Chapter 239 - The Earth-shaking Roar of a Beast
Jiang Hao quickly spotted a man and a woman on a narrow path through the forest.
Their condition, however, was far from good.
Their clothes were shredded by branches, but that was the least of their worries. In that moment, their sole focus was a desperate escape.
As they ran, they cast terrified glances over their shoulders, as if a horrifying creature was in pursuit.
“Roar ~!”
Suddenly, a beastly roar thundered, rattling Jiang Hao's ears.
With a stern, determined expression, Jiang Hao braced himself as if for battle.
But then, the thunderous sound of something running swiftly faded, and the forest stirred before falling silent once more. The imminent danger had vanished.
With the threat gone, Jiang Hao wasted no time and dashed towards the pair.
Drawing closer, he recognized one of them as Tian Cuicui, the woman who had inquired about ginseng prices just the day before.
The other was her husband, Jiang Guoqing, the carpenter from Jiang Village.
Still reeling from their ordeal, the couple erupted into cries for help upon seeing Jiang Hao.
