Chapter 13: Returning To The Beginner's Village
Chapter 13: Returning To The Beginner's Village
"Why did we come here?" The man asked, bewildered.
Right now, the trio was already standing just outside the Wolf Village. Sylva was now sitting on the left shoulder of her master.
The village wasn't too large compared to any of the cities and the walls surrounding it were only enough to protect the village from low-level ground monsters such as slimes. Seeing it from the outside made the man reluctant to enter. He really was bewildered why did they even come to this Beginner's Village.
Not just him, even Stella was as bewildered as him. She was hoping that they would be teleported to some kind of a grand city since they used an [Angel's Wing] item to teleport themselves.
But reality betrayed her expectation when they landed just outside of this village gate, not too far away from it.
Many Low Rankers were gathered inside and it was more likely to say that they were only an E-rank just by looking from the way they act. Some of them were very hot-headed that as if they were ready to cause a brawl at any moment. Some were just wanting to compare their strength to each other by fighting it out. And the others were busy doing business by selling or trading their items.
"We're going to find 'him' starting from here." The beautiful lady responded leisurely as if she already expected that reaction of them.
"Do you mean..." The man replied as he paused his words for a moment when he realized something. After a few moments, he then continued with a question, "Are you here as well to find the Vessel?"
"Exactly." The lady replied with a slight smile. It seemed that she really like being with them for her cold personality was barely to be seen anymore.
"Only a few people knew about his arrival, how did you know?" The man asked curiously.
"I just know it." The lady chuckled softly.
Seeing that the other party didn't want to tell it, the man fell silent. Indeed, why would the other party tell about it? Even he himself suffered poverty just to learn that sort of thing and he himself really didn't want to talk about it anymore.
So he understood why would the other party didn't want to say how did she knew about the Vessel. She might have lost something very valuable just to learn about it.
But why here in this village? Is the Vessel here in this village? The man contemplated deep inside trying to figure out the intent of the other party.
On the other hand, Stella felt that she was now able to speak so after hearing the both of them talking about the Vessel, she really was completely clueless. So after the both of them finished talking with each other, she then finally opened her mouth as she asked, "What do you mean by the Vessel, and why did you bring me here?"
She only wanted to escape from the dogs of her father who kept chasing her and find the thing she saw in her dreams. So why in all of a sudden would she end up here with these strangers.
Seeing the bewildered face of Stella made the beautiful young lady smile. She stared at Stella before she replied, "We are going to find the 'falling star in the day'."
Stella was surprised to hear it. She couldn't help but ask, "You knew about it as well? So you also dreamt about it..."
"No, maybe you're the only one who dreamed about it, we three have our own ways to learn about the arrival of the Vessel." The beautiful lady explained.
"What? So you didn't lose anything to learn about it?" This time, the man really was surprised by what he just learned. He couldn't help but interject in disbelief.
"Of course not..." The beautiful lady chuckled softly.
"W-what..." The man really wanted to cry this time. He became penniless and lost all of his possessions as a payment to that darned greedy Hidden Boss just to ask for some fortuitous encounter. And now, he would just suddenly find out that other people need only to dream in order to learn about it? Just how unfair was the world for him to suffer like this?!
On the other hand, Stella was still a bit confused. It seemed like the other party knew that she was looking for the falling star in the day in her dreams, but how did she know about it?
Seeing Stella with that kind of questioning looks, the beautiful lady chuckled softly as she explained, "The sign of the arrival of the Vessel is the falling star in the day. So I just mentioned it to you in case that you don't know about the Vessel and only knew about its sign."
"So that's the case..." Stella nodded slowly as realization dawned upon her. But there was still one thing she wanted to know so she asked, "But what really is this Vessel you are talking about?"
"This kid really is stupid." However, instead of the young lady, a voice of an old man from nowhere responded to her, making both Stella, Sylva, and the man raise their guard.
"You don't even know about the King and here you are looking for him!" The voice disdained Stella for knowing nothing at all.
After which, a book appeared so suddenly in front of the beautiful lady and floated in the midair. Just by looking at it made all of them felt little suppression. Even Sylva and the man were no exception at all.
But taking a clearer look at it, the man finally realized its identity as his eyes couldn't help widening in shock as he muttered with a quivering voice, "G-greed Spirit!"
"What did you say? A Greed Spirit for real?" Stella asked in shock. After which, she turned her attention to her summoned Spirit and found her shivering in fear. Sure enough, this was really a Greed Spirit, a King Level Spirit!
"Enough chitchat." Just as the three were astonished at what they were seeing, the beautiful lady interjected. After which, she walked and made sure that she was in front of all of them as she said, "We're all here for the same intention, and that is to find the Vessel for our own reasons. So why not we work together and find him..." The beautiful lady paused for a moment with a slight smile before she continued, "What do you think, Stella Charlotte... ...and Robert the famous Lone Red Hunter of the west."
The two were jolted in shock. But Robert was even more. But after a few moments, Robert regained his composure as he said with a proud grin, "Am I really that famous?"
At last, he was finally been recognized unlike this young lady beside him who knew nothing at all. As if she was living under the rock.
The beautiful lady only smiled at him and didn't utter any more words. On the other hand, Stella slowly shifted her gaze beside her to look for this Red Hunter as she didn't know what she was feeling right now. Was that excitement? Agitation? Joy? Or was it all blended together?
She didn't care about her identity being exposed since her face had already been shown to the world and her name was known by most people. She only avoided the gazes of the crowds from before because of the white cloak she was wearing right now, making her appearance seemed as if different from the eyes of the others. But of course, higher-level Players could still see through it so she wasn't too surprised seeing that the lady before her knew her identity.
But what made her jolted in shock was the identity of the man before her, the one she just hired as a mercenary. She would never expect that this shabby-looking man was actually the famed Lone Red Hunter of the west. If one would want to know, he was one of those people who could complete high-level quest single-handedly, a feat that was impossible to the most.
That was also why he was entitled a Red Hunter, the one who could defy the unwritten rules. In this world, the ones who were entitled and had the word 'Red' in their Job Class were the ones who could defy the unwritten rules such as completing high-level quest alone.
Well, it wasn't that these unwritten rules were something prohibited by the Heaven. It was just that most of the Players no matter what human clan they belonged to, couldn't achieve such things. That was why the word Red was added to the Job Class of those Players who achieved such feat and make it their title.
Red Mage, Red Support, Red Hunter, etc... no matter what Job Class was that, as long as they broke any of the unwritten rules, people would start to call them as Red something and would later become their title, giving them some sort of buffs.
