Chapter 22: Start of The Noob's Misery
Chapter 22: Start of The Noob's Misery
Sky's China Branch Headquarter
"Director Guan, someone has discovered the Legendary Tribe!" A man in his mid-thirties barged into Guan Mu Sheng's office.
"I know!" Director Guan was sitting behind his working table. His eyes were on a big monitor, watching a player.
The man soon noticed that Director Guan was monitoring the same player. The man came closer and looked at the screen, "What should we do? A Legendary Class will go waste," the man somehow panicked.
"What do you mean by going wasted?" Director Guan turned around and looked toward the man. Wei Jing, one of the development team members in China.
"First, this is too early for a player to enter that area. Even if he gets the class, he won't be able to level up properly. Second, don't you know him? He is the famous noob from the Universe Online, the Legendary Class we design will be a laughing stock," Wei Jing voiced out his concern.
Legendary Tribe and the Legendary Class were the hidden attraction of the game. Wei Jing was concerned that one of their hidden attractions would go waste in the hand of the noob.
Guan Mu Sheng furrowed his brows as he looked toward his subordinate, "So what should we do to not waste our design?"
"We can offer him compensation as such a set of armor and respawn him back to the other city," Wei Jing voiced out his idea.
Guan Mu Shen nodded, but his frown was still there, "Then what about if another "noob" finds the Legendary Tribe? Will you do the same too?"
Wei Jing was about to say something in response, but Guan Mu Sheng waved his hand, "Hah Have you forgotten the contract you signed before the game launch?"
When Wei Jing heard his superior's reminder, he came to a realization, "Once the game launches, unless it's a bug or an update, we are not allowed to intervene with the game directly!" He rebuked Wei Jing.
"But we are already intervening by giving him the reward for reporting the bug?!?" Wei Jing could not help but respond. He felt that he was doing this for Sky, for the company he worked in.
"The reward is given to him not just because he reported the bug. But his action to not spread malice about Sky or try to sell the bug for money. The boards and the other six Directors from the other branches have also agreed to reward Runner!"
"Wei Jing! We are not just a normal game company, the country is watching us too. If you do something that breaches the contract, I am not going to be responsible for you. You should know the consequence of breaching the contract the moment you signed your name on it!" Guan Mu Shen then looked back to the monitor.
"Moreover, how do you know the young man will waste the Legendary Class? We have anticipated that people will find the Legendary Tribe this early, so we have made preparation for that! You can leave now!" He waved his hand at Wei Jing, telling him to leave the office.
Guan Mu Shen had been watching Shen the moment the video of his being bullied went viral. He already knew that Shen was going to find the Legendary Tribe when he saw the last clip where Shen fell into God Burial.
"Who would expect that a bullying victim would be rewarded with a big gift," Director Guan was smiling by himself.

Magic should not exist, but Shen witnessed something that only magic could do, 'Another bug? No, I got the class. This should not be a bug.'
He looked at Yosu's statue for a little longer before he headed out, "Another magic?" There was no door, but he could not see through the doorless entrance.
"Spawning in a random remote village, and now a bizarre encounter," he muttered as he sat on the stairs, "Nah, whatever, I reap a big benefit with this Legendary Class."
He opened the status window again and began checking his new skill.
[Void Draw: Drawing your sword out and slashed the sword at an extremely quick speed.
Damage: 100% of base damage
Cooldown: 30 seconds
Cost: 10 Stamina Point]
[Void Step: Giving yourself a burst of movement speed by 50%!
Duration: 10 seconds
Cooldown: 60 seconds
Cost: 10 Stamina Point]
[Void Critical: Giving a chance to deal critical damage on each attack.
Critical Chance: 4.5%
Critical Damage: 103%]
Shen's eyes shone in brilliant light as he looked at the skills' description. The thing he liked the most was the passive skill. Even though it was just a 4.5% chance to trigger the critical strike, the skill did not consume his stamina point.
"I have to be careful to use the skill, especially this early stage" he had only 100 Stamina Points. He could only use his skill five times at max.
If his stamina depleted, he would not be able to move. Running out of stamina was the same as dead. He had to use the skill carefully. This was why he liked the third skill the most where it did not require mana to trigger.
"But why Dexterity? Does that mean I have to focus my Status Point to Dexterity too?" For not repeating the same mistake from the previous game, he had learned about the swordsman.
The common build for the swordsman was Strength and Agility. While some people had some unusual builds, like focusing on Vitality and Strength to get tankier. Or focusing on Agility and Strength.
Strength was essential for the swordsman because the damage came from the Strength. However, Yosu Legatee's main attributes were Agility and Dexterity, which was weird in his eyes.
Shen also created his own swordsman's build to play in Tribe Online. But now he had to think carefully about how to distribute the status point.
Aside from the weird main attribute, he noticed that he needed four times of exp to level up. It was supposed to be 100 exp for him to level up to level 2, but now he needed 400 exp. It quadrupled but Shen was not discouraged because he received a big advantage.
He had skills where people started with no skill at all, "I will use my advantage to catch up, it should not be hard," Shen muttered as he stood up.
The sun was about to go down, the night was about to arrive, "I should quickly go outside and get some levels. I don't know what will happen to the monster when the night arrives."
Shen equipped himself with [Gifted Spear] and went out of the village. A swordsman who equipped himself with a spear. He did not realize that it would cause him to not be able to use [Void Draw] skill.
Twenty seconds passed quickly, and suddenly a brilliant light gathered in the respawn hut, slowly forming the shape of a human body. Soon, Shen was resurrected with his eyes opened wide, still shocked at what happened to him just now.
