Chapter 66
66 Your Stomach Or Your Location?
Sun Yan leaned close to the wall so that neither Sun Li or Rong Yue could see him. For someone like him that had spent so much time in the military and was good at it, it was a simple matter.
“Do you really think I’m dirt?” Sun Li asked amidst sobs, clearly she had been holding her emotions back earlier.
“You are the little treasure that decided to support me even when you had no idea about me. Even if you have dirt and everyone discards you, I’ll still hold you dear to my heart without minding the dirt.” Rong Yue confessed and when she saw the doubtful look on Sun Li’s face, she chuckled.
“I just know you can do so much more than what you are currently doing. Firstly, unlike so many elite families, your family is supportive. If you let them know that this is what you want after doing well in school, they might be willing to let you do as you wish.
But now, you have bad grades, you are only leading them to think that it’s your passion that’s making you do badly in school. That way, they won’t be able to love and respect it the way we do.”
Sun Li’s eyes lit up with understanding from what Rong Yue said. Although she wanted something different, she was going about it the wrong way and would not make her family understand exactly why she loved it so much.
“So I’m the one going against myself?” she asked with uncertainty.
“Yes.”
“Also, you have to understand that every single member of your family adores you. It might seem overwhelming to you. But to me that has to love and give my all to my mother while taking all of her clueless attention, i know exactly what it feels like to have one person that you know would always be in your corner. But to have people that can guide you only because they want the best for you, that, my dirt covered treasure is priceless.” Rong Yue told her and then pulled her in for a warm hug that had Sun Li pouring out tears.
.....
She didn’t know all of Rong Yue’s story. But from what she knew, she was aware that it was only Rong Yue and her mother that lived together. From her words just now, it was not hard to see that her mother was not in the best condition.
Yet, she managed to hold herself up properly and even do so well.
Sun Yan who was still listening in the corners felt his heart thumping wildly with concern and admiration. She was not just beautiful, she had a beautiful soul and was even a fighter.
If he hadn’t been sure of what he wanted before, looking at his sister that had been straightened by a few words from her and even her glowing eyes from where he was, he was very sure at this point.
Just as Sun Li wanted to speak up, Rong Yue’s phone that had been in her hand the whole time rang and Qin Yichen’s name popped up. However, she had saved his name as “Bad Wolf Qin” making Sun Li who was able to see her screen easily from how she sat raised her brows in curiosity.
“Let me pick this.” Rong Yue said as she stood up and excused herself.
“Hello.” the familiar voice of the man rang out and up until that moment, all the times that he had crossed her mind and had been pushed to the back of her mind seemed to have added up and swallowed her whole in this moment.
“Hmm. you called today.” she said plainly while doing her best to sound natural.
The other end was quiet for a while but the soft sound of his breathing was enough to let Rong Yue know that he was still on the call.
“If you missed me, you should have called.” he muttered, sounding like a grumbling wife.
“Qin Yichen! State why you called or I would definitely hang up on you now.” Rong Yue growled softly, afraid that if she spoke too loud, she would allow Sun Li to know who was calling.
Considering that he was someone their family knew, he definitely didn’t want a situation where she would wonder what was between them. After all, she was glad that none of them had brought the matter from that day up.
“Where are you?” Qin Yichen asked, ignoring her outburst from just now.
“How’s that any of your business?”
“Your response decides if you get to eat any of my food anymore.” he said shamelessly and Rong Yue felt a burst of urgency from his words. This past week of him being away had made her realise just how supreme his cooking meals were. More importantly, after having the roasted duck from the Sun family today, she had been even more surprised at the vast difference between his cooking and their professional chefs. Although it was still a nice delicacy and she ate it all up, it was nowhere near what Qin Yichen made.
“I’m at my friend’s place. The Sun Family.” she hurriedly said. Clearly, in that split second, she had decided that her stomach and taste buds were more important than her location.
“It’s not good to be visiting families alone at your age. What if something happens? Huh?” Qin Yichen asked as his voice deepened even more, making him sound like an elder scolding a young one.
“That’s not something you should worry about Qin Yichen!” she said hatefully as she ended the call. This time, out of her emotions losing control, she had called his name a little higher making Sun Li who had been listening attentively furrowed her brows more.
Was there really some relationship between the young master of the Qin family and Rong Yue? she pondered.
“Yue’er, have thought about all you said and have decided that if you don’t mind, I’ll appreciate if you could become my tutor.” Sun Li said as soon as Rong Yue sat down back.
Her words made Rong Yue smile immediately. She had not expected that Sun Li would immediately see reason from her words. After all, even she could see the stuborness that was laid deep in her bones.
“Let’s tell your family then.”
