Chapter 2 - A Psychopath's Life
Leon walked through the isolated streets and reached a rundown five stories apartment building. He climbed through the stairs and arrived at the fourth floor.
His clothes were covered with blood; some stains were dry, and some were fresh— seemingly, he had killed many people on his way here.
He took out a key from his pocket and unlocked his apartment door. He glanced around from the corner of his eyes and entered the apartment after making sure that no one was watching him.
After entering the apartment, he went straight to the bathroom. He stood in front of the mirror and took off the mask, which revealed another half mask on his face.
He was wearing two masks just in case something happened to his first mask. He took off the half-mask and stared at himself in the mirror.
After staring at himself for a while, he smirked widely and uttered, "Good job."
"I feel so happy!"
"Did you see the expression on the president's face when I placed the grenades around his neck?" he asked himself.
"I wish I had taken a picture."
He took out a phone that had a cracked screen and turned it on.
"Let me download the copy of the live stream video before it gets deleted from the internet," he muttered.
"Ooooh!" He exclaimed. "There are so many comments."
"What is this language? I don't understand."
He scrolled down in the comment section and saw a comment saying, 'He is a psychopath.'
"Yes! Yes! I am a psychopath!"
After scrolling for a while, he stumbled on a comment saying, 'He has a screw loose! The cops should find him and kill him.'
Leon frowned his face in anger and uttered, "I don't have screws! And I will find you and kill you, B00bLov3r69!"
BEEP! BEEP!
Leon rushed into his room and turned off the alarm.
BEEP! BEEP!
But, it rang again.
Leon grabbed the clock and smashed it on the ground.
"Stupid alarm!"
He went back to the bathroom and stared at himself in front of the mirror.
"I got blood all over my body," he muttered.
He took off his clothes and tossed them in a bucket.
His entire body— excluding his face, was filled with various types of scars; some were deep, and some were light.
Leon glanced around the bathroom and grabbed the bottle lying in the corner. Then, he emptied the bottle in the bucket and dashed out of the bathroom.
After some seconds, he came back with a lighter in his hand and threw it in the bucket to burn his clothes.
He watched as the clothes burned. He observed the bloodstains on the clothes getting burned and smiled creepily.
After that, he entered the bathtub and took a long bath to wash himself. He used shampoo and body soap to eliminate the stench of the blood from his body.
After washing and rinsing for 20 minutes, Leon got out of the bath and made his way to his room.
He stood in front of the wardrobe and muttered, "What should I wear today?"
He opened the wardrobe with his eyes closed and grabbed the first cloth he laid his hand on. However, when he opened his eyes to look at the clothes, he didn't like them. So he did the same thing again.
He repeated that until he got the clothes, he wanted to wear.
After wearing the clothes, he sprayed the perfume all over his body to dispel the remaining smell of the blood. Then, he looked at his phone to check the downloading progress.
"92.69%"
He then looked at the time and saw it was 5:55 AM.
"I am hungry," he muttered. "But I can't cook breakfast yet."
He went to the living room and glanced around. "Hmm~"
Suddenly, his eyes widened as he gasped, "Where is the mask?"
He went back into his room and searched for the mask, but he couldn't find it.
"Where did it go?!"
He entered the bathroom and found it lying on the sink.
SIGH!
He sighed in relief and grabbed the mask. He hid the mask in his wardrobe and entered the balcony to look at the view outside.
He shivered and hugged himself as the cold breeze passed by.
THUD!
Leon's ears twitched as he heard a rustling sound.
After a few seconds, the door of the next apartment opened, and a middle-aged man came out. He was dragging a male body on the balcony and didn't notice Leon.
The man rolled the body and carried it to the ledge of the balcony.
"Argh!" he grunted as he placed the body on the ledge of the balcony.
"He is so heavy."
The man looked past Leon when he glanced around and stopped to look back at Leon.
Leon and the man stared at each other for a while. Then, the man pushed the body down from the fourth floor.
The body bumped into other balconies before hitting the ground and squished on impact.
The man was still looking at Leon with a straight face.
"Uhh…" The man looked back into his apartment and then looked at Leon.
"For your information, he was already dead long ago. And I simply threw him off because I didn't want to get in trouble," the man stated.
"Who killed him?" Leon asked with a curious look on his face.
"I did," the man replied. "But it was in self-defense."
Leon looked down at the body that was now covered in the pool of blood and asked, "Did he come to kill you?"
"No," the man replied. "Actually, he was my brother, and he came to my apartment last night. He said he was scared of his neighbors, so I let him in."
"Then he tried to kill you?" Leon guessed.
"No. He ate dinner with me and my wife, and then we went to sleep. However, when the clock hit 12:00, he entered my room and tried to r*ape my wife." The man shrugged and said, "So I killed him."
"I waited for the last minute to throw him off as I didn't want someone to snipe me," the man added.
"How did you kill him?" Leon asked with a curious look on his face.
"I grabbed my baseball bat and hit him on the head!" the man replied with a scoff.
"You should have used a knife," Leon remarked. "It feels good when you plunge it inside someone."
"What about you? Did you kill anyone?" The man asked.
"It's a secret."
