Chapter 1481: Hunting Down
Chapter 1481: Hunting Down
Even though Shang Xia managed to prevent the ships from being blown away and separated, both of them were still hovering in the void.
The follow-up attack that Shang Xia expected didn’t come. The rank six spiritual beast that had been flying towards them when the massive blast appeared earlier also disappeared.
“Oh no! They’re trying to escape!” Shang Xia suddenly realized what they were doing after their plan failed and he rushed into the void.
The Ying Brothers also reacted quickly and understood what just happened. Earlier in the chaotic streams, they were attacked by the high-level spiritual beasts. One was killed and the other was injured. The strength Shang Xia and the Ying Brothers displayed caused fear to be born in their hearts. The final blast that came wasn’t an attempt to attack them... It was to cover their escape!
The Ying Brothers quickly rushed over to try to intercept the spiritual beasts as they opened a spatial tunnel to charge over to where they last saw them.
However, when they reappeared, the figures had already disappeared.
Looking at each other, they revealed a bitter smile as they continued to chase.
Shang Xia also created several spatial tunnels by then and he could see a massive world in the distance. It was probably the Azure Savage World the Ying Brothers were locating but he couldn’t be bothered with it at the moment. Flying into the void, he could feel faint fluctuations coming from another direction.
“I found you...” Shang Xia mumbled. He knew that the Ying Brothers wouldn’t lose him and he quickly rushed at the disturbance he felt.
...
Less than 100,000 miles from the heavenly screen of the Azure Savage World, the Ying Brothers revealed complicated expressions as they felt something under the heavenly screen as they continued to chase.
“Big brother, do you think we will be able to find the inheritance the senior left behind and complete ours?” Ying Lianquan asked. He revealed a rare expression of worry as he spoke.
Slight hesitation flashed across Ying Lianxi’s face, but he quickly composed himself. “Most definitely... We looked for dozens of years before finding this place based on the inheritance and this should be where the senior spent his last days... This is the only place the inheritance can be...”
Ying Lianxi seemed like he was convincing Ying Lianquan, but he was also trying to convince himself. Nôv(el)B\\jnn
“You’re right. It’s a shame we weren’t strong enough when we came here back then and we weren’t able to enter the world...” Ying Lianquan mumbled softly. “Do you think True Immortal Shang will be offended that we kept the secret from him or will try to steal it from us after we enter the world?”
Originally, they only planned to invite Shang Xia to help them without any other intentions. However, after 3 short years, Shang Xia, who was originally a fifth tier True Immortal, had already reached the sixth tier and was a very powerful one at that.
They thought that they were comparable to Shang Xia after unleashing their secret art and that they could even suppress him. They were also at ease with letting him join them since he came from the Heaven Observation Field.
With the combat strength he revealed, they realized they had severely underestimated him. His skills were also something beyond their realm of comprehension.
If Shang Xia plotted against them during their invasion, they were truly afraid they wouldn’t be able to fight back.
They felt that if they already learned of Shang Xia’s improvements, they wouldn’t have invited him to take part in the invasion.
It was a shame things had already progressed up to that point and it was too late for regrets. Moreover, if not for Shang Xia’s timely appearance, they would have already been wiped out.
Hearing Ying Lianquan’s worries, Ying Lianxi thought for a moment before shaking his head. “No... He won’t. We planned to find our footing here in the first place and this has nothing to do with the inheritance. Moreover, True Immortal Shang’s path is completely different from what we practice. For him to reach his level, his dao heart is firm. He won’t try to cultivate another inheritance. Even if he really wants it... We’ll give him a copy!”
“This...” Ying Lianquan still couldn’t hide his worries.
Eventually, Ying Lianxi made the decision and spoke in a calm voice, “It’s just an inheritance. There’s no need to hold so much importance to it. It’s also like I said. He might not even care about it. We’ll play it by ear later.”
Seeing as Ying Lianquan was about to say something, he quickly stopped it. “Enough. It’s decided. We have to catch up to him now after falling so far behind!”
Both of them continued to travel through the void and when they reappeared, they failed to find any traces of Shang Xia. Instead, they felt faint spatial fluctuations in the distance as a marker for them.
Ying Lianquan eventually sighed, “True Immortal Shang is taking this so seriously... If we didn’t know better, I would say that he was the one who planned to conquer the Azure Savage World...”
“Don’t speak of this again, especially in front of him. You should know why True Immortal Shang is doing this too.” Ying Lianxi shot him a glare and gave him a serious warning.
Helpless, Ying Lianquan mumbled, “Yeah, yeah, I know he wants to find out where the spiritual beasts come from...”
“Since you know, don’t talk about it that way in case you create misunderstandings...” Ying Lianxi growled.
After some time, Ying Lianxi spoke again, “Anyway, there is no doubt that True Immortal Shang is a lot more experienced in invading worlds...”
“Isn’t the Heaven Observation Field about to be revealed to the rest of the sea of stars? Could the worlds in the Heaven Observation Field still be fighting among themselves? Heh... Looks like we discovered some pretty interesting news. If we reveal this information to the other worlds...”
Seeing Ying Lianxi’s frosty gaze landing on him, Ying Lianquan revealed an embarrassed chuckle. “I’m just kidding...”
Both of them continued to fly through the void as they felt the spatial fluctuations getting more intense.
When they approached, they were thrown off by a strange pulse but they quickly released their domains and stabilized themselves.
As they circulated their inner qi and looked over, they saw a giant beast that was thousands of feet tall turning to mush after Shang Xia slammed his Stone Rod into the beast’s head.
Only then did they see a spatial tunnel behind the beast which was forcefully being maintained at the moment. The moment the entrance to it crumbled, locating the spiritual beast pack was going to be extremely difficult.
The Ying Brothers were thousands of miles away at the moment. There wasn’t even a need to mention the fact that they couldn’t get there in time to stabilize the spatial tunnel. Even if they were right in front of it, they didn’t have the skills to do so.
It was then that they saw Shang Xia tossing out the Stone Rod he had been holding. It shot straight for the spatial tunnel, propping up its entrance. That wasn’t all. The unsteady tunnel became a lot more solid than before and it even looked like the crumbling space on the other end was being reconstructed.
They might not know what Shang Xia did, but they could guess that it had something to do with his secret art.
Shang Xia turned to them suddenly and asked, “When will the Spirit Ark and Xin Lu arrive?”
