Chapter 148 [Bonus ]Bloodline Soultrait Synergy
Liam first challenged Claire to see if she could handle materials she never used before. She succeeded easily, which is why Liam went ahead to the second step.
He gave her the items she requested earlier.
Kasld coal, and Liqla Ore were quite simple materials, they were rather cheap. Kasld coal was an [E-] Rank material and Liqla Ore was a [D-] Ore.
It shouldn't be possible to create weapons with a higher ranking than the materials useds, yet, looking at the weapon in front of him, Liam couldn't help but smile lightly.
'So that's what the Orion Clan is capable of?'
[『Reinforced Liqla Dagger』-Circleless C+ Rank-
Description: The Liqla Ore has been forged in ordinary flames, reduced in Kasld Coal and shaped with the Mythical Power of the Orion Clan's Were Tiger race. Rusty from being enslaved for the past five years, the heiress of the Orion Clan was unable to unleash the dormant power of the Liqla Ore.
Purification Process: 25%
Channeling Arcane Power into the Reinforced Liqla Dagger reinforces the blade's endurance and sharpness.
Remark: The purification process was abysmal, bad enough to shock any Blacksmith Apprentice.
Remark 2: The limit of the purification degree has been exceeded due to the high potency of the applied Soultrait.]
Liam was actually impressed looking at the dagger. Its stats exceeded his expectations but that was not everything.
The blade of the sapphire-colored dagger gleamed like a moonlit night sky. Its smooth and flawless surface was as blue as the ocean and it shone with a brilliant luster. Even Liam, someone who was hardly impressed by the appearance of any kind of weapon couldn't help himself
He stared at the blade for a few seconds, mesmerized by its beauty.
The handle, made of the Liqla Ore's darker outer skin, was wrapped in a thin layer of blue leather. Liam had given it to Claire Orion when she demanded soft leather for the dagger handle.
Despite handing over the leather, Liam didn't really expect that the blue leather would look that good on the sapphire-blue dagger. It was almost as if tiny sparkling diamonds had been embedded in the handle, creating a contrasted elegance to the deep blue of the sapphire blade.
Even though the dagger had been designed rather simply, one could consider it a little masterpiece in the world of weapons. Its design was classic yet timeless, but that was not the most important.
After all, the reinforced Liqla Dagger was a killer weapon, crafted with precision and care, for only one purpose; to kill as efficiently as possible.
"Since I haven't used my Soultrait for a long time, I am a little rusty. I have never used Kasld Ore, or Liqla Ore to forge a dagger either. That's also why I didn't try to put any enchantments on the weapons," Claire explained at this moment with a hint of pride in her voice.
It was obvious that Claire Orion was proud of her capabilities, especially the mythical power to unlock the dormant properties within certain materials.
'Why did you request materials you've never used before? What an idiot...' He thought, shaking his head inwardly.
Liam was not too sure how it worked either, but he presumed that her Bloodline Power and Soultrait worked well together. Their synergy was likely the reason the reinforced Liqla dagger broke through the limit of material and purification degree.
This attracted Liam's interest even more.
Of course, that didn't mean Claire Orion was worth the investment. Liam had yet to see how 'powerful' Claire Orion was at her peak, and how troublesome it would be to control her properly.
"You couldn't even engrave enchantments on such a dagger? Well, that's disappointing," Laim voiced out neither too loud nor too silent
The two of them were still in the attic, but it was already late at night. There was only a dim light from the forge fire. Liam could see Claire's silhouette, which allowed him to see that she was breathing heavily.
Claire was out of energy whether it was Arcane Power or the nutrition in her body.
She looked even weaker than before she ate.
Her stomach was rumbling wildly as well, almost as if she hadn't eaten for years.
Liam scanned her reaction while retrieving a bunch of plates with well-preserved food on them.
'She looks quite interesting when she is baffled.'
Claire was embarrassed because her stomach was rumbling as if it intended to recreate a 9.0 earthquake, but she was even more shocked by Liam's statement.
Was he serious right now? Put an enchantment on a weapon without knowing the material's properties? Was that easy? Was that safe?
Was she suicidal?
If Liam wasn't a White Devil or something along those lines, Claire would have actually believed that he was oblivious to the dangers revolving around the enchantment of weapons and other pieces of equipment.
But since Liam knew so much about other races, the Nine Realms, and the Orion Clan it was quite obvious that he knew what he was doing when he purchased her from the Slave Shop.
Liam had a Devil's horn, a detailed and glamorous one at that. This indicated that his parents, or at least, one of his parents were a Demon King, Monarch, or even Emperor.
If someone with such status didn't know how dangerous, and difficult it was to enchant weapons, who would actually know about them?
"I'm just saying that you did a decent job. We can start forward from here on," Liam said, not bothering about Claire's ever-changing reaction.
"The reinforced Liqla Dagger shouldn't be the best creation made by you. At least, I hope it is not your peak. Otherwise, this will get a little bit more complicated."
Liam kept glancing at Claire Orion, who had shut her mouth. She stared at Liam for a few seconds, gritting her teeth and clenching her first.
Was it really necessary for Liam to be like this? Why did an asshole buy her from the Slave Market?
Well…nobody purchased her for the last five years, so she should be happy about the change, or not?
At least, Liam didn't violate her. He even provided her with highly nutritious meat and other dishes. That was more than she could wish for from the Slave Merchant.
But that didn't mean her pride could endure what Liam threw at her. Was he belittling her, or was Liam actually an ignorant fool.
"I don't care what you think about me. I am clearly stating what I think about the current situation. I want someone who can work with great efficiency in order to earn as much as possible. High-quality junk food would be best."
Liam's eyes were neither cold nor gentle. He was more interested in the change of her expression and he wanted to know how she would react. Was she willing to swallow her pride for the Orion Clan's sake?
"I am… the best…" She hissed through her grit teeth. Her head slowly turned red and her hands formed into claws.
However, even after all that, Claire never considered attacking Liam, or doing anything against him. If she were to do that, electricity currents would spread through her entire being, causing damage in accordance to the density of her killing intent.
"I will create the best weapons so…help me…please…" Claire requested through her grit teeth, her voice growing quieter.
It looked like she was shrinking in size beneath Liam's gaze and it was only a matter of time before her head turned to the ground.
She didn't even dare to look at his feet anymore.
"Give me a good reason to help your clan and I might feel like doing it. Of course, it has to be more efficient and beneficial than the current situation," Liam pointed out, giving Claire a hint about his desires.
He didn't want to throw his demands at her because it was much better if Claire Orion, the prideful heiress of the Orion Clan, were to offer the conditions on her own.
As long as she believed that her conditions were better than the worst-case she could imagine, Claire Orion would gladly accept any deal. That was what Liam was quite confident in.
Of course, something like that required a bit of effort, quite a lot at that.
'A shortcut would be great.'
Liam was not too sure how severe the situation of the Orion clan was, but he hoped that it would be quite bad.
"A good reason…? I am the heiress of the Orion Clan, and I am in possession of the Transformation Soultrait! I also have the Material Appraisal Bloodline Power! As long as you give me enough time and resources, I will great you the highest quality junk food that rivals the best cuisine in your home!" Claire said, her head perking up all of a sudden.
She stared straight into his eyes for a second or two, just to see that Liam stared coldly at her.
"Your talent is the reason I purchased you, in the first place. That is not a reason for me to go out of my way and rescue your clan, Miss Fallen Clan heiress," He pointed out provokingly.
"I…" Claire struggled.
She lowered her head once again.
Her eyes fell on the plates of food in front of her and her stomach began to grumble again.
"Eat first and think about what you want to say in the meantime," Liam said, turning around to the staircase which he descended. He took a look at the others just to see that they hadn't been affected by Claire's production process.
'Her transformation ability is pretty good, and she seems quite gullible considering that she exposed her clan's secret just now. Looks like this will be a bit easier than initially expected.'
Telling Liam about the synergy between her Bloodline Power and the Soultrait was not something she ought to tell anyone, not even people in her clan. That was something Liam figured rather easily.
Of course, the information he had received from her was quite advantageous.
'Let's see how easy it is to exploit a desperate heiress!'
