Giant King Spirit once he finished organizing his thoughts.
The Giant King Spirit stared blankly at Zayn for several minutes before it began to move. It kneeled down and lowered its head.
'That is not necessary to transfer memories to my Spirits, but whatever.'
Zayn didn't think too much about it. He shared the Mercur Catanis Martial Arts technique with King and Champion before he started to practice it a little.
Mercur Catanis was an unarmed martial arts technique. This was something Zayn didn't really favor, but it was actually quite useful to practice the technique. Practicing it to a high mastery increased his flexibility and strength considerably. That was certainly advantageous and something Zayn wanted to make use of.
He couldn't be certain that he would never need a close combat martial arts technique either. Staying fit was a nice side-effect, and something the movement technique's foundation could be built upon.
Cy-Stride was the name of the movement technique. It was a quite powerful movement technique that increased the acceleration and speed limit of the user drastically. However, Cy-Stride was also a technique that forced a heavy toll on the user's body. It was recommended to use the technique only a few times in succession, otherwise, the practitioner's body would receive long-lasting, if not permanent, injuries.
Zayn started to practice both techniques without any qualms. He possessed the necessary knowledge thanks to the transferred information and memories. They had been very helpful as they made the entire understanding process much easier.
'So this is the real reward? Well, I can certainly make use of that!
