Reverse Apocalypse: The Devil's Revenge

Chapter 47 Rewards (2)

The ordinary rewards he received from successfully completing the Event Mission were pretty low. He had killed more than three thousand Plagued Monsters by himself within 15 minutes, only to receive a mere 316 Arcanium.

But of course, that was just an additional reward, something he wouldn't have gotten if not for the Mission.

The horde of Plagued Monsters had to be annihilated, either way, since Liam's customized mission required him to protect the natives inside the gymnasium.

Thus, he was glad to receive even more rewards.

Who would be stupid enough to complain about receiving gifts? Liam was not that spoiled, and he was in need of Arcanium as well.

As for the Black Steel Weapon, Liam had yet to take a look at the choices.

But he would do that when he had some time. For now, he kept glaring at the idiotic Natives who had begun to complain about him 'stealing' their prey.

Even if Liam was currently in a good mood as he finally finished his customized mission with flying colors, he had a hard time refraining from throwing a bunch of Black Tarthear needles in the disgusting faces of the entitled Natives who thought so highly of themselves.

'Are they just stupid and unable to realize that I saved their fat asses, quite literally at that?'

Liam was not sure what was going on in the natives' mind, but it was just one of the many mysteries he never understood behind the cause of action of both humans and devils.

As little as they understood him, Liam couldn't understand them either.

Thus, he was glad to be able to divert his focus to something else as a bunch of notifications popped up in front of him.

[Customized Mission『Protect the Natives』has been completed successfully. 2315 Natives have been protected actively and passively. Congratulations!]

[The Host's Debt has been removed!]

[Small Shop Certificate(15 Days) can be claimed.]

[463 Arcanium have been rewarded!]

[Vial of Boundless Vitality(SSS) can be claimed.]

'How generous…System…why are you so nice to me all of a sudden?' Liam asked the Arcane System in his mind even if he didn't expect an answer.

He was pretty satisfied with his overall gains, who wouldn't be?

The value of the Vial of Boundless Vitality was still unknown to him but he was pretty sure that the Small Shop Certificate was the most valuable of the lot.

"Claim the Small Shop Certificate!" Liam ordered while ignoring the gazes that were drawn to him. His hands were trembling due to the high influx of the Arcane Power that had surged through them, and from throwing more than three thousand Black Tarthear needles at his opponents.

It was quite hard to accept for others but Liam had actually killed more than 3000 Plagued Monsters all by himself, in such a short time at that!

[The Small Shop Certificate(15 Days) has been claimed!]

A small ticket materialized in Liam's hand but he didn't bother looking at it for more than a second. He tore the ticket into pieces, which resulted in more notifications popping up in front of him.

[Congratulations to the Host for creating your own temporary Shop.]

[The countdown starts now! <14D:23H:59M:59S>]

[The 『Shop』function can now be accessed]

Liam ignored the natives that were quite far away from him and accessed the Shop function.

The display items on the front shelves of the shop were not very appealing since there was not much he could do in a temporary shop, to begin with.

It was a Small Shop, which was comparable to a permanent shop with a total of five Slots to sell goods. He could also configure the Shop to a certain degree which meant that he could purchase one particular type of item at a certain price with the Arcanium he could deposit in the Shop.

"That's better than expected, for sure!" Liam thought, nodding his head in satisfaction as his hand reached out for the closest corpse. He grasped it and released his Arcane Power outside his body. A fiber-thin azure-blue membrane enveloped the corpse that disappeared a moment later.

The corpse appeared in his Small Shop where Liam put it on display in one of the five empty boxes. Liam reached out for another corpse and he stored it in the same way as before, using his Arcane Power. However, this time instead of the corpse appearing in his shop, something else happened instead.

[2x 『Ordinary Plagued Monster』for 0.25 Arcanium each!]

'Yes!' He exclaimed inwardly before he started to collect more and more corpses. He continued to ignore the existence of the natives, who were staring blankly at him.

A few natives wanted to confront Liam, and even attack him for stealing their kills as they realized what he was capable of, only for Felix to hold them back.

"I don't really know what he meant when he said that he doesn't have to protect us anymore, but you better leave him alone!" He warned, not budging in the slightest as he looked deep into the eyes of the people who were trying to make a fool of themselves.

The natives looked at each other, and their heads flicked over to Liam before they looked over to the few people who had chosen to follow Liam.

They clearly recalled how hard it had been for the six people to throw a few needles at the Plagued Monsters, while Liam threw dozens in an even faster interval effortlessly.

His mercilessness, speed, or dexterity was not something that could be ignored.

"Maybe…you're right…" One of them mumbled and the others nodded their heads as well. They could be satisfied with the gains they made from killing a bunch of Plagued Monsters. The rewards they received were also quite decent, especially considering that every single person inside the gymnasium was given the first reward of the Event Mission.

More than 2000 people were granted the choice to pick any Black Steel Weapon they wanted to.

Olivia, Kian, Rex, and the others had already replaced their steel spear with other weapons, and it was only now that Felix and his people noticed that Olivia was holding out her steel spear to Liam.

"Do you need the steel spear? Maybe you can sell it for a few Arcanium!" She asked when she reached Liam, whose expression returned to the earlier neutral expression.

"You noticed that I was given a shop certificate as a reward?" He asked in response to her question, which Olivia reaffirmed with a nod.

"I noticed that a new shop appeared when you tore the ticket that materialized in your hand. The Ordinary Plagued Monsters in the new Small Shop are also quite obviously the Plagued Monsters from here!" Olivia explained.

Liam nodded his head before he continued to collect the corpses.

"Do you really think someone will pay 0.25 Arcanium for the Ordinary Plagued Monster corpses?" Olivia asked, not too sure if Liam was not overestimating the selling price for each Plagued Monster. After all, killing them rewarded less Arcanium than the price he demanded for their corpses.

However, Liam smiled confidently when he heard her question. If not for the current situation, he would never be willing to sell the corpses for merely a quarter of an Arcanium, to begin with. In fact, he would rather dissect the body of the Plagued Monsters and earn a much higher fortune with the things he could use their body parts for.

"The Elves would probably be willing to pay an entire Arcanium if we wouldn't be in the early game of the Arcane Apocalypse. You can even brew Berserk Potions and concoct Antitode Pills with Plagued Monster corpses!"
