President Qin's Little Wife Is The Strongest

Chapter 65

65 Do You Like The Young Lady?

Unlike what Rong Yue expected, lunch with the Sun family was not a big family like she knew of elite families. All of them chatted and discussed matters and even Sun Li ate as much as she did making her appetite not unusual to them.

“It’s good that you eat well. Most girls now want to starve themselves to death.” general Sun said and nodded his head twice to show that he was happy with it.

“You just want everyone to be like your daughter that you have trained with such a huge appetite.” his wife, Madam Su retorted as she sent him a playful glare but it was clear that she supported his opinion.

“Rong Yue, is it okay if I call you Yue’er?” Madam Su asked as she passed a soup dish to Rong Yue. Rong Yue was stumped by the question but still nodded regardless before taking the soup bowl from her.

“Good, Xiao Li doesn’t have any friends, now that she finally has one, you are like a family to us” Madam Su added and Rong Yue smiled, the warm ambience and aura in the air immediately made her feel like she knew their whole family better.

“Mom, you don’t have to let her know she’s my only friend! How can I make her feel like I’m some treasure she was lucky to have picked up?” Sun Li asked with a glare, her face distorting even more as everyone on the table burst into laughter.

“I already know that you are some treasure. Even if you are covered in the dirt now, you will eventually shine later on.” rong Yue said with a teasing smile.

As for Sun Li, the first part of the words had already made her elated. Her joy was, however, short lived as soon as she heard the next part of Rong Yue’s statement. The words, coupled with her reaction made everyone on the table burst into laughter at the expense of their family member.

“How am I covered in dirt!” Sun Li yelled, face set in a scowl.

.....

“Your bad grades, of course. When you eventually study well and get better grades, you will become a treasure that even I can’t let go of.” Rong Yue said seriously and everyone on the table became quiet as they watched their sister and daughter’s reaction.

Usually, it was hard to talk about her grades in such a blunt manner, especially since everyone knew that she used to do well at some point. However, it was also something that bothered all of them after all, they wanted her to leave their small city and do so much also. However, as their princess, they also couldn’t bear to hurt her.

Sun Li looked at everyone’s expression and Rong Yue’s serious and almost stern one and dropped her head slightly.

After what seemed like minutes of bated breaths and stillness. Sun Li finally raised her head up, her eyes a little dull from what it had been before.

“I’ll work hard to be the treasure you don’t want to let go off.” she promised before standing up from the table. Rong Yue didn’t bother to think twice and rushed out of the dining room after her.

The three brothers looked at each other and Sun Yan stood up hurriedly.

“Stay back, if we can’t do it. Then let someone else do it.” general Sun said sternly. After all, even him couldn’t bear to be harsh on his little princess. If her friend could. Then there was no need to interfere.

“What if Xiao Li hurts Miss Yue.” Sun Yan asked, revealing his real intention and worries and Sun Kai who had just taken a sip of fruit juice immediately choked on it.

Wasn’t this the doting emperor? He hadn’t expected that his brother, the one that had fought to keep Sun Li all to himself while they were younger and she was still a baby would now put someone else above her when placed in the same situation.

Sun Fan who already knew his brother was a goner from the day of the party burst out laughing at his expense while their parents looked at each other.

“Sit.” his father commanded sharply as he took his glass cup and chugged down all the water in it.

“Do you like the young lady in that type of way?” his mother asked curiously and the sharp flush from Sun Yan’s ears to his neck was all his family needed to know what his answer was.

“Your sister genuinely likes her, she won’t harm her.” Madam Su finally said before she went back to her meal.

No matter how free they were, the marriage matter of Sun Yan was a very important deal. Not only was he the heir, he had become a general already at the country level which meant that the army had to approve whoever he was going to marry.

With that in mind and with how little they knew about Rong Yue, they could already tell that it was going to be difficult for them.

“You just got promoted. With the limelight on you for now, it would be impossible to just pick anyone as your partner. She’s also a lot younger than you and you must be careful.” his father warned. However, laced in that warning, the care and concern was also apparent for everyone to hear.

“I’ll have someone to check her connection with the Qin Family. If she’s approved by the Qin family, then the military cannot be against her so much.” Sun Kai said and his family nodded in agreement.

Sun Yan said nothing more and eventually stood up and left in the other direction. He had known that he had taken a fancy to the young girl. However, he hadn’t been clear on what he wanted with her up until he had to answer his family when they asked.

As she strolled in their garden, he suddenly saw two shadows that were quite closely huddled together.
