Chapter 25
Chapter 25
Ms. Kim was stunned to see how easily and quickly Jing Yunzhao had accepted Gan Songbo’s offer.
She was happy for Jing Yunzhao since it was clear that Gan Songbo would love and care for her like she was his actual granddaughter. Gan Songbo was from a family of physicians and was a famous physician himself; since Jing Yunzhao was into medical knowledge, she had nothing to lose and everything to gain from this decision.
Things became much easier after this issue was settled.
Not having to attend classes for the day, Jing Yunzhao packed her things and moved into Gan Songbo’s apartment that day itself.
Gan Songbo wanted very much to send Jing Yunzhao there himself, but he had promised his grandchildren that he would only disturb them on the day he came to collect the ‘rent’.
The apartment was called ‘Cozy Garden’, which was appropriate since it was rather small but cozy.
Gan Songbo’s unit was on the fifth floor. She heard that it had an attic where various flowers and plants were planted, and the apartment would be filled with the smell of flowers when they all bloomed in a few months.
Jing Yunzhao got to the fifth floor without breaking a sweat. She knocked on the door and a girl in rabbit pyjamas quickly opened it.
“God-cousin?” The girl asked, eyes bright.
Jing Yunzhao’s lips twitched in surprise and she nodded stiffly. She was pulled into the apartment immediately.
“My name is Su Chu. I heard from Grandpa that you are now his god-granddaughter, so that makes you my cousin! My other cousin is studying in his room; his name is Gan Jinchen. He is one year older than us but he repeated a year in elementary school so we are all in the same grade now. I know you, Jing Yunzhao, you are the top student in our school!” The girl said enthusiastically.
Jing Yunzhao was surprised to meet someone who did not try to avoid her despite knowing who she was.
“Grandpa explained the situation to us. He said that you went to the police station today and the gangsters were arrested, and it has been proven that you had nothing to do with them. I don’t know what happened exactly but Grandpa is always right about someone. I am sure that you are a decent person since he accepts you as his god-granddaughter,” Su Chu explained kindly when she saw Jing Yunzhao’s astonished expression.
“Your room is the one next to mine, and we have already cleaned it up. Make yourself comfortable. I am going to study now since it is only a few days until Grandpa’s test,” Su Chu said easily and stretched before hurrying back to her room.
Jing Yunzhao exhaled deeply and looked around the apartment.
The apartment was around 120 square meters and the kitchen and washrooms were all well-equipped. Nevertheless, the interior appeared to be quite messy as various snacks and books were scattered all around the floor.
Jing Yunzhao found her room and liked it the moment she entered it.
It was a room facing the sun, with golden curtains and a bed, bookshelf, and wardrobe – a generally satisfying room.
She had lived in the smallest room when she was with the Qiao Family, and had tried her best to get cheap little things like a bed canopy, a flower vase, and other accessories to make the room as cosy as possible.
Her new room looked even better after she unpacked and organized everything.
When Jing Yunzhao finally settled everything at the end of the day, she locked the door and entered her secret space to sort out the things that she had bought in the morning.
In her secret space, the bags of seeds that she had bought earlier were arranged neatly on the ground, and the seeds actually appeared more vibrant in the space.
Jing Yunzhao used a shovel and sowed all the seeds according to the steps written on the Naling Jade slip, then started focusing on absorbing the medical knowledge after watering the seeds with a mixture of the well water and the magical water that flowed out from the dragon head.
The seeds began to look different at around the twelfth hour in the secret space. The plants had grown to different extents depending on the ratios of the magical water that they were watered with. The one thing that the plants had in common was that they were all growing healthily.
