Chapter 16: XVI Farewell
Chapter 16: XVI Farewell
With the all the draugen destroyed.
Chloe pointed to the ground, creating a few Relieve Pain Herbs that she fed to Elijah.
Chloe looked at Elijah, his eyes were closed, but she couldn't stop herself from staring at his eyes, hair and lips. She stood there, resting her hands on her chin and looking at him very carefully, resting her hands on her chin, just looking at him. In fact, without even noticing she started to smile.
But realizing what she was feeling her expression darkened as she sighed. "I would have never thought that after my death in that war. I would fall in love with a mortal child. If i was a mortal...
If I could at least have past more time by your side before recovering my memories..."
Then Chloe shook her head. 'Now that the memories have returned, can I even hope to live like a mortal? It's better not think about this, I will just wait and see if it's our fate to be together.'
But she still had another worry on her hearth, Elijah's Power.
The truth is that even she could not understand is the power that Elijah showed when he was fighting the draugen.
At that time she had awakened some of her memories. She only had her memory and not her powers.
But even then it was easy to defeat some draugen, but then he exploded with a power she had never seen before and destroyed all the draugen in the blink of an eye.
At first she thought he was using the power of his god but she had recognized his Goddess from when he used that fake teleport. And that brute strength is not part of that goddess's domain.
Then she took him in her arms and carried it on her back as she walked through this damp, gloomy cave with for several hours until she found a stone door.
Beyond the stone door lied a narrow, worn room, covered in moss, broken stones and roots.
Chloe waved her hand illuminating the surrounds, allowing her to see remnants of a small camp, long lost and wiped out from time itself.
She wiped the dust off the old camp and placed Elijah gently in a sleeping bag, and begin to explore the room.
And from nowhere she saw a path opening, leading her to a Grand Hall with a Giant Golden Gate in front of her.
Sensing her presence, The Giant Gate trembled as it shot a ray of golden light on her.
"By the nine worlds! This boy! He is... I see, my brothers and sisters back in my clan would be scared out of their cores if they knew who you really are." Them her vision blacked and she appeared back in the old camp holding Elijah like nothing happened.
She looked at the boy in her arms with a terrified and amazed expression after discovering his true identity.
"I never thought this was possible. After several wars, It seems we were finally approaching the final phase."
Chloe lifted her head after making a decision about something and her eyes seemed determined as she stroked her hair affectionately. Every moment she passed by Elijah went through her head as her eyes began to get moist.
"Ell, I need to leave now. I wanted to live with you while w grown into a fine man. When I leave, just remember to not let any women take advantage of you, okay?"
Then she left him a note, as well a few fruits before she leaves.
