Chapter 129: An Invite
Chapter 129: An Invite
In the end, Jennie helped Sol to get home while Harry gets Tom and Tea back to the city as their appointment time was about to come.
If they wait for Sol to recover then Tom and Tea would long leave their waiting spot as Sol would need to wait for more than a day to heal his injuries without using his healing dome ability.
That was just how bad his injuries were, If Sol only has some minor injuries then a few minutes would let him heal to perfect health.
But to his dismay, the injuries dealt by Mad Dog in its true form slow down his healing considerably, it was like his purple lightning that hinders others from healing.
When Tea and Tom got back, they gather in Sol's room to discuss what happened, Tea and Tom looked at Sol who was helplessly laying on his bed.
"Pfftt... what happened to you?" Tom could not hold his laugh back while Tea turned her head aside so Sol could not see her laughing at him.
Sol looked funny with his body covered in bandages, only his face was visible, although he conjured the bandage by himself, Sol could not make it look pretty as he needs to cover everything.
Normally Demigods didn't need bandages, but it would be different if their injuries were not healing properly, they would need to tend to so their injuries would heal.
"Fuck, this is not funny! If you were in my place then the one being covered in bandage would be you!" Sol could not help but retort at the two of them.
"Alright, alright, you go calm down and rest, Jennie explains what happened," Tea looked at Jennie for clarification.
"to keep it short, Harry loses his fight while I win mine, we could get our prize money from the old man in the lobby," She started.
"How about Sol? What happened to him? Did he lose miserably?" Tom could not wait for Jennie to explain the whole situation and asked what he wanted to know.
"No, He also wins his fight, but..." Jennie about to continue his explanation but Tom cuts in again, "Eh? He wins? Then why he looks so miserable?" he asked.
Sol wanted to protest but Tea pushed then a pillow on his face telling him to rest, with Sol unable to protest, Jennie continued her story.
"Sol was matched up against a minor Demi-titan," She just started but both Tom and Tea already took a cold deep breath.
"Minor Demi-Titan? Would not be cheating for the rule?" Tea could not help asked her doubt.
"The demi-titan was sealed so it did not have its full power, at first Sol was holding his own against it, even pushing it back at some point," Jennie explained what happened.
"At the late stage of the duel, the Demi-titan broke the seal and regain its full power and attack Sol in rage, and this is what happens after it," she pointed at Sol who was covered in bandages.
Both Tea and Tom exchange a look before they patted Sol's shoulder, "This might be karma, next time you need to do help other while doing less bad thing so your karma would get better," Tom said jokingly at Sol.
Sol finally had it, rather than talk with them he conjured dozen of ice projectiles which sent everyone else running out of the room while laughing.
"Tsk, just a few days ago they were so warry of each other, how did we become so close?" Sol wondered to himself.
For the rest of the day, Sol was resting and recovering, he used his healing dome whenever no one was with him.
To his surprise, the injuries could hardly be healed with his healing dome ability, "It seems fighting higher rank creature is more dangerous than I thought," Sol muttered.
In the end, he used his limit-break ability when nobody was around, it allows his regeneration to reach an unimaginable degree, the wounds heal at a rapid pace as the purple lightning around his body had dispelled anything that hindered his healing process.
An hour later, Sol was as good as new, he picked himself from the bed and stretched his body, "Finally, should I find someone to spar to check if my body is ok?" he thought with an evil grin on his face.
Sol went out of his room and looked for everyone else, but when he found them in Tea's room, they had a serious face on, he could sense some trouble was brewing.
"What is happening? What with the long look?" Sol asked in question as he comes into the room.
"there was someone sending a letter for us," Harry answered as he pulled up a paper from the table and giving it to Sol.
They were so serious that they did not have time to be shocked by Sol's sudden recovery, they had acknowledged that each of them has secrets and they would not pry it from each other.
Sol was shocked when he heard they got a letter as they did not know anyone in the underworld so there should be nobody looking for them, for them receiving a letter was strange as seeing a pig fly.
"Who is this from?" Sol wondered as he read the content of the letter, it was an invitation letter, Sol, Jennie, and Harry were invited to attend a dinner with the city lord in the city lord mansion.
Sol's hand could not help but tremble, "Can we decline the invitation?" he asked everyone else.
"We was talking about it too but it seems impossible to decline, the city lord was so important that practically no one would want to decline a dinner with him, if we decline then they would be really suspicious about us," Tea explained about their earlier discussion.
"Then how about we leave the city before the appointed time?" Sol looked at them in question.
"That would be impossible as the city guard would notify the city lord when we left the town and it would be the end of us when the city lord and his people hunt us down," she answered.
"our best course of action was to do as we do before, Tom and I would wait out of the city while the three of you meet the city lord," Tea concluded.
"It would be up to you guys to kept our identity a secret if they found out then you would need to run by yourself, we will meet at the source of Styx river if that ever happens," Tea strategized.
Tea had got used to be their leader and take a logical approach, she becomes better and better at planning countermeasure even without Sol helping her.
"Ugh... fine," Sol bitterly agreed with her, he looked at the downcast Harry and Jennie, bot of them regret joining the colosseum battle.
If they did not join the fight then they would not attract the attention of such a monster as the only Major demigod in the city.
"For now, Jennie and Sol go get your reward from the old man downstairs, we would need them to buy maps," Tea ordered.
Sol went down to meet the old man when he met him Sol could feel that the old man was actually stronger than he thought before.
Sol had never seen a major demigod in action before the accident in the colosseum, now he had seen one, Sol could tell that the old man was infinitely close to being a Major Demigod.
"Hi, We want to get our reward," Sol greeted the old man casually, the old man nodded and tell Sol and Jennie to wait for a bit as he went to get their reward.
The money was saved elsewhere because it was inappropriate to keep so much money in the inn's lobby.
"Jennie, do you think that old man could beat the city lord?" Sol asked Jennie.
It was a stupid question to ask if a minor demigod would be able to beat a major demigod but Sol had an intuition that the old man could possibly beat the only major demigod in the city.
"Who knows," Jennie answered with a shrug, she did not seem to mind his question.
When the old man comes back to the lobby with their money, he has two bags of coin for Sol and Jennie.
"This is a hundred coins for each of you, if you want to participate again then you can get more," the old man offers to them.
"it's ok, we are good, we will be going soon so we don't have any time to play," Sol declined the offer.
They were pressed for time as the counter on their bracelet keeps ticking down each day.
Sol and Jennie were about to get away when Sol suddenly turn back to the old man, "The city lord had invited us to attend dinner with him, do you know what is he thinking?" Sol asked the old man suddenly
