Chapter 17: Pillar Of The Past
Chapter 17: Pillar Of The Past
Trials, what exactly are they? Well, it's hard to provide the best explanation for this so I'll make this short a sign of the end, the signs of miracles, fortune, or maybe even death. I'm not sure what's the best answer as the trials only choose the ones who desire to enter
[System: The time limit for the player's preparation has ended, get to this location for the trials to materialize
Warning: Players that won't heed the orders given will be killed, by the Gm thank you for your cooperation hope to see you again]
When they finally arrived at their predetermined location, the three of them stumbled upon a hundred or even thousands of players from different kinds of races. Shapes, and sizes, were all gathered near a huge and towering pillar. That was rather peculiar to the eyes of many, those that have trained their senses could feel such a malicious intent within its walls. A feeling of danger mixed with agony, despair, torment, and death, and yet he didn't flinch
"Boss, look over there it's a huge tower," Kyo cheerfully pointed upon a structure that was the embodiment of death and every nightmare that would linger in a mortals body
'Sigh... It looks like he can't detect such a thing, no matter how talented he may be he has a lot to learn about this world. Now that I've thought about it, the "Wandering loner" Kyo's adult self was the type of player that travels the world of trials. He didn't have any destination; he only travels wherever he pleases, a person that was severely affected by his past mistakes. I think he wanted to find a place to settle down after all that he experienced was pain and if he wasn't the one experiencing such a horrible fate. Those around him would be threatened to perish after they were used as a means to capture him in hopes of making him their slave,'
"Pretty close it's a pillar it's not a tower if you look closely it doesn't have any entrance just a tall pillar that just materialized," He remembered the lines of the first tragedy that came in the form of a pillar

Chapter 7 Pillar Of Past Calamities
Upon the materialization of the pillar, it will take anyone that gets closer to the past making them relive the tragedy of the fallen players
"After a long time, I didn't think I'd see this once-in-a-lifetime event. Guess I'm pretty lucky. Since this is the only place I can obtain some of the most busted items on the game," Hugo, on the other hand, didn't hesitate to make contact since he can get some answers if he became one of the top contributors to the trial

"It looks like a normal pillar to me, we'll finish this in no time," Her words were filled with enthusiasm that had a hint of arrogance in her tone
"Leave that attitude behind, once you experience the true horrors of the pillars. You wouldn't have that kind of attitude from the get-go," Morris said pointing out that Esther's overconfident behavior
"What's wrong with being confident?" She replied to his discouraging words of advice
"It's not wrong, but having too much can be comparable to a slow-killing poison. Arrogance and boldness will only bring you to a self-destructive path," He said whilst patting her back telling her that he was only concerned
"Whatever I can't win against you anyway, what are we waiting for exactly? We're standing here for 30 minutes," After they waited for a long time, she started getting impatient for the start of the main trials
'I'll just say nothing about. Telling them too much is already suspicious. If I told them everything they'll start questioning where I got this information from, but what are we waiting for exactly? Well, that's because the Game master hasn't arrived. Without them, the trials can't start until they order that system to do so,'
The players all gathered near the Pillar waiting for the arrival of the Gm while some of the ones who are scared to risk their lives were seen fleeing the city only for them, to be taken backed by the Gm showing the players near the Pillar an example if they wanted to stay alive
[System: The Beginner Gm [Kishar] had arrived along with the rule breakers]
"It seems all of you still can't understand what we said on the Tutorial trial very well, let me make this clear for all of you," Kishar grotesquely killed the players in front of thousands of people waiting near the Pillar spreading fear as they get overwhelmed with the Kishar's bloodlust
'I did a pretty good job making this place a hell hole, at least this guy is doing more than what I designed. By displaying this scene in a ton of players, they can show their dominance in the hierarchy. At least the two of them aren't even shaking in these past few weeks. I purposely made the three of us stumbled upon a camp of player killers. I'll tell this story once I find a reasonable time and place for that bloody day of slaughter,'
"Looks like all of you aren't using your brains? Let me repeat these words properly, the world of trials is a place where you can gain what you desire. But the price of that is your endangerment we don't care whether you die or not. As you can see, I'm a Game master. I can't directly kill everyone, but I can punish anyone that has broken the rules. In any case, welcome to the main trials," Kishar said as he opened the trials, making the pillar shine so bright
[System: The trial of the past has been generated the players can now enter]
"We're going in, get ready for anything. Once we enter the only one we can rely on is our own," He said as the three of them marched onto the entrance of the pillar
[System: You've arrived at the first stage, each tragedy will be split into 10 stages we wished that you survived]
"We're here Kyo, Esther," He was all alone in the middle of the sinister forest
[It seems this trial was programmed to split you up with your group by the time you entered]
"Sigh, let's move along, waiting here will only slow our progress. Let's find them while we walk," He inspected his surroundings, and his voice echoed throughout the area. Which made him guess he was on top of a mountain, having learned his current area. He could only think of fleeing from such a suspicious-looking mountain
'The two of them can hold their ground even when we're not with each other, which reminds me of the thing I did before. I acted like I'd gotten a fatal attack from a monster on our commissions. So I pointed out a campfire that was filled with player killers making them fight with one another,''
[What are you smiling about]
"Nothing just remembering the time I gave my teammates some stimulation to further increase their powers," Morris said whilst the two of them revisited such a dark and bloody scheme
[Ah, yes that one time, I'm proud that you've got the results that you needed to happen]
'While protecting me I've slowly weakened the two of them by activating the hidden effect of their artifacts. Making their movements slower and weakening their strength altogether. At their lowest point, I acted like I woke up in the middle of the fight and purposely made one of the players stab me. Which angered the two of them to a certain extent Kyo went on a rampage and awakened his power while Esther, on the other hand, dirtied her hands and slaughtered a ton of them,'
[And you call yourself a nice person who doesn't believe in violence]
"I'm not a hypocrite even if I'm acting nice I know my weakness as well. I've made a mist that surrounded their camp making their powerful allies lost in the woods. And seeing as im their leader, I've killed them with my own two hands the first time was always the hardest,"
[I remember that like it was yesterday. You were puking your guts out from the very first kill when you had dozens left to slaughter. Tell me are you a demon disguised as a human, I won't tell anyone, just be honest with your question]
"I'm a human, I'm just picking an option that no one else is thinking of achieving. I chose my teammates whom I saw as worthy of being my ally. Esther was always Jolly and loyal towards her allies, making her kill if she needed to do so. While Kyo is a kid, they're easy to manipulate while they're still young," Morris said as he unsheathes his dagger, and swings it to his left revealing a monster
[It's a human, well it was human from the looks of it they've been turned into a mindless cannibal from a disease]
[System: You've arrived at the start of the first tragedy known as Famine fever]
'They say that being cruel will only be attained if you've fallen from the depths of despair but I beg to differ it's an option that a person can make and it's the best choice you can do if your life depends on being cruel,'
