Chapter 429: Cost-efficient
Chapter 429: Cost-efficient
While Shane continued his journey through the merged Soul-Onyx Jungle dimension for several days, many incidents happened on Igra.
The construction progress of several thousand large houses inside Shane’s soul world was going smoothly, and more houses were planned to be built.
At the same time, the infrastructure inside the Hidden Paradise was changing too, transforming into a proper city.
That was, at least, according to the construction plan that more than 100 architects had created over the duration of several months.
The warehouses were also overflowing with Spatial rings. Each spatial ring stored one particular item in order to have an efficient storage system that didn’t take too much space away.
Despite that, they were still short of many materials which they couldn’t procure easily.
They ran into several issues and the authorities of the Astral Starlight faction had multiple problems to face at once.
On one side, there was the government that had begun to associate their faction with a hostile foreign race in order to gain back sovereignty on Igra, and on the other hand, there were several human associations that had appeared out of nowhere, talking about some gods that were supposed to help them.
These gods were, in fact, foreign races that supported these certain associations because of whatever reason they had.
Maybe, they wanted to enslave a few million humans before the Dark Ice elves would destroy Igra, but there might as well be a different reason.
As for the Dark Ice elves, their situation didn’t look too nice either.
Since the past few months, their overly aggressive behavior had attracted the irk of other races that didn’t like the overbearing attitude the Dark Ice elves and Eclipse thunder devils were showing towards them.
These two races had even eradicated races that were extremely close to some Intermediate races!
As such, the Dark Ice elves received a huge backlash while not many could do anything against the Eclipse thunder devils.
However, they were unable to do much either because the Divine elves made their first move in an eternity.
It was said that they were an advanced race, but nobody had seen them in their lives, which turned them into legendary figures.
They preferred to keep themselves lowkey but now had decided to join the Great Elf war on the Higher elf’s side!
Owing to this, mankind assumed that Igra might not be destroyed, calming down everyone who had panicked before.
But, was that really the truth?
While the government and other human associations were making their decisions without even asking the citizens’ opinion let alone, considering it, Shane didn’t want that to happen to his Astral Starlight faction.
He trusted everyone in his group.
Thus, their discussions were always broadcasted in a livestream that could be accessed by everyone with the sole requirement which was to belong to the Astral Starlight faction or those who decided to trust them instead of the government.
In the end, the latest grand meeting had ended differently than Shane would have expected.
He neither watched the livestream nor did he pay much attention to it. The only thing he got were the final results which Talia had sent him.
Apparently, the opinions of most faction members were similar to the faction’s authorities as they thought that mankind was already way too divided to have a uniform thought process, and that a civil war was unavoidable.
At the same time, most thought that their planet would be conquered or even destroyed in the future because too much information had already leaked and too many organisations supported by foreign races had suddenly popped up overnight like mushrooms.
It was only a matter of time before something catastrophic would happen, and the system’s malfunctioning would probably be the last straw to cause mankind’s doom.
The system was the only means that could block sharing certain information with other races, including their planet’s coordinates, or the situation of their stellar system!
As such, the moment the system’s malfunction targeted this area, it would be game over for Igra.
At least, that was what most faction members taught, which was also the reason for them to ignore everything their old friends, distant relatives or even the government told them about Igra’s safety.
It was simply hypocrisy to think that their race could return to their former glory after what had happened.
They had only combined their forces because of the appearance of the Primordial dimensions that brought ferocious beasts towards them, either way!
Shane was glad that the faction members thought the same as he, Talia, Miriam, and his family thought because it made many things much easier.
Everyone continued to work hard for the same goal, and even those that had been skeptical about the majority’s votes were slowly convinced after the entire situation had been neatly explained to them.
Thus, every task progressed as fast as it could while some were even completed much earlier than estimated.
In the end, there were only small issues they had to figure out a solution to, with the biggest one being the amount of mana the soul world could generate as of now.
Shane had to acknowledge that the amount of mana was not huge. It was more than enough to supply enough mana for a few hundred people to cultivate with, but millions of citizens were going to inhabit his soul world for quite some time.
They might not need mana to cultivate under normal circumstances, but nobody knew how long they would have to stay inside!
This was one problem they had, in addition to the obvious fact that mana was required for every single Artisan occupation, let alone to practice martial art techniques.
Owing to that, it was necessary to provide more mana even if it would be required by only a few particular areas.
As such, the faction’s authorities had taken a proper look at mana generating items and living beings.
There were quite a few of them, but their prices were exorbitant, and exponentially increasing with the amount of mana it could create.
This was annoying but only logical as the profoundness of high-quality mana generating devices was extremely high, let alone the rareness of mana generating plants.
They didn’t need a lot of resources to create mana after all!
Talia had long since conducted such research because generating mana inside the Hidden Paradise had already been an important subject several years ago.
Because of that, she had announced that mana generating plants are much easier to procure in comparison to devices, even more so, if they used Supreme tickets in addition to mountains of gold coins!
Shane still had 120 Supreme tickets left, and there was nothing he really needed them for.
Meanwhile, he was not the only one with Supreme tickets, and by adding those of his faction members, there were around 200 Supreme tickets in addition to around 600 Supreme tickets his family had yet to use for their own needs.
With a total of 800 Supreme tickets, they could shop more than enough mana generating plants, only to face the agony of choice!
There were too many plants to decide what the best cost-efficient distribution for their supreme tickets was, and it would take some time to make the best choice under their current circumstances.
They had to think of their goals for the short-term, mid-term, and long term after all!
